The cat climbing the ladder near the beginning is a munchkin breed (basically "dachshund" cats), so their legs are too short for proper stair/ladder climbing, hence the hopping method.

That cat is a serval, they’re wild cats. Lots of people buy them as “Savannahs” thinking they’re legitimately house cats, but there’s a huge black market for them. It’s always sad to see them like this, they should be in the wild where they belong

Yes its a wild "large" cat, but many have cross-bred them to certain domestics to try create a domestic breed, however it's difficult to eliminate the wild nature of this species. It's still deemed illegal to import both wild and "domesticated" variants of this species into many areas of the USA, including California* and Hawai'i. *ye can in Cali IF you have certain licenses and only if it's not a pure breed. In Hawai'i, it's flatly a NO, period.

Actually, I believe that is a Savannah cat, which is about 70% serval and 30% domestic cat…..most places savannah cats are legal (not all).

@@davidbennett1357 If it is a savannah (which I doubt it is). If it is a savannah, it has to be an F1 or an F2 at most and they, like servals, require a special permit to own because they’re so wild. F3, F4, and so on down the lineage are genetically more domestic house cat than its predecessor.

I'm proud to say my family has so far rescued 9 cats, a dog and a budgie that got lost/were abandoned in our neighborhood, found them homes or brought them to good shelters (and kept one cat ourselves) but I must admit I admire those who do the entire rehabilitation of the animals they rescue as well. The most we could do was socialize the feral ones just enough so they would let themselves be handled and trust us to enter a transport cage to eat, and that took us a reaaaally long time (those cats were just too smart to be trapped). I think two entire years of just feeding, petting and making shelters in the winter in one little cat's case. That was so stressful, especially in the winter when we weren't sure if she was going to use the shelters and be warm enough, and having to replace the water bowl often so it wouldn't freeze, we were glad to finally bring her to a good shelter that took care of medical treatments, further socialization and looking for a home. She was adopted several months after :)

We did that last year for a street cat. She was such a sweetheart and always came to us for cuddles, we took her in and she had such a good time in the nice warm house (it was almost winter). Sadly she was too sick and died a few days later, but we are very happy that she still had a good time in her last days, she was so happy to be cozy in our house. We called her Bedeltje (Dutch) and I still think of her very often ❤❤❤

I know how you feel. It's been six years since my 18 year old Calico Maine Coon passed. She went in her sleep of old age. I miss her so much. She had the perfect name Sassy because that is how she acted. I would have two cats now but one of my neighbors saw fit to poison one of them and he died from it because I was completely unaware of it as he's outside most of the time so I don't always see him. He was named Tiger due to his Tabby tiger stripes. His friend Molly is all I have left.

I have African snails myself - not quite as big ones, though. Anyway, they actually love water. We use a spray bottle to keep the humidity up (they love anything between 75 and 90%) and all the snails bend upwards and try to get sprayed directly. It's really cute.

Tiger reminds me of Mr. Kitty, a stray who chose my family when I was a kid. He was a tabby with a similar build, round head. Lots of scars, nobody knew where he came from, but he was a sweetie with a philosophy all his own. ❤ Also the massive black thing on my lap was a stray. Now he’s practically glued to my legs 😂

i've also used to know a cat like tiger. he really looked like he'd been trough a lot ... We always fed him, but you couldnt dare pet him at all. The only one that was allowed, close to him was our own cat. they always were laying in the garden like a old married couple. We took care of him, taken him once to the vet to make him all fit again, Build a house for him for the cold days , and on his last days, u could see that he will be going soon, He visited us once more, . i think to say goodbye , and getting pet for once. he left after that and we never saw him again. But i think he knew , those ~9 years he was always welcome.

0:30 There are breeds of cat that typically like water, a few breeds that sometimes do and sometimes don't and normal breeds of cat occasionally get a weirdo that likes water. Also if you get a cat used to baths when they are little, they won't freak out when they get older about it. My parents rescued a kitten that was taken from its mother too young and never learned to groom himself. He needed frequent baths and didn't really mind them.

My dog does similar shuffles at my dad’s dog to initiate play (she likes to get under his chin and shuffle like that, sometimes making these funny cute gremlin noises as she does so). And yeah, foxes make a slew of whacky noises. My other dog, a puppy, makes a lot of hilarious noises, especially during play, and I like to jokingly call him a fox Wookiee because of it. I think with the open mouth thing, the cat was smelling the food on their breath…. not sure why he reached a paw in (and pretty far at that) though. 11:07 That looks like a parrotlet (literally exactly what it sounds like, a small parrot). My mom has one and he’s also blue like that (though like many parrots they can also be colors like green or yellow). Our cat also does a lot of cute little meows like some of these videos. She also likes to play and just hang out with the dogs, especially my puppy (she takes advantage of his size as it enables him to fit through the cat door on the laundry room door so she can easily bring him in there for company, which she loves company while she eats, and I’ve actually watched her many times get his attention and lead him in, also uses it for games with him). She also often rubs up on the dogs and meows at them very similarly to how she meows at us for attention (and I know it’s directed at the dogs because she looks directly at them and I’ve seen her look directly at my puppy, do her attention wanting meow, and turn to head through her cat door for him to follow her). She’ll run up to my puppy and flop onto her back with her arms raised over her head and playfully bat at him. They have several full on specific games they play together, some using things like the cat door, blankets, her “crinkle tube”. She’s basically identified him as her perfect dog companion due to the ways they can play since they’re similar size and weight, his impressive gentleness and responsiveness in play, the company he can give and how she can bring him into basically her room for that hang out time, and that he *will* follow her (my other older dog is also small and can fit through the cat door but she doesn’t respond the same way as she doesn’t realize the cat wants her to follow her and also trying to get her to chase doesn’t work as she likes being the one chased - having a humorous history of trying and failing to get rabbits to chase her in particular - and she just doesn’t respond to the cat’s cues for play in general, so now that the puppy is here the cat is really capitalizing on the ideal companion).
