Gambling in Ancient India

From the literary sources to epigraphical sources, we see that there are quite a few references to gambling. In this video, we look at these references and also find out how the Ancient Indian political thinkers thought about this practice.

If you in Vedic times people use tree nuts as playing device and in Sindu-Saraswathi civ they used properly carved die for the purpose of playing games, isn't that give rise to the question that is the Vedic period truly came after Sindu-Saraswathi phase, especially the above-mentioned tree is native to Indian sub-continent. I am not suggesting that this one evidence completely proves OIT, but the people argue otherwise had provide explanation for why the Vedic phase is primitive to Sindu-Saraswathi phase if you claim Vedic age after Sindu-Saraswathi phase, because according AMT the nomads from the north-west did not replace the existing population they just some became powerful ruling class and imposed their language and culture if that's the case why people became primitive???

Not statistics but ancient Indians did have concepts of probability and a term "vikalpa ganita" was used to denote that. See C K Raju's article on Probability in ancient India.
