got myself a basic low D whistle and had loads of fun with this one (after covering Auld Lang Syne). Would love to see more low D whistle videos ! (especially keen as my large hands prefer low whistle over a regular one).

Stephanie, I’m so glad to see that you are safely back at home! You look better than ever… I looked closely for signs of travel stress and you look fantastic! You must sleep well in strange places… And your hair is like Wow! I’m surprised and delighted to see a video of you so soon. You are a high energy ambitious person! I’ve been thinking that you would be bringing something back from Japan… I can take a guess… it’s most likely something that you blow! Now about the performance… It sounded amazing, a very clean and clear recording. Now here comes a question… Was your trip to Japan entirely for pleasure and rest or did it pertain to you or your husbands work/business? I wouldn’t even know why or how to enjoy an Oriental vacation. If I found myself waking up in such a place I would be thinking what am I doing here. In order for me to enjoy something I need to know something about what I’m trying to enjoy and why. I’m assuming that you have studied Japan somewhat before…You might find it interesting that I see and speak with Asian people almost everyday. I have a long time friend and client from Osaka Japan. There are so many ethnicities here on the Mississippi gulf coast. Is it that way in Wales? I think your country would be a very comfortable place for me to visit simply because everyone speaks English and very well I may add. I’ve said this before… I love the way you talk! And I love the way you play your whistles… You are always so good with your vibrato. And so spot on with your presentations and tutorials! You never miss a beat and you are always so sweet! Your replies are always so special! And I’m having a wonderful “Thanksgiving” today the 23rd of November. It’s all about giving thanks and eating lots of good food with friends and family. First and foremost turkey, dressing or stuffing and any food that you enjoy the most! Happy Thanksgiving! I’ll eat some turkey and dressing just for you even though it might not be one of your favorite foods! And thank you for this latest video! I’ll be watching for that secret Japanese surprise!

Burt Eastwood We travel a lot 😄 always for pleasure, never for work. Japan is I've of the many countries we've visited for it's beautiful scenery, unique culture and exiting things too see. I have a dizi in key G (I guess they call them their key based on the first 3 holes??) Anyway this is sooo useful since theres nothinggg online for it really besides a simple finger chart. The fingerings transfer fine thank you sooo much !

I've covered the techniques I use in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2rFapKdp8-Bl6s but I don't use many of the traditional Irish ornaments and haven't learned them myself as yet. There are some tutorials out there by other KZbinrs about ornaments though 😊

Nikos Nikos It's a low D whistle. Bass whistle are lower again 😄

It's also known as a tenor D. One octave higher is a soprano D (and is about half the size of the tenor). A bass D (one octave lower) would require keys to be able to play, as the finger stretch to cover the holes would be too great for human hands.
