Great video! I always enjoyed the arctic environment figures and vehicles. That was what was so great about early vintage G.I. Joe, the realism of the toys. It's also interesting that this toy was reissued and given a Tiger Force upgrade. Do you think that the reissued vehicles/figures in Tiger Force had anything to do with sales of the 1st issue toys? Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely, Hasbro definitely would have reviewed past sales performance when choosing vehicles to go into the Tiger Force range.

Your presentation style is top stuff, like the way you go down the list of specs like a real vehicle, your time in the service shows through. Great job.

Birthday '85 - Snow Cat. The start of my Action Force obsession. I already had Zartan, Torpedo, Blowtorch, Baroness - without even realising they were from the same line! After the Snow Cat I knew what I was looking for... I also broke the tab on the missile rack despite being careful with it!

Yeah, got the snowcat for my 7th birthday... sadly it didnt survive my college years move... Great memories of me and cousins exploring the winter [and summer vacation time] battle environments:)

My main deterant to re-acquiring these great toys is that +30 yr old tends not to last... But then i discovered morndern day reissues with freshly produced plastic and the temptation returns.

So I have just bought my first Snow Cat and of course now its time to research its history and features. Your insights help me truely savour all new toys that I obtain, and of course was the first review video I had to head to.

Love how quick kick is in the snowcat! Totally prepped for winter warefare!

I like the versatility of the Snow Cat. Since it was a half-track with wheels, it could function on any terrain. The Polar Battle Bear and the Cobra Wolf both had skis, so they were only good for the snow.

Yeah... even at a young age, me and my cousins had the same logic towards combat effectiveness/versatility:)

Yes, I had one and I loves it. Everything about it screamed badass, from the half track design, to the ski-torpedo, to the frosted windscreen. It was cool. Frostbite too, reminds me of Kenny Loggins now though.... but his M-16 with the scope, how could you beat that. I think just about all my Joes held that weapon at one point. Great review sir! Later!

Great review. The idea of environmental exposure is foreign to kids, lol. The one thing I loved about most of the OG13 was the removable head gear. Wave 2 and later somewhat moved away from that concept. Some still had it, but as the line moved along, the wilder the outfits, and the more permanent the head gear. This truly was, and still is, an awesome example of Hama/Hasbro innovation. I especially loved the windshield with frost on it, and the torpedoes. My side decks were never used for figures. I wish I knew about model washes and detailing for my old Joe vehicles.

The G. I. Joe Polar Battle Bear was the first Arctic Joe vehicle, driven by Snow Job, was seen in G. I. Joe #11 (The Pipeline Ploy!). The Snow Cat debuted in G. I. Joe #68 (Cut and Freeze Dried).

Snowcat was my last GI Joe toy I got as a gift. I stopped playing with toys sometime when I was 11 years old. later I traded it for the Havoc

Had the Snow Cat, but the Polar Battle Bear was the very first arctic vehicle for G. I. Joe. If it had a weakness, it only had missles as weapons. No machine guns or cannons. Frostbite was voiced by Peter Cullen in the episode Eau De Cobra.

The modeling of G. I. Joe Vehicles after real life vehicles was part of its success and appeal until roughly 1988-89. Examples: The Conquest X-30 after the protype NASA/Grumman/DARPA X-29 Forward Swept Techno Demonstrator The Warthog AIFV after the USMC AA7V amphibious tractor. The MBT Mauler after the M1A1 Abrams. I agree that the Snow Cat does look realistic. Had one myself; a nice touch was the frosted canopy look. Peter (Optimus Prime) Cullen voiced Frostbite. Not sure, given his... look if Quick Kick can survive in an arctic mission, though.

Not to be overly picky, but wasn't the GI Joe Polar Battle Bear from 1983 the first Joe Arctic vehicle?
@AnalogToys7 жыл бұрын
Jimisin73 I think you're right. I overlooked the Polar battle bear

I had most of the Joe vehicles throughout the 80's, but this was the only one I didn't have until the Tiger Force version. Growing up in Los Angeles and my family not into winter sports, I only ever played in the snow once, which I think is why I never found the winter themed figures and vehicles appealing.
