oh it will. even in my case, i had already left but still struggled with wanting to go back. Gabby's case really struck me, bc watching the bodycam footage is like watching myself- i was just blessed and fortunate enough that my local PD is very educated in and devoted to stopping domestic violence. that was the only real difference between Gabby and me- the police actually saved my life. he even had strangled me (that's what he originally was arrested for), textbook narcissistic abuser. and seeing that now, i'm done ever thinking that abusive man could change because he won't. & at the very least..Gabby won't die in vain, she opened up the conversation around domestic violence and police response to abusive relationships that we've been needing to have for so long now.

And please don’t think “it won’t happen to me.” Gabby surely thought the same. And PLEASE leave when your abuser isn’t home OR call someone like the police who can escort you out. Leaving is the most dangerous time in an abusive relationship. Seek help to heal and stay away from your abuser. I’ve been there and you can have a normal amazing life afterwards. Even if you only leave with the clothes on your back and have kids with the abuser. Your kids don’t deserve to see you unhappy let alone abused. ❤️

Very true. Been in such a relationship before and the whole time I've had no idea that what was happening to me was an abuse just because there was no beating involved. Only accidentally, while looking for ways how to secretly escape, found out that it was actually an abuse (until then just used to feel bad for him during his rages, put downs, verbal abuse, sexual force, taking of my money, etc.).

True it just becomes their normal which is just heartbreaking. People don't leave because the victim always thinks the loving partner they met in the beginning is still in there somewhere not realising the fact that nice version wasn't really them that it was an act. Random killers usually don't strangle strangers, however domestic abusers choke and strangle their significant others. Brian had a choking fetish he killed her during lovemaking and didnt mean to, his plan wasnt to go on a couple month vacation with her to kill her and come back home with her van. They were obliviously in love and his fetish got out of hand and he didnt expect her to stop breathing forever. He probably regreted it right away and thats why he took her body less then a mile away from the van. It was never his intent to kill her. You can't protect every person, especially when you don't know them and their situation. It's easy to say that the police or her parents should have done this or that after the fact. But the truth is that she was an adult and the only one that could have let people help her before her death and reach out to others. You can't help someone that wasn't willing to help themselves by getting out of a dangerous situation. If anyone had tried to force her to leave Brian then she would have just alienated herself from them.

They said her body was found 3 to 4 weeks after she died. Due to the environment she was in, most DNA would've likely been destroyed after 7-21 days in the full open elements unless otherwise preserved by other means. But i think theyre just trying to entise him in alive with just the fraud charge then theyll slap murder ontop of that once they arrest him for fraud.

Some cops dont think of domestic violence as a crime. The victim is usually just a woman, after all. I had to call 911 about a year ago. The cops that came not only refused to arrest him, even though he had thrown & hit me with a heavy metal shelf, the next morning they called my landlord & got me evicted. Narcissists strangle more than any other method when they resort to killing; because when someone threatens their ego, they literally want to end the source of their image failure. This is what happens when you have a very high-toned person constantly annoying a very low-toned person. In other words, Gabby was carefree and full of zest and this Brian character was very likely a somber and angry individual putting on a social veneer to appear carefree and full of zest. At some point, this will always be an explosive combination as the Gabby-type is always trying to pull up the Brian-type and the Brian-type is always trying to pull down the Gabby-type. I'd be willing to bet this became magnified by a close quarters trip across the country. The real personality characteristics came out. Particularly Brian's.

If he is going to be put to death he should have a trail first, innocent until proven guilty is the way we do things. if found guilty then he would most likely be made an example of on national tv. 3. you would have to live with being that one person who killed someone before justice was properly served and alot of people would be mad at you.

The fact that the attack on her body continued after the several minutes it already took to actually kill her and not just render her unconscious with just hands, definitely points to a crime of passion.

Strangulation is so up close and personal. You’re looking into the person’s eyes as you’re draining their life away. It’s the final “shutup” from the abuser. Final and permanent. Laundrie and all abusers deserve to die screaming.

@Syn Cloud No. I’ve been there. I forgave my ex-husband right up until his second wife called me asking for help to get away from him like I did. He had beaten and strangled her into unconsciousness in front of their baby… I helped her.

Definitely in a rage. I feel so bad. Mm y guess, the more she fought the more rage he had. He's a murderer and in need of major help if guilty. And it definitely looks like he is. And he's proving that himself by his actions then and since. My heart aches for this young lady. A sweet girl with her whole life ahead of her. And all she wanted to do was make the most of life's journey. It's hard, it hits you by in n the gut and stays there. Why, why why??? So senseless.

LEAVE at the FIRST sign that you're in a toxic relationship! Don't make excuses and don't lie to yourself about the person being sorry and willing to change. If you don't leave after the first sign you might not get a second chance.

I wish the police officer who told Gabby he had a daughter her age would have had an inner voice to let him know she needed him to help her....he could of arrested her for hitting her abuser so she could make that 1 phone call to her Dad or Mom. They would have helped her. And l wonder how the two police feel now ...esp the one who was laughing with Brian...(l am not blaming them) but l wish they could make a statement. Rest in Peace Gabby.❤❤❤
