In Georgia, we have a huge run of menhaden during the start of cobra season so we use those on buck tail jigs. Drop to the bottom and reel up a foot or two depending on the seas so that it bounces along just off the bottom. Rodney can do all the work jigging if the seas are 1-2 foot plus.

How long with that pinfish trap set to fill up like that?
@GaleForceTwins
@GaleForceTwins 3 жыл бұрын
Less than 24 hours! We put it out about midday the day before. We don’t recommend putting them about in the evening. We always get the most bait when it’s out there when there is more sunlight! The best thing to do would be the morning before.
@nasp.3523

Did I notice you drilled your 'Dungeness crab' thumb with a hot end of a paperclip to release the blood and pressure under the nail? Usually a good call. Either way next time that happens, take the time and money to get an X-Ray of your nail bed to make sure the lunula isn't fractured - because if it is you need it repaired or your nail will grow out nasty and unsightly forever. Great video as usual .

So the idea of the knocker rig is the weight sits on bottom. But then should one be letting out some line to allow the bait to swim around a few feet from there??
@GeekingWithAndy
@GeekingWithAndy 3 жыл бұрын
When the knocker rig is sinking, the sinker naturally drops first (since it's the heaviest and has the least amount of resistance), while the bait gets pulled along by the sinker. Therefore, when the knocker hits bottom, the bait is already as far out from the sinker as it can be. Note that the twins got their sinker stuck on their leader-to-braid knot. On a knocker rig, I usually tie a swivel and/or a bead at the leader-braid knot. That way, the sinker never gets stuck to the knot, so you can actually "knock" the sinker against the hook (or the hook's bead) to loosen the hook if you get it snagged against structure.
