It's not even just on the PF of this current patch, Hertha is straight up the best PF unit for practically forever. Even a 5s unit like her gets released, she'd still be amazing in PF. Hertha's follow-up attacks are easier to proc than Himeko's, Xueyi's and JY (I won't count Ratio and Topaz since they're mostly for single targets). And due to PF mobs being really squishy, she just ends up spinning over and over again. If you have her sig. LC on high superimposition, she gets even better.

Herta is legit an awesome sub dps! She is part of my dual dps rotation, with Xueyi, Jing Yuan, Susheng and Blade. She rocks with DHIL against the weekly bug boss 👍🏻

Actually the most important thing to know about little Gui is that fire kiss procs immediately off of technique, potentially multiple times. Otherwise you have to wait till her ult or their turn for even a single proc.

This is very niche but if you're an achievement hunter & just starting the game, there is one specific achievement; "The meaning of choice" that is very easy to miss. Basically you need to pick 3 gender specific dialog option depending on your chosen mc, the problem is you only got 4/5 times where your choices will trigger the achievement count (as of 2.0) and all are very early in the game story.

@@kplayer2000 I guess I was lucky cause I have really no Idea how she did it. I got e6 March her skill is 9/12 her def 2700 and the lightcone with her and Pom-Pom at s5. I put her in a team with sparkle Tingyun and Jing Yuen vs Gepard I guess Gepard is just not that offensive. But I think I will definitely invest more in March. It’s not the first time she helped me out.

Some of the examples in the video (such as Herta) really highlights that Hoyo's game design philosophy has shifted from "new contents to make old characters obsolete", a common practice in predatory gacha games, to "new contents to make old characters viable". It's consistent with many successful live service games (such as WoW) in the past and I think it's great for the longevity of the game.

I'm kinda worried this is only gonna be a one time thing. Personally, I don't think they made PF to make old characters viable. Rather, they wanted to make the Erudition path viable. When MoC was the only endgame players didn't have much reason to play erudition units, which essentially killed an entire path of present and future characters. I think they recognized this as a problem and decided to make PF so their more aoe units can also have a place to shine. IMO they did this to boost their future erudition unit sales rather than boost the viability of older characters. Hope they prove me wrong, but I'm still vary for now.

Fr Fr. She's the 2nd unit I got to E6, and d**n, she can actually dish out some good damage if you somehow won in the sub stats game. Granted, you'd want GNSW to really make her work as debuffer + sub dps, which isn't efficient since Resolution is so much better for nihility supports.

i dont play any DOT teams and i dont have kafka but guinaifen IS SO GOOD. she helped me so much and she's very fun to play. she's very cool for pure fiction with himeko and useful for bosses in MOC fpr example. she really does not need kafka and DOT team to be good. love her sm

Well, Kafka isn't exactly a requirement for DoTs. Reason why you want to have Kafka in DoT teams is to triple-dip on your DoT damage. Kafka will trigger all DoTs on the enemies with her ult and skill, then the enemies will receive DoT dmg on their turn, so you can deal DoT dmg 3 times. This is actually why you shouldn't really ignore crit on Kafka. Since the damage of those DoTs scales on the units that applied them, you can instead do a Crit Kafka to raise her personal damage which then adds up with the damage of your DoTs.

@@pwedesaddina8695 I mean... the break effects for all DoT elements are also DoTs... For example, it's not entirely fair to say that Serval's break is stronger than Arlan's break. The lightning break effect is Shock, a DoT, so realistically speaking the DoT unit is the better breaker than the direct DPS. It's not that people ignore that fact, it's more like it's not really something we need to talk about. If we're talking about the other break effects (imprison, freeze, and Entanglement) then we'd actually have some competition.

I've found that Guinaifen works very well with Dr. Ratio, just like Pela due to how many debuffs she can apply to ensure a 100% follow-up attack, specially if she uses the 4-star light cone Resolution Shines that can add a debuff with any attack.

If I may add good characters for begginers that are often underlooked: Yanqing - he was my guaranteed 5 star and since I wasn't interested in Seele he carried me through the toughest content and despite me being lvl 70 I still have fun with him just give him March or Gepard if you have him and he'll be fine, everyone loves to exaggerate how frail he is /also amazing on rememberance path in SU Arlan - he does really good dmg and is very skill point efficient, his ultimate charges really quickly too so he's good for big aoe or st dmg, you just need to look out for his hp /also amazing on destruction path in SU Bailou - her only drawback from current healer lineup is not having a cleanse but honestly you can get that from someone else like bronya or march so once you cover that she's pretty insane healer, healing you on enemy hit, reducing dmg taken with her last trace and reviving once per battle

I don't want to be that person, especially since I'm fond of these characters myself, but they're not "good" they require a lot of investment to be at the same level as some other characters or their skills aren't as useful as other characters you can get more easily. To use Yanqing to his full potential he would have to not take any DMG and if he does, he can't lose any HP or his buff gets dispelled. People don't normally use him because you would have to invest in characters that can either decrease edirect argo or characters that have tanky shields. The only one to my knowledge that can do both is Gepard, a 5 star. Although people can get him in their 300 pulls for standard banner some players might not want to use him or they already got Yanqing, his overly conditional talent hinders his play style and the risk isn't worth it. To add, he's a hunt character. The only Hunt characters that currently have some sort of relevance are Ratio, Seele, and Topaz. The current state of the game doesn't seem to favor the use of Hunt characters. Arlan is a "high risk, low reward" type of character. He has HP draining mechanics but no real self sustain to back it up, knowing that, he should at least do tons of DMG to make up for it but he doesn't. Blade (and Jingliu in a way) took over😂. I will say I know Arlan was OP in beta so they nerfed him but as he is currently, I wouldn't say he's worth it. Especially since there are a plethora of Destruction characters. Bailu is a bit different compared to the other 2. Her kit isn't bad and she's not "weak" (for a support) but she doesn't have the main component a lot of other healers have which is cleanse. Although there are ways to work around this, it's easier to just use another healer. I'm saying this as someone who loves her character design very much. The only thing Bailu really has going for her is her bounce heal skill (which can be useless when the bounce hits characters that don't need to be healed) and her revive which CAN be useful to beginners but as they progress and invest more in their other units, shell become more useless since a revive isn't always needed especially when your units are strong enough to take hits. I don't mean to say that these characters are bad or that that should be overlooked, but there are reasons why and I wouldn't say invest in them unless you like their character design or play style enough.

No one here is saying they're better than limited 5 star characters because of course they're not that's the natural way of gacha games.

I agree with the Bailu part... My Bailu solo sustained Conundrum 12.. and she never once used her skill. People who rely on her skill for heals mean they don't know how to play her, don't have her built well or don't have teams with decent survivability. She brings more than a rez and heals, she brings HP increase, Damage Reduction and a small energy regen all on her ult, and the only sustain with a built in rez (others you have to spend for in Eidolons). True she doesn't have a cleanse, but in the current MoC (and most if I recall) have one side that doesn't even have any CC in the fight, so the cleanse is unnecessary. Granted I wouldn't use her in Pure Fiction, Fu and Huo definitely are way better there, if you use sustain at all. Yeah, I wouldn't recommend Yanqing to any F2P or new player sadly. The game just isn't designed for him currently. That may change, but currently he's just isn't as good as literally any other ice dps, and as the above person stated, way too specifically needy in a team build. Same with Arlan, Serval (who is also free) is just better in every way. The high risk, high reward playstyle is really hard to work around as well, again, you usually need a good shielder to keep him alive, otherwise you have to heal him up and nerf his damage or live in constant fear of him getting one shot. But to echo the above commenter, yes, all characters are viable in this game, can even shine in certain scenarios. If you love the character, play them. I have both Bailu and Yanqing built and even play them both.. but I'm a whale and can afford to do so, but new players or low spenders? They need to be a little picky.

@maximumtaste That's true. These characters are relatively easy to obtain, but there are other units that are just as easy to obtain who function better from a f2p standpoint. Like Serval, Nat, March, Asta, even Dan (although he's a Hunt). But yeah, the only reason I'd say to use these characters are because they're easier than most to get and/or they're appealing to you in some other way.

Only actual reason why Yanqing isn't as frequently used IMO is exactly because of how much you need to baby him. Without March, he won't work properly since he'd most likely get hit, which means he'll lose his passive, which means a big deduction in his damage for one rotation. But if you have Gepard, then yeah, he WILL work. And he does have good single target damage. He's also easy to build since his ult gives him bonus stats after casting it. Arlan suffers the same problem. You don't want healers with Arlan, cause healers are not synergetic with his traces. You WILL have to use either March or Gepard to baby him too. But Arlan does have some okay damage, although, later on Arlan falls off. Since things at higher level will kill him as fast as you can shield him. It doesn't help that we're now at 2.0 but we still don't have any other shielders than Gepard and March 🤣 I'm not counting Fire MC since their shield is really small (I have a 3.2K def Fire MC and her shield breaks in one hit) their main highlight is the taunt.

I'd go for Himeko since new characters are usually better to have than more Eidolons as it gives you more options in the future, and you already have her LC so even more reason to get her.

Himeko if either you like her (so you are gonna use it) or you are having problems with Pure Fiction (Herta+Himeko goes brrrr) Bronya if not (Bronya is the best, but it is pretty good at E0 and I don't really know how much she improves with Eitholons)

The thing about Guinaifen is that a lot of new players just underestimate or overlook damage over time based characters, some probably just picked Guinaifen just once, and saw that she barely did damage with her skill, then dropped her.

Although I hate animalgirls and boys I fell in love in Tingyun and Tighnari at first sight. Tingyun is one of my favourite in this game and fortunately I have e6 Tingyun. Her playstyle is really good and easy to play with her. You can also get her and her eidolons quite easy, I can agree that she is one of the best 4 star characters.

I've just started playing and have Lynx at lvl 60 but haven't leveled Serval as she just didn't seem to hit hard vs a Welt or Herta although I can't get passed the red hair bloke that shows up on the train, so perhaps I need to build some other characters 😂

ok i will help you here buddy , saw the only dps you have are ratio and clara , i reccomend you to build dr ratio , sparkle , pela and gepard for your 1st team . focus all your resource on completing this team of your . Your second team would be clara , yukong , Tingyuan ( if you have her , if not just put asta ) and a lynx ( you get her and yukong for free anyway ). this team can clear most of MOC .

Im new player, so im kinda dumb rn about hsr But would Acheron (that im saving golden pass to pull), be good in a team with March 7th? (now if you ask why her, is simple: her name is literally March 7th, and my birthday is literally on that day xD. Thats also why i started the game literally 2 days ago btw) Currently my team is March 7th - Pela - Asta - Clara (with Clara E1, and March E1 too i think). You want to have two Nihility units to get Acheron's whole potential. She is similar to Ratio, both of them wants debuffs on enemies, but Acheron have traces that grants her more stats if you have two nihility units in the team (excluding Acheron herself). You can do a combination of Pela (def shred) and Guinaifen (dmg vulnerability debuff). The 4th slot in Acheron's team is either a sustain or a flex slot. You CAN put march in that flex slot if you want.

Asta's speed buff is actually insane in the recent end-game stuff, because we've been getting buffs that say "the enemies will get nuked based on how many times you perform this one action", so right now, getting an extra turn is way better than doing twice the damage in a single turn.

You started at the right time. Iirc, the free Dr. Ratio will be gone after like... 2.1(?). Anyways, though he'd be hard to use during the early game, as you get more units, he'd get easier. My only advice is, us your TL energy to farm ascension and trace level materials. Don't bother getting any relics yet. Just slap in whatever's good and level those up. During the early game, character's levels and trace levels have more impact than relics. Since in this game... we can't exactly dodge like we do in Genshin HAHAHAHA you will need all those extra stats from leveling up.

Hm if someone sees this I wanted to ask a question. I started in 2.0, am TR44 now, have Sparkle and her LC(pulled just for fun) and just recently I got Bronya. Should I build Bronya if I have Sparkle? Or is it "low priority"?

You should build both. Later on you will need 2 teams to tackle an endgame mode so both of them will be extremely helpful. You can even use them in the same team if you want to, but that'll require some relic investment

However currently I barely have 1 team functioning (Ratio Lynx Sparkle Welt), and I am thinking what should be my second team. The only other damage dealer I have is QQ E3. I have 70 pulls saved so I can probably pull Acheron, however I don't have nice teammates nor LC for her. Only Guinaifen or Sampo, I wonder if they are enough. What do you think, should I go for her, or skip for some other character?

You should build both. But Prioritze Sparkle first. Sparkle is a lot more versatile than Bronya due to her skill points generation and damage buffing. Then, build Bronya once you already have a 2nd team. Don't waste your TL energy on Bronya yet, until you're done building your first team. Cause you're gonne end up benching a built unit just cause you have no team to put her on. Which would mean wasted time and resources.

I more or less have a single team ready with Ratio Lynx Sparkle Welt. But I am not sure now what second team should I build. I'm a day one player, and Gepard has become more helpful the longer I've played. His freeze chance and shield have some really strong niches in MOC and sim universe.

Funny enough, if you have his Sig. LC, you can actually have 100% up time on his shield without using his skill at all. You'd get enough energy for his ult by the time the shields are about to run out. I was playing Gold and Gears with a mono-ice JL team. I was fighting the swarms, I was down to just Gepard and Jingliu, and it's funny cause Gepard just keeps getting hit and by the time his shield is about to get destroyed, he can ult again, keeping my JL alive to exterminate the insects.🤣

you should avoid farming relics until trailblaze level 45-50-ish and for the second one i think you can decide for yourself if you like character or not

Remember that sustain characters play a vital role in hsr. Lynx, Natasha and bailu can carry you in early game but a 5 star limited sustain is almost a necessity in later stages. It is recommended to pull for luocha, huo huo, fu xuan or the upcoming aventurine if you wish to progress from mid to late game.

just tried HSR for the first time and this video just conveniently popped up while im in the midgame part. Too much info tbh for casual players, heck even beginners. Will play on my own pace, i still have genshin to worry but I am happy that HSR has many endgame content for me to play when i eventually hit the max equi/trailblazer level

To be fair, this whole video can practically be summed up like this; 1. Guinaifen is really worth it. BUT you shouldn't prioritize her honestly speaking. 2. Qingque is only really worth it if you have her. Unless you have Mono Quantum (FuXuan, SW, Sparkle) don't build your Qingque until you get her to E4. 3. Pela and Tingyun are the best f2p supports and should be prioritized. Asta is secondary since she's a little more specific. 4. Build Hertha for PF since she'll forever be useful in PF. 5. Each Standard 5s units are unique in their own way (the fifth one is actually the most useless info since you don't need to know what each standard 5s is good at unless you already have them).

The challenge as F2P is hitting the balance between building as many team archetypes as possible (namely Hypercarry, DOT, and FUA), and be careful _not_ spreading our resources too thin between all these characters. As always, it requires patience to build this many characters. My account is set up for a decent enough Hypercarry teams, but not so good on DOT and FUA. So that's an additional challenge for me. But again, I'm the type of gacha player who is playing to collect characters that I love. So, sweating over the endgame content doesn't seem to be as worth it to me anyway, haha. 🤣

Tip: Don't torture yourself trying to complete MoC and PF with all the stars. If you don't have the META Supports it's almost impossible to completely clear Memory of Chaos without a lot of luck and godly Relics and in Pure Fiction either you have the right characters and it's a piece of cake or you don't and it's a nightmare.

Just decent relics with some good 4 star supports are already enough to clear MoC, if you know what you’re doing. I supposed it’s not that hard to get Tingyun and Pela for supports.

use whichever healer you want, but healers with a cleanse (like Nat and Lynx) can help with that hp bar drain mechanic she has. Any damage dealers with physical, lightning or ice, Sushang is a good unit and quite underrated you could also try herta or serval or maybe you have someone else with one of these elements. If you struggle to survive you can double up on sustain by mixing Nat or Bailu with a preservation like March or M/C.

I would say use serval instead of dan to help you weakness break her, when she debuffs your team you can have march and nat cleanse it, also you don't really need to use trailblazer taunt since almost all her stuff is multi target. I will say this your probably gonna hit a wall later down the at the end of the lufou story cause of the boss. So you will need to spend time getting some okay gear and level up traces. Fire trailblazer and march use defense so get knight of purity gear and belebog planar ornament, natasha just slap hp stats on her, sizzling thunder for serval attack stat, and for asta you can get the speed set for her on the lufou.
