I'm a native Houstonian, so I spent a lot of time in Galveston growing up. This video is very accurate. It's a great place! I even lived there for a while.

The history is my favorite thing about Galveston! I live in MN, and have been to Galveston 5 times already. It's a fascinating place.

Heading toward Galveston early June. We are actually Airbnbing a beach house on Bolivar and will be traveling into Galveston for some attraction and sight seeing. We figured we would have the more relaxing beach time and still a short dive to fun stuff

Weather should be perfect for it, and everything should be full blown for summer!

Hello from Webster, Texas (26 miles away)! I was just there in Galveston at the hilton resort just yesterday for a few days. A lot of these things I knew as I do live pretty close by but I didn't know that is was essentially Las Vegas back in the day, very cool. Here in Webster, our history is mainly the Japanese coming over to grow rice near the creek and by Clear Lake where NASA is.

Howdy, thanks for watching! Galveston has a pretty cool history to me. There is so much there really, and hey maybe there is a video about Webster in the future haha. That’s an interesting bit!

We just booked the Hilton Resort for the first week of May. Do you know if the water will be warm enough to swim by then?
@nottawa86
@nottawa86 3 жыл бұрын
@@jonathanr9051 Yes, it will, May to October waters will be warm enough to swim in comfortably as that is hurricane season. June to September waters will be very comfortable to swim in.

100% will be warm enough. Most folks really get started as early as April getting in the water.

Josh, This was great. Very informative. You explained why they call it a red light district. But, you say not to sleep on Galveston? Very confusing. Aside from this quizzical statement, this is a superlative presentation!

July is in the middle of peak season! The weather should be warm and sunny barring any hurricanes that have the potential to pop up. I suspect the beach season will be huge this summer as more folks are being vaccinated and restrictions are being lifted.

I took the red light district tour. it was overpriced and the tour guide pressured the whole group for a tip at the end. He kept repeating himself about a tip. I was going to tip him but he was aggressive about it. Horrible experience.
