exactly, plus its just a disservice to yourself to basically work for free like art is work, takes time, effort and talent to do. In other words pretty religious. Not much different from a cult, initiation: baptism, trying to get others to convert, have a devotion to someone not mater what, frequent ceremonies, educational seminars (Bible school etc) sometimes reprimanding those who leave, everyone else is wrong, targeting the vulnerable to convert (mission trips -manipulation & deceiving them that it’s for genuine help), having a goal, non compliance will leave you in despair (hell), having symbols (ie the triangle = the cross)

@@BlueLemons_96I don’t think it’s just an internet thing. I think she truly does believe in what she’s preaching. The problem isn’t the religion she believes in itself. It’s actually quite common for bipolar people to hyperfixate on religion. It can go either way, where a person can become incredibly devout/think they are the messiah or think they’re possessed/the anti-Christ. A lot of mental health institutes will have no reference to religion or minimal to try to suppress this phenomenon.

"I'll never shy away from true constructive criticism" is so rich considering the "vitriol" she gave Rachel Oates and her in-depth reviews of Gabbie's poetry. Rachel knew what she was talking about, giving suggestions of how to improve and naming specific poetic techniques, and wasn't just "hurr hurr "time is relative, family is relatives" poem bad", and yet Rachel got most of the attacks from Gabbie when she went on a tirade against her "abusers"

Yeah a lot of the fan toxicity came from people who were subscribed to her patreon and thus could access her discord. I hope this is a fresh start for her and won't devolve into how bad it was in the past. But being online was the main problem for her and made her mental illnesses spiral out of control. So unless she has a good therapist/ support system and has unpacked every specific thing that went wrong, then it's going to be really difficult for her to not fall back in those old patterns.

A tale as old as pr, get famous, act mentally ill, blame drugs or alcohol, go to rehab, find God. It’s even common in regular people. Some people actually get help with their mental health (looking at you Trish) but a lot of them go down the “I found God” route because it CAN become a replacement for addiction, especially when the addiction started as self medication for a mental illness & the mental illness continues to go untreated. I predict she will either join an actual cult, join one of those Joel osteen type churches, begin a Christian grift of her own and / or go insane again. See Kanye for reference.

i find that born again christians are either addicts/criminals who come out of recovery with a genuine belief, people that have done shitty things and hope it'll shine up their image, or a mix of both. thing i notice about recovering addicts etc though is that their faith occurs whether people are watching or not. their devotion maybe feels a little extra bc it's such a striking change, but you notice behind closed doors that the devotion isn't for you, they actually follow through with their faith... great example being tinassee she posts recovery content and vlogs and she does mention her faith through showing herself praying before meals and discussing a religious experience at her rock bottom but she doesn't tell anyone too much and doesn't push her faith, just shows it as a part of her life. it's a striking difference between "religious influencer" and "influencer who doesn't conceal their religion"

I feel like she should just…continue doing what she was doing offline, even if it’s not what she WANTS. This born again christian thing feels…weird. Really weird. I’m pretty sure Gabbie mentioned in the past that she has bipolar (can’t remember which type). I will say my mom also has bipolar and this video is VERY reminiscent of my mom’s own “spiritual awakening”. So, yeah, I think she should just stay away from social media and get some therapy.

Agreed, my father had Bipolar II and I notice a lot of similarities in their behaviour, namely the erraticness and extreme bursts of anger. He was a "born-again Christian" for my whole life and as his condition worsened he started spiralling into believing random and ridiculous conspiracy theories and believing that the end days were near (which many Christians already do, but his was extreme.) Bipolar does not make you a bad person at all, but bad people with Bipolar can have their horrible actions exacerbated by their condition, especially because it can warp your sense of reality.

I was gonna say around about the same! My mom doesn't have BP, she has Borderline Personality Disorder (which she lovingly gifted to me, so yay), and…yeah. It's really uncanny. And, I'm at the point now in my maturity to be able to truly understand her side of things, so it's also just sad. A lot of these "spiritual awakenings" or "born-again Christians" are trying to pry some semblance of security, and turns out, religions always the go-to. With her, since it's not BP, it's BPD, I think my mom has a lot of issues with identity as well. And…also, she talks to God, but I don't think that's a special thing with her. xD

It makes your skin crawl because you hate how true it is and couldn’t imagine going back to the light, the way it shines on every dark corner inside of your heart and exposes everything. I get it. But remember the story of the prodigal son. The son left his father and was too ashamed to return. When he finally decided to return to his father, the son was surprised because His father didn’t shame him. He ran to him and embraced him with a kiss and celebrated in his sons return. God is calling you home. He says don’t worry my daughter, I am the lifter of your head. There is nothing of yours I cannot already see. Return to me and I will give you life abundantly. I feel like it’s far too soon. When someone seriously vulnerable like Gabbie has a “born again” experience it’s often followed by some bit of delusions of grandeur and an unquenchable desire to get in everyone’s faces and “save” them by judging them to death. They can be extremely dangerous to others, and self destructive. If someone advised her to get back online, I think they deliberately wanted the world to watch her burn. They definitely don’t have her best interest at heart. If nobody is looking after her right now, shame on her people!

@@Thomassteven00 She literally tried to cancel a r*ape survivor and mother of two children by FABRICATING EVIDENCE to make it seem like she did things that she didn't actually do. She did all of that because she wanted to avoid responsibility for continuing to be friends with her convicted r*apist. None of that is an "oopsy mistake 🤪". Yes, she's allowed to learn to become a better person and move on, but if she doesn't acknowledge what she did and apologize for it, then there is absolutely nothing to prove that she has actually become a better person. People can't just cause a tremendous amount of harm and not be held accountable for it, the world would go to absolute hell if that were the case. We have to demand apologies for evil acts before we allow people to "grow and move on."
@Thomassteven00

@@taylorg2320 I mean she wasn’t friends with the r*pist though in fact from all the evidence he was trying to befriend her for his benefit Gabbie could’ve easily posted a video with him and collab with him like many other influencers were doing (including one of Jessi’s own friends did) she should’ve not made that series and the way she handled everything was just terrible but people online really over exaggerate her association with that man. She should apologize for it for Jessi’s sake and for her own sake as well but it’s ultimately not our apology to accept or not to accept and she should do it privately instead of randomly bringing it up in a video again. Also I never minimized it to a “Oopsy mistake”….

A lot of people use God as an excuse to say "I was saved" but in reality they never change or take respbosibilty and try to make it better for people they harmed. They run from their sins and assume that God is gonna clean them completely. Yes, he forgives but you have to also work and change urself and heal what you have broken. You want a reason to complain about a job? Go work for you local walmart and then come back to me about how hard working actually is, I literally wear out my shoes in literally a month or two just from how much walking is involved not to mention actually lifting boxes and organizing shit and then on top of that having to deal with customers complaining about the lack of cashiers when I'm on the register **being the cashier that helped them get out faster** like, you want a reason to complain work retail. I'm of the opinion working retail for at least a year should be a requirement for **everyone** just so they can get some perspective on how fucking hard the lowest paid people actually have to work just to put up with the bullshit of Karens and other people.
