Espionage and the existence of spies are not a modern phenomenon. They existed in Ancient times, too. In this video, we look at the evidence found in Ancient Indian sources about how the espionage system operated.

1. Role of the Secret Service in Ancient India by Bimal Kanti Majumdar
2. Spy system in Ancient India by Manila Rohatgi
3. Kautilya's Arthashastra by R. P. Kangale

In kamasutra, while talking about 64 Kalas(even in Bhagavata Purana), spying art is mentioned in great detail, and the prostitues(Vishkanyas) were the most active in the trade of spying, as in kautilya's arthashastra. In very recent times, Madho Rao Scindia also employed spies on their officers to know corruption among them.

The terms caste, varna, and jāti are interconnected aspects of the traditional social structure in Hinduism, but they have distinct meanings: 1. **Varna:** - **Meaning:** Varna refers to the four main social classes or castes in Hindu society. - **Classes:** Brahmins (priests and scholars), Kshatriyas (warriors and rulers), Vaishyas (merchants and farmers), and Shudras (laborers and service providers). - **Purpose:** Originally intended to organize society based on individuals' duties and natural aptitudes. 2. **Jāti:** - **Meaning:** Jāti encompasses numerous subgroups or communities within the varna categories. - **Diversity:** Represents specific social groups often based on professions, regions, or lineages. - **Examples:** Within the Brahmin varna, there can be multiple jātis, each with its own distinct identity and practices. 3. **Caste:** - **Meaning:** Caste is a broader term often used to describe the social hierarchy or system based on birth and occupation, including both varna and jāti. - **Complexity:** Includes the varna system (four major categories) and various jātis (subgroups) within those varnas. - **Historical Evolution:** Over time, the varna system transformed into the caste system, which became more rigid and contributed to social stratification. In summary, varna is the broad classification into four main social classes, jāti refers to specific subgroups within these classes, and caste is a comprehensive term encompassing both varna and jāti within the social structure. The caste system has historical and cultural implications, and its impact extends beyond Hindu society.

This is just a random question but one I need to know. Apart from spies hailing from the priestly class, what were the criterias to assign spies who were not from this strata of society? I'm preety sure those spies who belonged from priestly class were more or less given the post after seeing if they are competent enough and were handed their assignment but what about others? My guess is that candidates were both chosen on the basis of their skills and recommendations from trusted people. For example, a spy would have to show that he is well trained in the sixty-four kalas or the ones necessary for the position he wants to go for and the ministers and other trusted people of influence would vouch for him if they see that he could do it. What do you think, Jay? Do reply and thanks for reading.

Hi, i had some doubts regarding IVC seals and pandya, chola, chera dynasties coin/seals. We can see similarities beteen the both like the elephant with altar, the pictographs above it, the 2 fish and river, horse(unicorn) and altar etc. We see horse instead of unicorn is it coz of presence of horse in end of BCE. Do u think its just coincidence or when the IVC migrated to south the had continuation of traditions. Are they works gng on this similarities or efforts to decipher the IVC script using the south dynasties symbols?

I would like to know about how indians got surname because vedic kings didn't had one surnames My theory with no research :- Vanrna strict became strict and became caste whcih is hereditary, thus people took surnames of thier caste or thier clan Please continue this service of explaining how ancient Indian society was. I want to write novels and make animation on based on ancient india and for that i need to know how society worked then. Japan has huge soft power because they show how they were like in thier classical era. Please make video on architecture of india by taking temples of north(rajasthan, pakistan, nepal and odisha) and south india(Dravidian styl)and homes(both south and rajasthan) and palaces of india as a reference

They were named after their Fathers or ancestors and to extension the tribe they belonged. For examples the Bharata tribe got its name for claiming descent from King Bharata. Other examples are - Apala Atreyi ( she was the daughter of Atri Rishi).

Good work kiddo. Watch out for biased history written by people from west, Invaders, Marxists, communists, secularists and generally anyone that doesn’t want the true history of the indigenous and native people of Bharat to come out and be taught in schools.
