Wonderful exposition of the truth found only in His Word, Him, Jhn 1:1, 14. Jhn 10:29-30, Eph 2:10, Heb 12:2 and Rom 14:4 among many others show me it is all of Him and only of Him that I am saved and remain so eternally. As Jhn 14:6 tells us He is the only way, truth and life giver, "giver" is so very important as we can do nothing to deserve His grace and love for us. I can not express, (I kneel in awe), how thankful I am for Him and His gift that I know I am so undeserving of but He's giving me all I have including all in this life and the eternal one to come. Thank you for this ministry speaking truth, Eph 5:11, in what appears to be an age of lies with deception, apostacy and heretical teachers/teachings all around us. Num 6:24-26 for you, yours and all those around you.

I love the ministries' logo - At first glance it clearly suggests the Trinity concept of God in three "persons" - Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Then one would naturally think God is thus the sum as representing the wholeness of the Godhead. As an old retired engineer, the logo appears to me as G to the 3rd power, suggesting a mathematical concept here that give joy - God is not just the "sum" of the 3, but the entire Godhead with exponential power - dare I say unlimited !

The grace of the Holy Spirit has the power to justify us, that is, to cleanse us from our sins and to communicate to us the rightness of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and through Baptism. (Rom.3:22)Through the power of the Holy Spirit we take part in Christ"s Passion by dying to sin, and in his Resurrection by being born to a new life; we are members of his Body which is the Church, branches grafted onto the vine which is himself.(Cor. 12. John 15:1-4)

I agree we are saved by Grace through Faith and according to Roman 6: 3,4 baptism into Christ is accomplished by the( power of God), I noticed salvation is presented, after the believer is baptized, along with repentance found in Acts 2:38, the two are conjoined by the word (and) in that verse. Dr. Beeke referred to the Greek word eis, he said in Romans 4 it meant unto, for, yet most claim the same word in Acts 3:38 means because of. I was told the word eis is most always the cause of, not the effect of the action. Why does everyone use Pauls' illustration of the law of Moses and compare it to the works of faith in believing, repentance, confessing, and being baptized, most people, say these are not necessary for salvation. for example Dr. Beeke used the illustration of the glass of water saving the mans' life in the desert, and the importance of the straw, salvation is in the glass ( Gods Grace and Faith) but until he drinks through the straw, (mans part or avenue of receiving that Grace and Faith BY the power of God, not of the man drinking) he dies, doesn't he. There's a lot more that can be said, I guess I believe it's all by Christ and God's power' but I have to be receptive meaning without my willingness to adhere to Gods requirements, it is still not my works , I don't have the power or ability.

Cool story bro. Christians however, unlike Protestants, don’t accept the man made tradition of “justification by faith alone” invented by Luther. We accept the Bible. And the Bible explicitly contradicts Luther’s theology in James 2:24. Mr. Beeke said the Bible teaches “faith alone” over 300 times. Can any Protestant out there name one? Where can I verify the Bible teaches explicitly that we are justified by “faith alone”? Peace.

Yea. The topic is complicated, obviously, but it is a little odd to found an entire theological movement on an idea that is explicitly contradicted by scripture.

@garybridgham31 Howdy Gary! Is it your opinion that the thief on the cross proves “justification by faith alone”? If so, how would you possibly be able to come to that conclusion? Does the Bible tell us anything about this man’s life prior to being crucified with Jesus? Do we know if this is the first time he’s coming into contact with Jesus? Do we know that this is his “conversion” experience? Or is that just a guess that’s not actually supported by any scripture? Peace brother

@@nickswicegood4316 Why does God give us this event as it is? Do you believe there are superfluous incidents in the gospels? When you take the story as it is, you can easily see all that was required for this mans salvation. He acknowledged his guilt, recognized Christs divinity and begged for His mercy. What would you add or take away from this story? We believe the scriptures are inspired by God and sufficient for all things related to faith and life. So we take this event as it is presented to us in the scriptures. May God bless you brother
@nickswicegood43164 ай бұрын
@garybridgham31 Then by your reading of it, the thief on the cross performed at least 3 good works- 1)he acknowledged his guilt 2)he recognized Christs divinity 3)he begged for his mercy. I’d assume you’d also add that he had faith. So 4 works actually. My point is just that you are guessing that this man hasn’t had a relationship with Jesus, that he hasn’t been baptized, that he hasn’t produced any good fruit up until this point. We have no idea. But even if I assume he’s never met Jesus before in his life, he still performs multiple good works. No matter how you want to read it, faith alone isn’t being taught here. And it actually couldn’t be, since it’s directly contradicted by James 2:24. Peace.

Dr Beeke faith in Greek is "pragmatic elenchos", "the habit needed to accomplish what is necessary by conviction", or complete trust and the duty to fulfil that trust. There was no atonement directly at the Cross, Christianity has many theories but no truth, Jesus only regained access to eternal life for ungodly sinners for faith in Christ. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin, all unrighteousness is sin, faith is righteousness. The just shall live by righteousness.

@@markusw.2690 - Mark 1.15 KJV "And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel." A favourite text of those who promote the erroneous doctrine of duty faith/repentance, which advocates that all are obligated to savingly repent and believe who hear the Gospel preached. Now, before we look at 3 texts which will show the falsehood and contradictory nature of this teaching, a question must be asked - are all who own and read a Bible duty bound to have faith in Jesus Christ ? If not, why not ? (1) "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." (Math 7.6) Here we have the explicit words of the Lord Himself to His disciples, something they had NOT to do. What was that ? It was to 'give' or 'cast' heavenly truth to 'dogs' and 'swine.' By giving and casting the Lord meant simply to preach, declare, or show forth ; to testify of something, or more accurately, Someone. He is the Holy One of Israel and the Holy One of God; He is the One who calls His people to be holy, for He is Holy. His disciples were commanded NOT to preach what they had been taught, what they owned, their pearls. He is the pearl of great price which a man dares not depart from since all one can have and possess are found in Him; To them He is precious, more precious than silver and gold, for He remains the same, unlike all created things. Now, who are these 'dogs' and 'swine'? To the Jews, dogs and pigs are filthy, disgusting, unclean creatures. Our Lord's usage of this terminology would be easily understood to His hearers - do not preach to those opposed to truth, those who have no interest in heavenly truth, those who disdain the truth, the truth as it is found in Christ, who is the Truth. They will vomit the truth back out for they are unclean, beasts of the earth. Christ says do not preach to them. Christ says do not call these to "repent ye, and believe the Gospel" for they are not part of the 'ye' in our text. (2) "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5.32) What did Jesus come into this world, both bodily and by His Spirit, not to do ? Call the righteous. The word translated 'call' also means to invite ; the Lord did not, and does not, invite the righteous - that is the righteous in their own estimation. The self-righteous know they are sinners (and the more honest will admit this) yet they aren't that sick. They are convinced they can cure themselves by a 'good' deed here and there; they do not need the Righteous One. The call is made to 'sinners' and that to repentance; these are the characters Jesus says to "repent ye, and believe the Gospel." Sinners, as designated in this text, are those who have been convicted of their sin and the consequence sin entails, that is death - "And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment" (John 16.8). The Spirit of Christ reveals these truths unto all whom Christ died for, in greater or lesser measure, and all will be brought into a state of contrition over sin. Then they are compelled to cry out "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me." (3) "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Math 11.28) Here, again the call or invitation is to a specific group of people, a people who display certain traits: they 'labour' and are 'heavy laden.' They labour under the burden of their unbelief, in the world yet not of it, the suggestions and subtilty of the Devil, their many backslidings. They are weighed down with trials and tribulations wherein they feel they may sink under, a dark pit where there is no light. Yet they, given hearing ears, hear the Master's call, and like sheep, follow Him for they have an everlasting union with Him that cannot be broken. These precious words of Jesus are not for another group: the 'wise' and the 'prudent.' Jesus does not call them to repent and believe. The Father Himself has hide the truth from them (see verse 25). Only the babes are given knowledge, and wisdom, and repentance : "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger (Psalm 8.2). The Lord Jesus Christ in our text was calling, and continues to call, His people. The Lord was calling those whom He foreknew, those given to Him in eternal election, those born from above and with the image and likeness of Himself dwelling in them. The Lord knoweth all them that are His.

Faith in the biblical Christ is NOT A CHOICE ONE MAKES, but rather, is the RESULT of the Spirit's work in one of God's elect in the operation of the new birth. The position that faith is a "choice" one makes and then God saves them is HERESY AND LEADS TO HELL AND THEN THE LAKE OF FIRE!
Dr Beeke your error and that of the Reformation is that "imputed" is being given or imparted by God, but imputed means accused or recognised that you have it already.

I always thought of imputed as entering the debit or credit into the books on your account. So then if my sins are imputed they are written down on my account. But Christs righteousness is written down as a credit on My account
@simonskinner14504 ай бұрын
@@lex4929 Yes we have been told by the likes of William Lane Craig that imputed is to be added to our account from his account, but that is not the definition, as my comment. Righteousness imputed to us by Jesus, is for him to recognise we already have it on our account, we are justified by our own righteousness. Oh dear how wrong are those who rely on payment of sins, not repentance from sins Righteousness is judicial approval, it comes by judgement, we who are baptised shall be judged.,
