Wow, the other new features videos I watched for S1 6 didn't mention that we can now add sends to FX channels. I almost always have used buses as sends for this reason, at the expense of losing the convenience of drag and drop. You guys should really publicize that addition more, it's really helpful in many situations.

I know so many good improve in this update but I have to say Wow to the video player the quality of the pictucte is on the top. I own Nuendo 12 and Pro Tools Studio and none is even close after export. thanks

You could also use splitter in the piano track and use reverb and cut the lows as you described, or am i wrong? :)

Nice improvement, thank you Gregor! May I encourage you to consider adding the option to invert the phase on a send (to either fx or bus channel) to provide an easy way to set up such as delta busses for conflicting instruments? That‘d be great!

I was literally just balancing a LVOX FX and did not know about this feature. I kept going where is the "orphan" that keeps hitting my throw delay (I'm a novice mixer). Studio One, thanks for the feature. Gregor, thanks for the vid.

This is great. Unfortunately fader flip is not working on remote controls. Not sure if it is possible with Mackie Protocol at all but would be great.

I have a problem with my FX channels, if I want to send my piano to the reverb fx channel that works fine but when I send my guitar to the reverb fx channel it changes my piano reverb settings to my guitar setting, in other words, I have the same reverb on all instrument channels unless I drag and drop my fx into the inserts.

I'd be happy if I could just get my channels to show up at all. The F3 key doesn't work. For some reason, F3 now changes to the cutting tool. Channels are nowhere to be found. HELP!!!

I noticed a strange behaviour whilst working with my partner's newly updated V6. Add several VCA faders to your song, open the console and set the fader width view to narrow, the colour of the VCA faders goes from red to the same green as the fader flip. Surely this shouldn't happen?

When I send any channel to the fx channel, the sound increases. What is the reason? for example, a reverb and even though it is 100 percent wet, the sound is getting louder and my sound balances are distorted

Hi, when you send to an FX channel, the level doubles as a result as you are now sending to another channel (with the effect applied) at the same time. This is the reason why every Send is set to -6dB once created in Studio One. Try setting your Sends to Pre-Fader by clicking on the Fader icon on the send (level should turn yellow) and see if this is more like the behavior you are expecting. -GBY

@@FEFEWAV @FEFETHELOVER BEATS not entirely correct. Buses can be used as auxiliary tracks in addition to being able to route signal through them. I never use fx channels in my workflow. Thanks for mentioning it anyway, I only answered the original question within the context of parallel processing, which is pretty much all fx channels are capable of, so clarification was needed.

Please update the "Send Prefader" function to work when the dry channel is muted, just like Pro Tools. On S1, If I need to work on a parallel compression and listen to just the parallel bus/FX channel, I need to activate the send to be prefader and then turn the dry channel to -INF. It could work only muting the dry channel, which is easier. Thanks in advance!

Why would you send anything prefader other than for automation purposes(special effects)? You can still listen to just the parallel effect by solo safing it and then soloing it. Still one click.

It's called Event FX - I believe you get it by holding Alt or Ctrl when dragging an effect onto an audio event.

what would would put studio one over the top is having some way to emulate different console sounds like API, SSL, etc and a way to drive into distortion like a console. Also some of the plugins like scope etc would be cool if it looked similar to ableton on the bottom somewhere. would like to see a mastering EQ similar to the manley passive EQ. some sort of tape emulation. a set of master bus compressors. would be cool to have a complete suite to do total mastering all within the box so to speak with no external plugins needed. For drum replacement would love to see something similar to cubase where you can detect the transient and just load a sample in without using any external plugins like impact, SSD5 and others. it automatically puts in midi notes and when the threshold on the transient detection changes so does the midi hits.

B-b-b-but.. you should really chop off that low end BEFORE the reverb (place the EQ first in the chain on the FX buss) to avoid some of the worst phase issues. I would really like to see a PRE-fx pre-fader send to busses and fx channels. That's a game changer as far as I'm concerned.

That’s just 5cm thick absorbers for first reflection point treatment…I’ve got plenty rockwool in all corners and a frequency response +/- 3dB at 1/24 across the whole spectrum. -GBY
