This is not a normal apprenticeship to your average village smith. It used to be normal for master craftsmen to demand large sums in order to take on apprentices and pass on their skill and maybe some of their trade secrets.

paying for an apprenticeshipactually still happens although the only example coming to mind currently is some tattoo artist. idk how often it happens in more legit businesses. hell even some tattoo shops you get paid to work the counter or something while you learn so that's not even an example that holds true for all but I'm sure their are other trades which still do this. probably was more common before college and office jobs though!

College- for a career that actually requires it, such as a doctor or lawyer- and trade school are basically paying to be an apprentice

I still am not fully sure on what Cersei was hoping to get out having her incest dumplings take the throne, was it a big fuck you to Robert, or a bigger one to Tywin? Since they could never be out in public as Lannister, which was Tywin's big deal and honestly Robert was more about the act of fathering more than actually being a father (would he have been better if it had been Lyanna? maybe, but probably not). I guess it doesn't really fully matter, since Cersei is a crazy person, and she has that thing about only wanting Jaime's kids and really should just not have the incesting.

Not really. The epicenter was 600 km away from my city (350 miles), but my house still shaked a little bit. And not to sound pedantic, but here we didnt't really considered it an earthquake. Bellow 7 degrees Richter, we call it a tremor. We are really used to them by now, after the huge one of 2010. Thanks a lot for your concern, Rich dear :)
