I think you've forgotten the has she changed part as well, which is a big ol no imo. I genuinely thinks she needs to get offline permanently, get therapy, and find people in her local community to connect with. I couldn't imagine at her big age receiving criticism and immediately attacking someone's personality, talent, and appearance. As bad as drama is for her mental health I genuinely think she's addicted to it, if she wasn't she wouldn't feel the need to constantly bring up trivial things and act like she was physically attacked. She shouldn't be creating anything, videos, books, music, ect. Until she can accept criticism and use it to improve upon herself.

I've seen a few of my friends with ADHD behave like that when they're in the middle of a breakdown/needing medication ASAP to stabilise mood. hey ! wanted to talk a little bit about how tf gabbie hanna ended up at Oxford! so, basically this is Oxford Union, an organisation of the Oxford University that students can get a membership at. The Oxford Union regularly organises interviews and lectures with various guests (from Ben Shapiro to Julia Fox). Though Oxford is a very prestigious university, the interviews organised by the Union are featuring guests that don't necessarily have that "prestigious image " in society. Sometimes, the guests are not even very famous. They are simply people that are somewhat relevant to a part of society nowadays. To attend the interviews, you have to be a member of the union and sign up to be in the audience in advance. ok, I really don't know if this comment brought any explanation to anyone but yeah

22:05 this statement is kinda wild imo as, while there are ebbs and flows in viewership of an influencer, theres a lot of people on youtube who have had a long lasting, sustainable online presence. They just didn’t get into huge, crazy scandals like Gabby did. At the beginning her scandals were something she could’ve easily navigated through with little impact on her channel. But then the scandals became more frequent and more unforgivable. Being an influencer isn’t easy and her mental health did play some part of what happened. But it was her shitty actions that caused the mess in the first place and I don’t think she’s learned that from what she’s saying.

True! When she talks it constantly feels like she is trying to gaslight everyone and pretend that she hasn't had multiiple break downs for the world to see. It kind of comes off as a superiority complex, but underneath you know she is just trying to do the tap dance of her life hoping that she doesn't actually have to address reality. I am glad she seems to be doing better these days, but she still has some serious connections to make and things to work on. People like this, I've seen this behavior in a lot of addicts that I have worked with actually, they will cling to things like religion and spirituality which is fine in and of itself, but they take it a step further and sorta of speak as if they have a better understanding on the topic than anyone else. Instead of speaking authentically and addressing what the whole world saw her experience on tiktok, which she doesn't talk about really because she doesn't want to admit 'defeat' (in her eyes), she's had a huge opportunity here to show humility and humbleness--she would receive soooo much more support. But no she chooses to just talk about why she is a better christian than everyone else and how she is better because she took an internet detox. Her thought process is very immature and defensive still.

some context as someone who went to oxford for a bit - although oxford is pretty prestigious, this is the oxford STUDENT union so they often will invite any speakers who seem interesting to their student base (aka a bunch of gen z kids LOL). i think oftentimes the prestige makes people - including the guests being invited - forget that students are students, and guests arent exactly invited for academic reasons LOL

This is EXACTLY what Jaclyn hill has been trying to do lately. When she’s on a podcast with ppl from her community who know exactly what the history was- she tells one story. When she’s on a pod with people who aren’t from her community she tells a different story every time. Problem is, the same ppl are reviewing & watching the pods. The best thing JH could do, idk why she hasn’t yet, STOPPPP talking about the damn lipsticks for the love of God!! Seems like Gabbie is trying to rewrite history around someone who may not know all the details. She DID need help at a time & just cuz you live in a nice house & your ‘staff’ is paid🤢 doesn’t mean you’re ok internally… she could’ve truly made this a great conversation about peaking on social, leaving & what she’s learned on the other side. Left a message of why it’s not real & not worth your sanity & self esteem.

17:00 As just mere viewer who works 9-5, I have to disagree with the of downplaying what she actually did as a content creator. Gabbie describes it really well. As a person who watched Gabbie during her heights until her downfall, I can see how she worked really hard. Regardless whether people like that content or not, she did gave a lot of thought into her content. She came from a time when most creators just gotta pump out variety of content without leaning into their niche. From doing sketch, challenges, vlogs, story time, writing, singing, merch, you name it she has done it. Watching her vlogs sometimes feel like watching a hamster running on a wheel. So just because you think all it takes is to scream into a mic, doesn't mean she took that approach to get to where she was.
