I actually have a G&L Bluesboy, not pine though - swamp ash. I got it less than a year ago (from PGS), and love it. The neck humbucker is quite warm and mellow sounding compared to the spanky bridge pickup. But put a little overdrive on either one and this guitar comes roaring to life. NO complaints at all, I recommend G&L highly to anyone who's curious! Solid guitar, high quality.

That ASAT is just the sweetest looking axe. Elegant in it's simplicity. I think I'm in love.

The G&L standard C is very comfortable, not too beefy. If you head over to our G&L section there is a handy breakdown of all their neck sizes. All USA G&L's are made to order! Thank you, G&L

I watch a LOT of guitar demos, and I must say, that G&L Pine bluesboy has at least four totally classic rock tones, plus the country thing. It is a sleeper for certain. Two thumbs up!

The ASAT was named after a missile of the same name. Leo loved his technology, he was a truly great inventor.

I guess you had to do a video on the G&L ASAT with Pine Body since I just bought the last one in Butterscotch Blonde ( Swamp Ash ) Love my guitar. I can't believe how light it is compared to the Fender Tele's made of Alder. Neck has a great feel to it too. Thank's again Andy & the crew at PGS :-) Lou

@Acruhf The MFD pickup in the bridge is quite loud. They are almost the same in volume. You just have to lower the bucker a bit so they match.
@LfunkeyA12 жыл бұрын
the single is high output and the humbucker is low output, they seem to balance quite well when the height is set properly

@Acruhf not really, ive played several tele's with this pickup combination and they have all been a dream to play. If you have a low-output humbucker with a medium or hot output single coil in the bridge the levels are very close and you can always adjust pickup height to get it perfect :)

It's a telecaster with a humbucker? Reminds me of Andy Summer Fender, he had a humbucker in his Tele too.

@Acruhf Honestly, you hit the nail on the head. The balance in tone and volume is VERY hard to work with. If you regularly switch between pickups trying to retain volume or tone, don't buy one like this. But like all good axes, this has its own niche, in which it shines very well.

@Acruhf You can either raise the bridge pup, or lower the neck pickup if you want a more even volume, if the guys at G&L havent done so already. (Please correct me if I'm wrong guys.)

For those less educated, G&L is Leo Fenders company. After he sold Fender he went on to make better guitars and basses based on the platforms he invented.
