The 'problem' lies in the comparison with Ahsoka from Rebels, at that time she is also more mature but there she had that spirit of wisdom and tranquility without the bitterness and seriousness that Rosario has portrayed at times. Despite everything, they are just details and I love the series

Well, most of the Ahsoka we see in Rebels is an Ahsoka who doesn't know that Anakin is Darth Vader. After that, it's fairly obvious through her interactions with Vader and others that something changed within her. The knowledge that her master was now a Sith Lord broke her on some level, and that's how we end up with how Ahsoka is now. What we see in the Ahsoka series is Ahsoka finally coming to terms with that knowledge, finally finishing that fight on Malachor. She moves on, and she becomes happier for it.

Bruh what is up with people criticizing portrayals of characters because they don't understand how emotions, traumas and someone's past can affect people. Like I can kinda understand the criticism of Luke in the sequels. But then there were people critical of Kenobi and now Ahsoka. Like do these people have perfect lives? Or do they simply like Star Wars to be a pure form of escapism and not be comfronted with themselves eventhough these stories also kinda delve into how to cope with these troubles?

@user-sk4nt5bm5r Жыл бұрын
Your comment is a bit weird. It seems not to be about the video?
@ironmammoth7 Жыл бұрын
@@user-sk4nt5bm5r In Clone Wars the animated series, which is canon, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka find these almost all-powerful force beings who live in a force realm called Mortis. The Father (balanced), the Son (dark side), and the Daughter (light side) are the three beings and son wants to destroy the father and the daughter so he can steal the Jedi ship and escape the realm. In the episode Ahsoka is killed and the daughter who is mortally wounded uses her remaining force power to revive Ahsoka and cleanse the dark side from her. Many believe that Ahsoka is now the daughter as the daughter had a connection with a bird Morai and now Ahsoka has that bond. The father grief stricken then kills himself and when the son responds in disbelief Anakin kills the son. So, they are now all dead.... or are they? I think that OP was noting how far Ahsoka has slipped from the light (torturing prisoners) and for her to be the "daughter" that is a correction that only the "father" could make. I didn't make that leap while watching this as I just felt it was Anakin's force ghost and all he was in life. The good, the bad, and ugly. Ahsoka needed to see that and realize the war really changed Anakin and not her leaving him. Also, she needed see what would happen to her if she continued down this path. Also, she needed to get her confidence back after getting beaten by Baylan. No better way than knowing that you can best Anakin/Vader. So, to me the whole episode was awesome, as is the series. So far, my favorite of the Star Wars TV shows without question.

The biggest thing that affects her mentally is finding out Anakin is Vader. That doesn't happen until much later in the show, and she wouldn't have been able to really sit and dwell on it until after the rebellion/war - that's when she became much more stoic
@JackFlicks Жыл бұрын
Not an inconsistency as in Rebels she didn't find out until later on that her master became Vader.
@Raii_Chu Жыл бұрын
(Edit: The identity of Vader is revealed to her in Rebels) She holds a lot of blame of Anakin becoming Vader because she left the Jedi temple and Anakin. Anakin becoming Vader resulted in thousands of Jedi and innocent dead which in Ahsoka's mind would be partially herself to blame. That is some heavy feelings to haul around for a decade.

I thought it's was cool how filoni was playing the long game. However, she didn't seem so stoic in rebels. Which begs the question: "what made her that way since rebels?" "Will we get something to fill us in?" "Was it something when she was training Sabine?"
@ironmammoth7 Жыл бұрын
While she isn't stoic in Rebels that is true, however after facing Vader and making the realization that he is her former master she does become more aloof. Much more serious in later seasons. Honestly, I feel that she is more comfortable training Sabine because she can never have the power that true Jedi wields. At that time, she blamed herself for Vader, and I betting she was afraid that if she trained say Grogu he would become another Vader. At least with Sabine, she can help her to be a better warrior, but she will never become more powerful than Ahsoka. That fear was tainting her.

Intention ≠ execution; Dave didn’t offer Rosario any internal conflict to Ahsoka’s portrayal in the (4) episodes to have her confront in the 5th - he bleached and muted the characterization, which is coincidentally very easy to write 🤔 1st episode: Ahsoka is chasing Thrawn for no good reason, but ok; has the map but instead if destroying it to deny whoever is trying rescue Thrawn, asks Sabine to decipher… ok… both characters know the other has goals that don’t match the other’s, but don’t have an argument about it? Hire a drama writer, a dialogue coach, or a troupe of theater geeks and stop wasting screentime: Han already frozen in carbonite had more drama than the pages Dave gave Rosario
