This is the best quality, no-BS, everyday watch for the money. If you’re on the fence about this or a cheaper “functions” G, get this. An accurate trustworthy watch is crucial and the phone finder function is one of the best functions you can have on a watch, imo. It’s been a game changer for me. The lower end Gs are way different and cannot compare to the quality of the GST-B100 or any of the connected versions. I’m kinda glad I bought this before I bought too many cheaper function based Gs because the batteries are dead in all my older ones except the GA700SE.

Ive had this watch for years now, metal strap though. I have lost count of the amount of times I have used the flashlight.. Only stays on for a second or so, but its like a unlimited use source of light. Definitely my favourite feature.

I would like to have the MTG as well, I saw the Magma Ocean in person sitting in store the other day and it look better than I expected. I still like the this G-Steel, it has a unique look to it. That’s what I’m looking at now, damn it and I just bought this like 3 months ago!(I am definitely no hypebeast) I think the MT-G should be my NICE watch. Didn’t help that I was perfectly launched onto pavement riding 25 MpH and I swear I landed watch first and then rolled on it, lol... It is scratched and scraped the f up but this is how a real G should be, i like it. I really think i might throw it out my 4 story window now to get the real real G-SHOCK vibes. Not 30 stories tho, I don’t know if they did that with this model..

gshock highfashion yea, i feel ya but remember you can get this for like $300 but MT-G starts at $800 and it doesn’t seem like it really does that much more.. this will make a good beater, imo. It is so handy. I think I would have bought the MT-G instead of a new iPhone if I would have thought it over better tho. It’s a better investment by far long term..

The watch looks great. Only problem is the app to connect it. Its buggy and some say it's broken. Hopefully (I doubt) they'll fix the app. I set the watch manually. Other than that, the watch is great. Love the steel look it offers, compared to the others.

For a genuine parts, I'll usually get them from Pacparts, Casio (sent for service) or resellers from Yahoo Japan Auction. If you want to save cost, you could ask around from your social media. I did the same when a parts is too hard to get or just too expensive.

Perhaps the battery is low. It'll automatically disable bluetooth & all of those other functions except time keeping to preserve battery.

I have a question for you. Do all of the solar powered G-Shocks have some sort of battery level power indicator? Many of them have an obvious gauge, some of them have some sort of indicator in the underlying mechanism or features and again others rely on the app via bluetooth. I've got a couple models that I'm not sure how to figure out.

My watch won't adjust to the time showing on my phone. That app shows one time and when I send it to the watch it is about 2 hours off and the date is wrong. Any suggestions on what this might be? I have also removed the app form my phone and have set the time and date manually but about twice a month it gets a mind of its own and changes the time and date up.

You'll need to perform the hand adjustment in this case. Theres an option for that in the app. Move hands till it shows the accurate time.

JDM just meant it is sold in Japan with Japanese manual book/tag and different box design apparently. The presentation looks special and the fans like to be different. The watch itself is still made in the same factory, either China, Thailand or Japan.

No, there wouldn't be any reason to... the watch doesn't need to be in direct sunlight for it to charge, normal use will be sufficient. The watch can function for 2 years without exposure to sunlight in "power saving mode". Its very unlikely it will ever be outta juice, the battery should also last 10-15 years before it needs replacing but they have been known to last 20.
