I've seen the review he's talking about and it's actually completely correct. It's talking about how the new Superman movie was made almost black and white as opposed to its initial trailer that showed vibrant colours. The logic was that with the success of the Dark Knight Trilogy DC have started making EVERYTHING dark and edgy because that one franchise worked, and it shows in that and in the trailers for Batman vs Superman.

I'm going to interpret the green robot as a Amy's dark mirror, symbolic of her desire to own and possess sonic and the destruction it brings to both of their lives. It stalks her just as she stalks him, mindlessly driven by its programming as she is by her insecurities. This is all but proven in the hall of mirrors scene, the infinite reflections displaying the futility of this desire and the endless cycle it creates. The bird is her ego, which she can't reconcile with being consistently rejected by Sonic. Only when she confronts this desire and defeats it, showing her self-worth prevailing over destructive, selfish desire can she feel safe in letting go. In this way, you could make the argument that the relationship between James Sunderland (Amy), Laura (the bird) Mary/Maria (Sonic), and Pyramid head (Zero)t may have been based on the narrative symbolism of Sonic Adventure, which came out three years prior to Silent HIll 2. Or it could just be an amazingly shitty game that I somehow loved when I was a kid and I'm trying to reconcile it for my own comfort. Verdict?

It took me SO LONG to figure out during the froggy-fishing sequences as a kid to figure out that you're supposed to tap the analog stick down to hook froggy. I only figured that out because after I rage quit for a few days I read the manual inside the case and they had a tip in the booklet saying you're supposed to do that. I was so salty.

Nah, it really didn't. Better than many later Sonic games, though. I feel like the lack of optimization, fixing, and overall effort they had with the ports of this game really carried over to later adventure-style titles. Some of them were hit harder, like '06 and Adventure 2, others less so. But it felt like the start of a trend, to me; polishing games less rather than more.

I feel like you can see the point where they realized all the Sonic fans in their audience were throwing shit at them for making fun of their favourite Sonic game, and the Grumps immediately stopped making fun of the game. The playthrough feels less fun after that point. Like, who cares if they shit on your game? If you enjoy it, then go ahead. If they want to shit on it then they can.

I feel like after all the rage gaming moments I've witnessed from Arin, they just need a room at the GG office where they (specifically Arin) can go and just destroy shit...like just break things and throw things and do as much damage as they want...it's actually quite therapeutic to do something like that...it's a good way to work out anger (I do say that from experience)

No matter how many times I go back to play SA and SA2, they're still fun games to play. They aren't on the particularly "good" side of the spectrum, but they're not "unplayable garbage" as most tend to make them out to be. Though seeing Arin actively shit on sonic games is nothing new, it's still hilarious, albeit a bit excessive at times.
