I never understand why boat manufacturers of trailered boats use tiny backplates for the bow eye.

@@joefolan9955 I used a cordless WORX brand reciprocating/jig saw. I used a saw blade made for metal because it’s thin for making the curve and has small teeth so it doesn’t split the fiberglass.

I didn’t see you reach in to retrieve the cut out piece but I know you did. Clean job, we’re the bow eye bolts tight enough? Hope you have more off season projects for us to enjoy!

I did retrieve the new cutout. But since you mention it…the manufacturer left a cutout in the bilge and it drives me a little crazy every time I see it! Everything was tight so I’m thinking I will just rough up the outside, apply some MarineTex and sand to deal with the small cracks and chips around the bow eye.
