Wow, the process is almost identical to the F30-about 90% similar. I'm currently debating between getting a used G05 X5 or a Maserati Levante. It's great to see someone DIYing on the G05! Do you like the car? any regrets?

I had the opportunity to spec this X5 so it fits our needs like a glove. The family appreciates the modern amenities, fit and finish, ample power and smooth delivery through the drive train. I do feel that the vehicle leans quite a lot even with the air suspension in comfort mode, that being said, as soon as I push the sport button this issue is completely eliminated. It has been a solid car thus far, the only regret I have is not ordering it with the cruise control distance control feature.

Just for reference purposes, my 2020 X5 has the same issue. Only 50k miles too. Dealer just quoted me $3400(8/21/24). Obviously I did not approve the repair. Disappointed in this car for years now. Have had so many BMW's since 1994 and I never seen so many issues as I have on this car. It's mind boggling. My X5 has the air suspension and it has been making a loud creaking sound since new. I guess the lower suspension arms need to be greased. But every time I take the car for service they say they can't reproduce the sound. Yet it does it every day for 4 years. And if you google it, it's so common yet the dealer couldn't reproduce the sound. But it went in squeaking and came out squeaking on 5 different occasions while at the dealer. Also, the AC went out under warranty too. Took 3+ weeks to fix it. Apparently its a $5k job, good thing it happened under warranty.

I feel your pain, I have never been so nervous with car ownership. I am presently dealing with the AC system leaking and of course it happened off warranty! Here's something I learned about squeeks, if you take AT-205 and dilute it with water 50/50, then spray it on suspension bushings, it gets rid of those noises for a little while until the bushings dries up and it starts to squeek again. Good luck!
