14megasxlr yes, it is flawed, but i still dont think it deserves the hate it gets. What if this situation was flipped, everyone loves untitled 3d sonic game made in 1996, and mario got the short end of the stick in 1998, thier consoles failed, and they have to work for sega. Everyone praises Mario 64 to this day, yet they decide to attack anyone who feels like defending this game. it has the same problems as Adventure, it has glitches, bad graphics, and suffers from a bad camera. But at least the controls and gameplay in Adventure are better. Even most diehard Sonic fans agree that this game is still flawed, yet its still fun to them. Only true fans see how bad a game is in some parts, yet still get enjoyment from it. Isnt that the purpose of video games? to have fun? even sonic 06, a game which is universally panned for being the worst game ever, still garners enjoyment from people. And honestly we shouldnt criticize peoples opinions, unless they want to state it as fact, like arin, and use it to harm other people in the community. Like arin. Just play the game and have fun. Even if you don't like it, don't use that as a reason to effect the community in a big way. Egoraptor is a big internet personality. people will listen to his opinion and state it as fact, because they cant find opinions for themselves, or look at both sides of the spectrum, that is why fanbases are never perfect, because we have those bad apples who ruin it. Mario 64 is flawed and nowhere near perfect these days, but people still love it, Ocarina of time has problems o' plenty, but we still enjoy it. Sonic Adventure has a couple of glitches that are easy to avoid, yet people overreact and make it out to be the end of the world. Just have fun

While sonic is very experimental and sega listens to fans, Nintendo releases the same game for the most part, and they barely listen to fans. The only time they were ever experimental was Mario 64 and Sunshine (and galaxy lol) other than that, its the same game, also mario is slow as hell, it becomes very tedious, and whenever they do try bringing something new to the table, it usually fails. When Sonic jumped to 3D, it was the same, it was rather glitchy when it came out 1998. Sega then released it to america 1999, they made an "international" version of it for Japan, fixing the glitches the initial releases had. Considering patches for games did not exist till the seventh generation of video games, this was ingenious, as this showed not only did they listen to complaints and were intent on fixing what needed it, but that they also knew how to properly re-release games incase the consumer didnt get a dreamcast first chance. As for the 2d sonic games, i see no problems with them, apart from the extreme difficulty of death egg zone in sonic 2, or the fact that in order to get the full sonic 3 experience, you needed sonic and knuckles. either way, still really fun games.

Actually im a big Sonic fan, whether it be the 2D Classics or The 3D dreamcast games, or the Modern games. I love each and every one of them in their own special way. Sonic Adventure feels old, and is old. Very VERY old. (Also yeah i understand that's a copout excuse and yes Half-Life is amazing, but they're two completely different Genres of game. One harder to fuck up or it doesn't age very well, and one that can still last for a long time while being more accessible to different players of different skill levels. *as long as they have the source remake*) What im saying is, yes Sonic Adventure is a very flawed and dated game, and I don't go back to it as much as I do the Classic Games or even Sonic Adventure 2. But i still like it. And for 1998 it was a revolutionary game. But yeah there are better games out there. (MUCH BETTER)

Two things: -Froggy is only being a dick because he has Chaos' tail. He's actually a really great guy! -The Big the Cat levels are the worst, but if you're playing this game and want to catch Froggy easier, keep this in mind, you can move the hook when he nibbles to hitch him on it easier. (Also when catching fish for whatever ungodly reason, the big ones usually swim all around randomly, so only pull back when they're swimming away and you can get them to you faster.)

People might defend Sonic Adventure. It's a bad game but it was a bad game I played as a child. I didn't know any better haha. If I played it for the first time as an adult I'd probably hate it, but it was a part of my childhood. The nostalgia gives it a special place in my heart. I'll always love this game despite its flaws (excusing the Big the Cat parts lol). I won't defend it was good though xD I will probably replay it soon.
