Thank you for posting this video. I am learning a lot by watching and listening. I used to own a S-10 4x4 Blazer, never really got "off-road" much with it other than launching a boat or crossing a stream here and there or maybe a small trail back to a fishing spot. That was about it. Then I lost my leg from the knee down, and now being bored I go and pull up KZbin videos of off roading...and every other video has a Jeep in it. I got curious and started asking questions, doing research, and found out Jeeps are pretty reliable. So I went and bought one from my Neighbor from His backyard. I got a '97 Jeep GC/ZJ/TSi 4x4 fully loaded with every option for $ 1,000 cash. The new front Differential is being installed tomorrow morning, and if all goes well, I'll have it in the back yard driveway by 5:00pm, grab my stuff and go top off the tank, then hit this place I've been told about by 5:30pm, engage 4 low and proceed to see for myself if any trail can be run down through the brush and small trees, to gain access to a bend in the river farther upstream where there is a deep pool visible by Google Earth. Yes, I bought a Jeep, to fix it up, to go trail cutting to gain access to a hidden deep pool in the North Holston River just a few miles down the road as the Crow flies a spell... There aren't many vehicles that would be able to go as many places as our '99 Wrangler could but this Grand Cherokee might be on that short list. Of course, it helps that the person behind the steering wheel is a driver (not merely a motor vehicle operator). And thanks for not using "music".

Nick Donadio I don't think so, he always runs with 4-Lo when offroading so I doubt it was in 4-Hi but I can't remember! Note that he still runs factory gears (3.73).

Sosa Yep, my buddy severely trimmed the wheel arches and bumper for them to fit snuggly! He also says he moved the front axle forward quite a bit.

pepe de teoti i have a 94 grand cherokee and it has the same engine i love it i also have a 03 grand cherokee and it has the 6 cylinder engine and i do not like it as much as my 94 it has more power it has 245,000 miles on it original transmission and engine and let me tell you i have abused that thing its whole life in short... YES its a beast of a engine its a 5.2l magnum look it up its not the only car Chrysler put in a car there are a couple others but not alot

yeah they are pretty rare heretoo. not really the 98 model but the 98 5.9. I have seen a lot of 5.2s but not the 5.9. and no i have had it now for about a year and it hasnt overheated yet. there is a little delay sometimes on the turnover but thats about it. awesome vehicle. lots of power.

It's not perfect but the only major issue is the plenum gasket but Hughes Engines has a kit for that which solves the problem forever... It's an awesome V8 engine that is very popular! It loves fuel though so be prepared to spend some money on it... Check out my 5-speed swap demonstration video! :-)
