See this video for the latest firmware on the TF1260 (running LC060 at 94Mhz!!!) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mILKYWWLpdiaasU Also - my guess of £250 might be a bit high. The figure in the annotation there was approx $300 to $350. So for UK currency, maybe between £180 and £200 ish? A lot of money, but in terms of Amiga prices - that's darn cheap to get up and running with an 060. I also worked out a number of thing related to ScummVM 1.5.0 that help with its performance - I have it running a LOT better now.

A tip: Use at least three times more flux and just hold the chip down with some tweesers while you slide the soldertip with enough solder left to right a few times. The solder will sit much better and won't bridge. With too little flux, you'll burn it off before it can do it's job properly.

I would really love an 030 with tons of ram in my 1200. It is still stock config (not upgraded at all)
@ridiculous_gaming3 жыл бұрын
Since you can grab a 50mhz 030 chip for $40 that is really great for compatibility while a full blown 060 is literally $600 today and LC models without the Math coprocessor have issues. Besides there are no real Amiga games that need more than an 030 anyway. Quake can be run fine via a 15 year old PC laptop, and I don't run my Amiga for Quake, but original Amiga titles.
@brostenen3 жыл бұрын
@@ridiculous_gaming The issue with Amiga, is the price of accelerators. If you can find an accelerator that delivers only CPU and Ram, then you need to source used ones from back then. And they are up around some 476 to 634 US dollars here in Europe. Plus shipping. And they usually only come with no Ram or just 8mb. I just dont need what the modern ones offer. Like extra ports and maprom. I only want 030 and 64 to 128mb Ram and nothing more. Basically, there are nothing on the market, and if something comes on the market, then it will be sold out within 1 day and will never get sold again. What we need, is a cheap basic CPU and Ram accelerator. A bit like the TF1260, just without any IDE port or clockport or maprom. And that is simply not avaliable. It is fine that we can buy cheap CPU's, but without any card to stick it in, then it does not matter at all.

You could try that, it may work just the same as it does on the A4000, but it might not - depends how Gayle works with the IDE there on the 1200. Personally I just boot from the onboard IDE and add the EIDE on the TF1260 as an additional drive.

Nice. I was waiting a couple of years for TF1260, started waiting when it was just a rumour. Then everything went to hell and I ended up buying Apollo 1260. I'm glad I did, otherwise I still wouldn't have an 1260. It's weird you're getting only 1.6 and 1.8 MB/s on both IDE and EIDE. On my A1200 I can't get below 2 MB/s (max A1200 IDE speed) on Apollo 1260 and ACA1233. Could be your CF cards and/or adapters play a role here. I'm using Kingspec PATA SSDs with PFS3 in my Amigas. Looking forward to see how fast TF1260 is with PIO4. FastATA Mk7 for my A4000 is on the way. I wonder how fast it will be with 060 100 MHz. 10+ MB/s would be nice but I have doubts it will be that fast, even with PIO4.
@GadgetUK1643 жыл бұрын
The EIDE has shot up with the latest update! 5MB/s But I've only ever had around 1.6MB/s on the onboard IDE. It could be because those drives are using the standard filesystem and default block size.
