Hi Benjamin and thanks for the video. Owner of a 6K dragon and in line waiting for the Remus set to be delivered. It would be much appreciated if you could share the desqueeze process you followed in a future video maybe. Thanks!
@BenjaminHardman7 ай бұрын
Sure I’ll do that for you! It is a bit of a rogue process but I was using 1.3 desqueeze on the small RED monitor and then correctly squeezing further to 1.5 in Davinci. A work around would be to film with no desqueeze and use a monitor that can do 1.5x preview, then do it in post.
@decoyimages7 ай бұрын
@@BenjaminHardman thanks for your answer! I think I'll follow the same path using 1.33X for monitoring. I really hate adding cables for signal and power in order to use a monitor that does a 1.5X squeeze. Just want to keep low footprint as you. Did you shoot full 6K for more sensor real estate? Anyway, I was referring about the de-squeeze process in Resolve. It will be much helpful and will save me a lot of time experimenting on how to achieve the correct aspect ratio. I'm not lazy but I'll have to start shooting for a project as soon as the lenses arrive and I won't have the time fiddling around in Resolve. Thanks again!!

Is the handgrip strong enough to hold the whole setup with one hand? I can see myself keeping my camera in one hand by my side when I'm not shooting, but I'm kind of scared it's too heavy
@nickxiong268 ай бұрын
I'm assuming you'd have to program everything into the handle, select the lens profile, then detach it if you dont want to use the side handle?
@BenjaminHardman8 ай бұрын
The data is actually saved directly into the motor, so you can calibrate the lenses and then do the selection via the button on the lidar unit if you don’t want to use the handle!

Hey man. I very recently purchased the Lidar, so now I'm gutted they have just updated it. Do you have experience with the original Lidar and if so how would you compare it? Cheers
@BenjaminHardman8 ай бұрын
I have only used the LiDAR on the Ronin 4D prior to this. I would say the big difference is simply just that this new system works with any configuration of camera setup! Also the AMF is really nice to use.

Great content! Just received my Remus set and was looking to buy ND filter. Which one are you using? Or any recommendations? Thanks!

You mentioned that it can also be a setup to have a mirrorless cam with an AF lens. Does it mean to set the AF lens to manual focus mode and use the DJI Focus pro system? Any experience with this setup? Does it significantly improve the focus quality compared to the AF mode of the AF lens?
@BenjaminHardman8 ай бұрын
That’s correct! You would need to add a focus ring to your lens and select the MF function. I think the effectiveness over normal autofocus on newer mirrorless cameras really depends on how you are using your camera. The LiDAR unit has the ability to focus much better in darker lighting situations as well as offering very accurate subject tracking up to 20m distance once calibrated.

How to choose from LiDAR priority or Optical priority? LiDAR power has its range limit, I guess.
@BenjaminHardman8 ай бұрын
This is why the AMF mode is so useful, because if the subject leaves the frame then you can jump to infinity or take control temporarily via the wheel.

@@BenjaminHardman no way! So it's more accurate than current dual pixel AF (more sticky per se)?
@Tijlliekens8 ай бұрын
Does it work in photography modes aswell?
@BenjaminHardman8 ай бұрын
It works independently to the camera so photography would work great! Keep in mind that it would be continuous auto focus so the lens will constantly be adapting to subject distance as you shoot.

As much as I share your sentiment, I'm forced to ask what other alternatives are there that can compete? IN the drone space, there are no other options. Monopoly is what DJI has unfortunately

@@cevisuals I know that they are good in drones and it's extremely dangerous story for the whole world - drones play a huge role in Russian-Ukrainian war and China use those technologies in military sector.

While I think we all understand the idea, what other options are there that are similar in capabilities and Even remotely close in cost. Also DJI has proven and shown that they do not supply or provide any of their equipment for military use. If you won't purchase a DJI product because Russia and Ukraine are using them for military purposes, I suggest you also ban buying anything from IBM or Texas instruments because their chip sets are being used by Russians in their drones and missiles.
