The issue is when companies reach a certain level of commercial success with a product, it’s more financially viable to pour funds into that product while improving the scale and efficiency of production than it is to invest in creating new products. I would have loved a GPX2 Small but they have no financial incentive to make it. It sucks, but there’s a reason the smaller brands tend to innovate more frequently. It’s the same reason Apple can make small refinements year to year with the iPhone without feeling pressured to reinvent the wheel so to speak. In other news, Lamzu Maya we need you!

I had my original G Pro X wireless. And I considered upgrade when they released Superlight but then I was informed that it still used micro-usb which was a dealbreaker for me. All my peripherals are usb-c so having that one flimsy, whacky connector was just annoying. I upgraded to Razer Viper V2 Pro but the shape just wasn't for me. So when they introduced Gen 2 Superlight I bought it at launch. Because of shape (because I had original G Pro X) and usb-c. 2k pooling rate, new switches and new sensor were just bonus for me. Overall happy with this mouse but I think it is not worth the upgrade if you have Superlight Gen 1.

I agree. I cant even consider spending more than $80 for a mouse anymore. So many new Chinese mice are coming out with 3395s and 4K polling rate paired to Nordic MCUs for $35-$60. Delux just released a 49g Viper Medium with top of the line specs and 4K in the $57 M800 Ultra. I'd take it any day over the GPX2 thats a 60g recycled GPX

You have to be careful with some of those 4K implementations because a lot of them don’t even out perform 1-2k hz from Logitech and Razer, as well as other house name brands

@@Brankokovac I do have a V2 Pro with 4K dongle and personally I perform identically to mice like the F1 Pro that I also have running with a 4k dongle. I do have to agree though Razer can't be beat in the sensor and QC departments. Never had an issue with their mice whereas my pulsar X2 had a bad encoder and double clicking issue

I decided to upgrade from the GPX 1 to the GPX2 mostly because I already had the previous for 2 years and with discounts and rewards I was able to get this GPX2 for under $90 so to me it’s worth it

the new 'hybrid' switches supposedly have the mechanical feel but have the reliability (no double click) of optical, so I suppose that is an upgrade

I'm sorry, I ain't upgrading... Which is a real shame to say since I got the V1 Superlight. The truth is... They did play it safe yes, and I think it's for the future revisions. I don't think they expected the loyalists to move on to this, I think they are gonna definitely size up and down this model, and then... V3 is where the actual hype is at. Don't knock it, this is a great mouse, and woo, USB C... Yee... I gotta be honest, I use wireless charging dock, and will still do, the USB C is now up to the standard, so when upgrading, don't need to worry about cable. The upgrades while minor, allow this to be knocked down price heavily if just few months and especially on Christmas sales, and I think that's what Logitech is hoping for. Not necessarily to get the oldies onboard, but the newbies.

I mean logitech got their own sensor so. I think the 2000hz upgrade is fine for people who wants high polling rate. I doubt you can tell the difference between 2K and 4K even on A and B testing. I think Logitech values performance and efficiency here,

That strong bounce back of the main clicks is mainly due to their higher release force compared to Omrons. As a light fingertip user, I can't stand the heavy feeling of those switches. The large discrepancy between the actuation and release force makes spamming feel slow and inconsistent. I had the same experience with Kailh 8.0 and I can't stand those switches as well. I don't understand the obsession with ''the crispiness'' of switches.

Hehe Kailh 8.0 were my favourites in XM1 mouses, so crispy and tactile. Its like mechanical keyboard vs membrane.

Logitech knows that it doesn't matter if the GPX2 is inferior to a mouse from a smaller company like Lamzu, because theire mouse will still sell way m ore. As long as their mouse is good enough (not good, just good enough) and they keep the safe shape, they have no reason to worry.

@@jonasba2764 yh but it's not inferior. the gpx2 has optical switches and way better battery life. 2k hz is more than enough, atleast for me. you can't really tell the difference in a blind test. it's a placebo and drains the battery dramatically.

Are we just forgetting that all these 4khz mice use a 3395, which were designed and are usually locked to 1khz unless they have a Nordic MCU. Besides Razer mice which have sensors built from the ground up to be able to handle 4khz with no issues assuming you buy the mouse dlc for 30+. I don't know why we as consumers are so okay with what is basically DLC for mice ? Also I know you don't rly do much testing in the way of like input delay and mouse testing etc but Logitech 2khz polling is outperforming every other mouse that is 4khz from companies and they are just below both G-Wolves and Razer in terms of motion latency. I'd also wager that besides Razer, Logitech will have the smoothest feeling 2khz in terms of performance/tax on your system given that both the dongle and the sensor were designed to handle higher polling rate out of the box. Think people are also forgetting that Logitech are the only mainstream company to not charge you the DLC price for access to higher polling. I understand feeling upset by the sidebuttons not being improved and the stock skates still being bad + the shape of them being changed to not allow people who had old gpx aftermarket skates lying around to replace them but realistically there wasn't much for them to improve on from the original Superlight. It wasn't gonna be a GPW -> GPX or RVU -> V2pro lvl of transformation. The GPX was already good enough.

they could have done better... performance is great yes but u can get the same performance for cheaper lamzu 4k is 99.00 and feels better overall.. yes there 2k is better but spend less for better build and feel and same performance? who really wins? and then nearlink is coming too which will probably be cheaper and perform way better we will have to see... but what im trying to say is after so long we waited for a upgrade they could have done better

​@@officialteamroc Lamzu dongle is 15-20 depending on shipping so that takes the cost of using higher polling on a lamzu 3395 + nordic mcu which i'll say again, was previosly locked to 1khz which is why all these iterations of 4khz that aren't built by Razer (bc Razer built their sensor from the ground up to be able to handle 4k) are stuttery messes and still don't rly work smoothly with a lot of games outside of aimtrainers, ow and val :') The build qual of a first batch of mice are usually very iffy and I feel like it's unfair to judge build qual on gpx2 based off first batch (every first batch of mice are horrible qc) Nearlink is probably going to suck in other areas for sure and i 100% doubt it'll perform even close to Razer/Logi/G-Wolves but I would like to be wrong. Realistically I think Logitech played it smart by making 2khz out of the box. They saw how much flak Razer got for selling hyperpolling dongle separately and locking the mouse to 1khz out of the box and probably thought about what the max they could do without needing to do an external, aftermarket dongle. It also PERFORMS better at lower hz for motion latency than Lamzu, Pulsar etc etc and is only slightly outperformed by g wolves and Razer. Like I will definitely criticise them for including bad stock feet, bad grips and still keeping the powerplay dock for the 5 people that use it but other than that I think they released a product that was well in most reasonable people's expectation. I think if you didn't expect this, you are probs being unrealistic.

Don’t really understand the hate on the gpx 2. It’s a better version of the old one at the same price. Pros also don’t like to change their gear too often from what I’ve seen so copy paste so nothing is changed except better specs. People been paying the same price for the old version now you actually are getting something better for same price. Side note, I dont use the gpx but I just don’t really see the reason to flame them for it. Except for the side buttons and bad skates, they should definitely of made those better.
