Yeah I still remember watching that scene with my friends. We were pretty drunk and they were all going like, no way they're doing that. That's not gonna happen but I knew it would happen as soon as Tyrion saod "...and who has a better stroy than Bran the Broken?". They were all in disbelief and I was just silently boiling from the inside, until Bran said "Why do you think I came all this way?" At that point, I exploded and I nearly broke my Game of Thrones mug in a fit of rage and sadness. That was the final nail in the coffin for me. I was physically incapable to enjoy or even pay attention to the rest of the episode. I just didn't give a shit anymore. D&D butchered what was once the greatest TV show ever. I'll never forgive those morons. They should be fired from the industry immediately but seeming as that won't happen, I just pray to the seven gods that they won't ever write for something I like again. If they do, I'm just not gonna watch it.

Bran has always been good so I thought he was a good choice bc he’s really just a figurehead at this point. The leadership being more of a council now, no one person with all the power. Brandon will be the most fair king possible.

Apfelkuchen why wouldn’t i take them seriously? They were right about the army of the dead. They knew that it existed and that they have no way to get over the wall. Dany going there and losing a dragon to the night king was the only reason why they became a threat to the realm. Other than that, the history that can be found there is the history that Bran can see, its the same thing. The only thing i have against them is not caring about Jorah’s greyscale but that’s it.

You could have chosen Jon as the King but not only is that not who he is but it would also result in a unnesessary war between the north and the Unsullied. Also by choosing their future rightful Kings or Queens they litterally broke that wheel that Daenerys always wanted to break. In the end lineage was not the most important factor and who could guarantee that Jons children would be fit to rule?
@crystall.4115 жыл бұрын
E a lot of the targaryens were just as bad if not worse than daenerys in some ways and another tagaryen king made it better its not just a persons house, but yes I think they kinda took the easy way out because they wanted someone who couldnt father children if he ever took a wife

@@crystall.411 A lot of Targaryens wanted to "free" the whole world like Daenerys did with Kings Landing? I mean she basically said we "saved" Kings Landing and now will "save" the whole world. I don't think any Targaryen was more dangerous than Daenerys^^
@CReaper2105 жыл бұрын
@@She-Devil94 The lineage thing is a good point that I think could've played a key role here if they were to never have the Aegon Targaryen storyline in the first place, which ultimately served little purpose anyways. Because they had the whole king of the north thing going with Jon Snow prior to any of it. The people chose Jon Snow as their king, as Davos said. That storyline could have had a direct impact on this episode when they decide to forgo the idea of lineage leadership. Many people are mentioning how Jon doesn't want to be king, but I can't help but feel like that's the reason he would probably be the best at it. Whereas pretty much everyone else just wants the power associated with it, Jon's been fighting for peace and honor this entire time.

Me too , the season got a very strange twist when the episode 3 ended at Aryas hand , it affected a lot of plotlines , the aegon targaryen thing was bad handled , another thing affected the season was not killing jaime in episode 3 at the at hand of some of night kings lieutenants not a random wight , he deserved a dead at the hand of a major threat it would have worked out as a tool to get cercei mentally destroyed for not sending the army with him wich would have keep him alive .

Agreed. But that was the main point. Jon was really the song of ice and fire. He didn’t kill the Night King directly but he was the threat (Song of Ice) and he did directly kill Dany in the end due to his legacy (and Fire). I’m sure the books will provide more. Honestly the song of ice and fire could be Jon and Dany. At the end Jon returns kinda home to his world of Ice as a king. Maybe Ice was meant as perseveration to ones values as opposed to the fire of burning the world due to opposing values? Idk. I like the open ending

And why does Bran need a Master of Whispers?
@ralfrudi39635 жыл бұрын
Well a Spymaster does more than just knowing stuff. Whenever you need to take actions that are not supposed to be openly known you actual need spys. E.G. Kill a person, help someone unkownly. Also Bran obviously isnt omniscient, the scene where he asked for the location of the dragon shows that. He can get intel when he is concentrating on something but he does not know everything that happens everywhere just by existing. The spys are supposed to pick up rumours and keep an eye on other people so Bran doesnt have to warg into a tree 24/7.
@tomasvrabec18455 жыл бұрын
@@ralfrudi3963 Well.... we know that Bran is connected to the weirwood net.... There are no weirwoods out of Westeros so he has no power there. Besides, he know the past and some of present and only very very very very little of the future... all of the future he knew could be summarised in the vision he had (dragon flying over kingslanding) Knowing the past is why he is suited to his new position since the whole reason why we learn history is to learn from the mistakes and achievements of our ancestors.
@noneofyourbeeswax015 жыл бұрын
@@ralfrudi3963 _"Also Bran obviously isnt omniscient, the sceen where he asked for the location of the dragon shows that"_ Well obviously he's not omniscient, that would make him a god and I don't think anyone is suggesting that. We know that all this knowledge and information isn't just there in his consciousness, he has to know what he is looking for. As for locating the dragon, well I think Bran's very next words in that scene rebut your argument when he suggests that perhaps he can help with locating Drogon
@ralfrudi39635 жыл бұрын
@@noneofyourbeeswax01 Sure he can find him eventually because as I said he can get information on anything he wishes to get them on but he needs to know what he is looking for and has to spend time googling or whatever he actually does. That doesnt work for things like people plotting a coup to overthrow him since he would not know who where what and when or even if. Unreasonable for him to keep those things in check by skimming the entire nation daily. A good spy network on the other hand could pick up on those. They allow bran to actually rule instead of scanning the interwebs or whatever all day long. I used the dragon as an example because it shows that even when he actually knows who he is looking for it takes a considerable amount of time to do so. If it only took him a minute to find it then he would have done so allready and not ask his council. Thats why a master of whispers and a good network of spys is still really useful to him. Simply by freeing up alot of time he can use for other things now that he cant spend the whole day in the garden watching history channel.

i feel that it only is recognized as bad writing cuz this story (or any ending story in that fact) required another season or 2 to fully flesh it out... but with the directors wanting to end it so soon, they kinda had to quick rap stuff up... which creates alot of issues like danys decent into madness isnt fully seen cuz they had to make it happen so quickly instead of over a season or 2 more.. and the rest of the stuff that they did in this season could of worked still but... as i said, they needed another season to 2 to stretch it out so it goes smoothy and makes sense... but o well... it was a wild adventure anyways.
@mostneuter4 жыл бұрын
@@Deadganon Well, it started to get fucked when they decided to destroy Daenerys as a character at season 7, taking decisions that didn't made sense based on her own story: questioning the existence of magical being, being stuburn on the acknowlegment of being the queen (something she never did before) and so forth. For other characters, it wasn't as obvious but in general they (the writers) just shutted them down to keep their plan of making her the mad queen... The ending, based on what the writers did, wasn't to end Game Of Thrones, the only purpose of the 2 last seasons was to end the show on a mad queen
@Deadganon4 жыл бұрын
@@mostneuter but to be fair, i always thought she was gonna end up being the mad queen, so that wasnt a shocker to me... the shocker to me was that jon didnt end up being king.. but in a way he got the best ending, he never wanted to be a leader, he just wanted to be free of duty etc, which now is part of the free folks in the north.

@@Deadganon Well, i would agree about the mad queen IF she wasn't being surrounded by good people and advisers because for the 6 seasons, she was "kept in line" by the people surrounding her. If we stick to their writing, i would say the reasons why she became mad queen is because the writers shutted down those same people. Yes she lost a few very close friends but there was still enough people to keep her in line. If they kept their regular behaviors, she would *never* have burn the entire city (with the innocent) and speak with such hate, which is for me the point that really destroyed her character. Everything else i was fine because it didn't really ruined the show, but when it happened, it was just too much for me.

Just so you all know- the Nights Watch is not back. If you noticed, they’re all Wildlings. Tormund and the last group of Wildlings were waiting for him. It was all a ruse set up by Tyrion not only so the Unsullied can be chill, but also the Dothraki. Those two armies would’ve probably revolted and continue Dany’s mission if they knew that the man who killed their queen was crowned king or allowed to live a normal life. Yara was also for Jon’s execution. Having Targ blood also might leave some of the common people hesitant in trusting Jon since his aunt literally slaughtered a whole city. Jon fulfilled the prophecy in bringing the “new dawn” by killing Dany. He brought people together for the Battle of Winterfell and he prevented Dany from killing more people. He never wanted to be king, but one thing that’s become obvious to me (rewatching the show) is that he has a special connection with the Wildlings. That’s his true home- the North. He’s never been happy dealing with the politics of King’s Landing. He could be elected as the King beyond the wall or live a normal life and visit Sansa now and again once things calm down in the South. A lot can happen in 10 years, just like Tyrion said. :)

Bran told Sam to tell Jon. Remember he said it had to be at that exact moment. Then when Jon was trying to decide if he should tell his sisters or not Bran sort of gave him a nudge to tell them. At that point Bran had basically made Jon tell them because the sisters knew that Bran knew this big secret. Basically if Jon's brother knew then his sisters should have had a right to know too. After that Bran lied repeatedly saying he wasn't interested in becoming king. Against the Night King he used Theon to buy time because he knew Arya was coming. He could have stopped Dany easily anytime he wanted by warging into Drogon but he never did. He wanted it to happen because he knew he would become king and he needed to split apart Jon and Dany. Even worse after all of it was over he gave everybody what they wanted so they wouldn't be a threat. He sent Jon Snow north of the wall. He gave Sansa Winterfell. He knew Arya was going to leave. And even made Tyrion his hand so he would be in control of him and not have to deal with any of the day to day tasks. Crazy part is nobody figured it out. Watched an interview with the dude who plays Bran. He said point blank that Bran used Theon to buy time for Arya because he knew how it was going to play out. Said that the 3 Eyed Raven sees people as chess pieces to be used to obtain a goal. That's why he told Sam that it had to be at that exact moment that he tell Jon the secret. The question then is why did he have to tell Jon right at that moment? To set things into motion because Dany was going to attack Cersei immediately after the battle of winterfell. So Sam tells Jon and then Jon tells Dany and then all hell breaks loose. Everything changes. Dany loses Jon and her claim to the throne in one move. That's why she went off and destroyed the Red Keep which caused Jon to kill her and take himself out of the running to become king. 3 Eyed Raven been manipulating everybody. So they could sit at the wall and wait for a month or two for the extremely unlikely turn of events that would send Jon back to the wall. Don't get me wrong, I loved the reunion. As some parts of the ending are confusing, here's my explanation: 1. Jon/Aegon couldn't be the King, just because he he has the right name. That'd be the opposite of breaking the wheel. The whole point of choosing a ruler is to not go by titles and lineage. 2. Besides, they had to come to peace with Greyworm (the Unsullied and the Dothraki). Choosing Jon as the King would have meant another war. 3. Bran knew everything, and he won the Game of Thrones. Knowledge really is power. He had to make tough decisions (asking Sam to tell Jon about his parentage and letting Daenerys go mad and burn King's Landing), so he would become the all-knowing King: either to fulfill his lust of power (which I don't think is the case) or to finally have the kingdom at peace (the more likely scenario). 4. Jon's ending broke my heart the most. I wanted him the best for him. But it is what it is. He is where he would be happy with his friend and pet, but the doors of the 7 kingdoms are shut on him just because he had the courage to do the right thing. Two of his lovers died in his arms, and yet he'd do it all over again if it comes to that. He was the shield that guarded the realms of men, and we shall never see his like again. Now his watch has ended. PS: Jon is NOT in the Night's Watch. He is exiled beyond the wall. He is the unofficial King Beyond the Wall, who protects wildlings -- the only people who supported him through thick and thin. The "he is to be sent to the Night's Watch" was obviously a trick to settle the matters with Greyworm. There is no Night's Watch anymore (we saw no one; only wildlings at Castle Black).

@@SpartanBobo Same. I like how the story went, and having the throne destroyed (like the ring in LoTR, which also served as an antagonist of the story) was great. Jon was still a hero. Triggered a war with who? The 20 Unsullied who fucked off anyway? Or the Iron Born with their 3 ships? The fact he was sent away to appease fucking Greyworm, who has no say in anything related to Westeros is fucking stupid. The Unsullied are literally a bunch of cockless cunts who will be extinct in 100 years.

Najeed Ali Exactly. They make Jon take the black to appease a group of guys who give up on fighting to go to Naath anyway. Somebody should go and tell Jon they’re gone lol.

@@fruitpunch053 It looked to me when Jon is going north of the wall with the wildings is that he was going to be the king beyond the wall. Basically, the Starks won the entire 7 kingdoms and beyond maybe depending on what Arya does in westworld lol.

So the north asked for their independence but Dorne & The Iron Islands didn't ask for theirs? The 2 kingdoms that revolted for their freedom, Dorne's words are unbent unbowed unbroken, all they ever wanted was to be free.🤦♂️

Those are the Martell's words, but I see your point.

only the iron islands, Dorne bent the knee like 100 years before the mad king, yes, they fought hard against Aegon the conqueror, but no more and without the unsullied Yara had no chance to reject the new king

He gave it to her because the north saved the rest of the world against thr walkers

I think that was Asha's look when the north said they were staying free. She was like 'wait.. crap.. was.. was that one of the options? [carefully checks her script] We could have just said 'no'?'

Long live Team Jonmund ship! 😀 they redeemed themselves solely by making sure Ghost finally got the pats he deserved for being a good boy.

My biggest problem with the last season is they crunched it down to 6 episodes when there was enough story for 15. They turned John into a cardboard cutout. I do think John was happier as a ranger than anything else, and he didn't want to rule anything. Daeneris was headed toward this ending. Everything she ended she ended with violence, and the problem she was going to have was Westeros supporting John more than her once his story got out to more people so he would always be a threat. She got paranoid but they showed that collapse way too quickly If you think about the line that when a Targeryan is born the gods flip a coin and the world holds its breath it makes sense. My opinion is they really screwed the Bran character up. If he had a personality and made him likeable it would have been easier to take instead of turning him into a supercomputer.

And Bran the Broken has more power than the entire realm: power to warg into all beings & control them, bend them at his will, should he choose to…lol so much for *getting to choose* 😒 (Although I trust Bran NOT to do that. He has the power now. And power 🟰 power afterall)

what story? 🤣 there was NOTHING beyond literally a bunch of tiktok-style clips merged together to elicit some drama reaction... awful stuff
