I really enjoy all your videos. They are very interesting and informative. However I’m going to comment on something outside the norm. As a guy, I usually wouldn’t even notice fashion elements of videos. However, the neck scarves that you frequently wear are really attractive and it’s interesting how much they affect your appearance. Never thought a scarf would make such a difference. Just a suggestion, but when you moor to a buoy like that, always use the bow, and like someone else mentioned, run your line thru the eye on the balls line. This does 2 things. In a emergency all you have to do is drop 1 end of the line to be free from the ball, or in rough weather its easier, as like youve shown, you can power up to the ball to put slack in the line. If you moor stern to the ball, and the weather changes from good to bad, you dont run the risk of swamping the boat. In your case probably not a big deal, as you have a pretty high freeboard, but a lot of boats with notched sterns or low freeboard or no transom, could get swamped real quick. Its happened any number of times in general. In the same weather or even a change in tide, scenario, yould end up fighting the boat, and the weather trying to get free from the ball.

If you run your line through the mooring buoy and tie both ends to your boat, you can release without driving up to the buoy line.

Just about any wreck in the Keys has mooring balls like that. I cant think of any off hand that dont. Spiegel Grove, Duane, Bibb, Eagle, Thunderbolt, etc. Look Up Top Spot maps on Amazon. Particularly N207,208,209. They will have numbers for the Keys wrecks, depths etc.
