Wow! G.P. Dr.s need to get on board with this knowledge! It's a shame that there can't be more collaboration between nutritionists and general practitioners.

Not the 1st interview that I have come across that features Dr Gabrielle Lyon, so nothing is new to me, but hearing hear speak on this subject is always a pleasure. My approach is 2MAD with a focus on getting enough complete protein and on fats, but I do not neglect carbs. Thank you for uploading and sharing.

Wow, totally impressed that Dr Gabrielle uses LDN for inflamation, understands the need for the adaptive stress response (hormesis) and that adequate muscle mass is central to good health.

What does ‘per kg per lb’ mean? Is it per kilo (1000g) or, per lb (450g)??

“.8 grams, per kilogram, per pound of body weight”. Think you mean, per kilogram, can’t be both pounds and kilos.

Im a 54 year old woman and I weigh 103 lbs, so 1.5 G protein/kg = 70 g of protein. So am I supposed to eat 70 grams or 90 grams since dr Lyon said 90 is the minimum? Why would ratios be different for smaller people? Is she generalizing that most woman weigh more? Thanks in advance for a clarification!
@felipearbustopotd Жыл бұрын
According to her mentor, Dr Donald Layman he suggests women get a minimum of 100 grams of protein ideally spread throughout the day, in essence thrice. I have read that, as long as your protein intake doesn't exceed 35% of kcal intake, all should be good. Caveats apply.

Disagree muscle cause of dementia, etc.
@pineapplepizza40162 жыл бұрын
She didn't say muscle loss causes dementia, but it can certainly increase the risk factor. There is a correlation between muscle health and brain\cognitive health. The more muscle you have the more healthy you will be in general, including your brain.
