I'm in this boat. Can't get my doctors on my side. Any suggestions or recommendations outside of anxiety meds?

Personally, the only way I have been able to decrease my anxiety related to my autistic brain wiring is by changing my environment to minimize my triggers (which sometimes requires accomodations from others). I know it's not a magic bullet, but it has helped me immensely ❤️

@@sensorystoriesbynicoleI can’t change my environment :( at least not in the main. I can momentarily but then the productivity is reduced because I have to leave environments that I must be in to be productive. I wish there was a solution for those environments…

Yeah the thing that helps best is soundproof headphones, eating really healthy, sleeping right, not getting involved in arguments you know the outcome of. Staying away from crowded places. Hard to do in a major city but yeah SSRI’s made me feel like I was vibrating and anxiolytics did nothing until I took a lot and went to sleep.

@@NcowAloverZI I wear earplugs 24/7 for 15 years now... I can't function or work without them but even in earplugs I still freak out because of certain noises that drive me crazy and of course severe tinitus... I have misophonia and hyperacoustics, but I never thought that I could be autistic.... I was also on ssris but didn't do anything.

I am suffering a lot from sensory triggers, especially sound, and smell, but also touch and light, I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder but could I be autistic?
