When I cut, I can get down to 8% easily by a deficit alone. But then I always hit a plateau and that’s where carb cycling kicks in. That’s the tool I use to get from lean to shredded. Works every time

I have a question I keep trying to find videos explaining the break down of different types of carb cycling schedules and can’t really find any. I had hit a plateau in my weight loss and someone told me to add literally only a slightly higher amount of carbs one day a week. And see if it didn’t help. It was only 200 calories more and I dropped a few more pounds instantly. I like the idea of keeping my calories mostly the same if possible for the sake of meal planning but how do you know when you need to switch it up??? How do you know when you need 2 higher carb days and not 1?? Or that you do need those low & medium days???

Interesting topic you touched at 3 minutes in the video. Could you do some research about 'fat' cycling and try to find any reasons why carb cycling would be better? If there's no difference and energy levels are not the problem, calorie cycling should work just as well, not?

Please someone teach me how to calculate macros ! Il give someone my information and could they just tell me the macros.
@jackhawkins51047 жыл бұрын
First you need to calculate you maintenance. to do this take your body weight in pounds, so for example say you weigh 160 pounds, then you multiple that by 14-16 depending on how active you are. If you go the gym and that basically it your gonna be closer to that 14, if your on your feet a lot then closer to 16. lets say your in the middle so 160x15=2400calories, this is a rough estimate of your maintenance calories. In order for you to be eating adequate protein then you should set your protein at around 1-1.2 grams when cutting/ 0.8-1 gram when bulking per pound of body weight so 160 grams of protein would be a good estimate to start. To find you fat, multiple your body weight by 0.3-0.4. so the ranges for your fat intake would be 48-64. depending if your a person who like to eat more fats than carbs or more carbs than fats you could pick anywhere between that range ti set your fat but lets just say you set it at 55. you have 160 grams of protein and 55 grams of fat so the rest of your calories should be taken up by carbs so how do to do this is multiple 160 grams of protein by 4 which =640, and 55 grams of fat by 9=495. add these two together 640+495=1135 take that away from you overall calories so 2400-1135=1265calories to be taken up by carbs. to find out how many grams that is just divide it by 4 1265 divided by 4= 316.25 so call it about 317 grams of carbs. So say you were a 160 pound individual who was moderately active your maintenance macros would be 160 grams of protein 55 grams of fat 317 grams of carbs hope this helps. don't hesitate to tag me if you want any further information good luck :)
