This whole episode was just stolen visuals from other fantasy stories. How much of the cinematography in this was lifted from LOTR? They kept fading to black like the episode was over.....didn’t ‘Return Of The King’ do that? The scene when Sansa gets crowned was a straight up rip off of the scene in which Aragorn gets his crown. The way that Drogon flew off with Dany was like the Eagles taking off with Frodo....they owe Peter Jackson some directorial credit here.

Soon after that, he became the King in the North, only to give up the crown in order to save the lives of people of his realm. He participated and led several battles and is considered a war hero. He is known as a man of honor and Justice. In the end, he killed a tyrant knowing it might cost him his life. But yeah... Not as good as "Saw incest, pushed from the window, carried by a guy whose mind he screwed, sat in the roots of a tree and does nothing but roll his eyes"...

I wouldn't be shocked if their planned trilogy gets slimmed down to a two movie thing, or a "we'll let you do one and see how it goes" sort of thing, the backlash against Thrones has been so bad. I don't think what GRRM wanted, 12-13 seasons, is possible on the scale that he'd like it to be. I think HBO's vision of 10 seasons would've been perfect though. 100 Episodes vs 73. Then it wouldn't have to feel so rushed. And it wouldn't take so long that Maisie Williams who started at age 12 wouldn't be like 40 years old by the end of it. The other factor though really quickly is that the other problem in this whole thing is the actors themselves can always walk unless they're contracted the right way, but a lot of them I think were ready to be done with it, so there's that as well. Especially Kit Harington who is in freaking rehab right now lol

I mean Game of Thrones is such a massive undertaking to begin with, it's incredible one guy managed to write the books by himself over the course of decades, let alone two guys who are now tasked with translating it to film. I think George himself is burned out on writing Thrones, and I think by Season 5 D&D were burned out on being the showrunners for it. If I was one of the people with executive power at HBO, I would have (with George's blessing) phased them out and installed a new showrunner or two with the same level of passion that D&D clearly had for the first few seasons of Thrones. Let them get George's blessing the same way D&D did, but it's no secret that D&D and George were openly fighting by about Season 5 or Season 6 and they primarily disagreed about how much longer they saw the show going, respectively. George wanted 12 seasons, 10 episodes each. I think HBO wanted 9-10 total seasons, 10 episodes each. D&D wanted to do a total of 7 seasons, 10 episodes each. What they did instead will go down as one of the most egregious compromises in film history. They agreed to do a total of eight seasons, but condensed into much shorter seasons each. Mathematically they won the compromise, only signing on for an additional 3 episodes overall (73 vs 70). The pacing was off, the writing got worse. I do think they were eager to move on to other things. It's ironic though that they got the Star Wars gig on the heels of Thrones success only to lose it as soon as the backlash really began in earnest.

kyotheman69 I love LOST. I think its ending is great since ending was inline with the character development all along. There are even graphs comparing the finale rating of GOT and LOST. Lost is at 9.3 and GOT is I think 4.7. 😂 The only issue with LOST is they put in a lot of mystery in the island they are not able to answer in the finale. Lots of filler mysteries in LOST that is not necessary at all. But overall a great tv show. ❤️

In the time it took him to talk to Tyrion and walk to Dany, Drogon decided to pay hide n seek, burried himself in ash and rubble, and was still worried Jon Slow had forgotten they were playing and had to come out of hiding. In the time it took Jon Slow to get to the Wall to rejoin the nonexistant Nights Watch, Arya has a full customized Stark ship made, manned, learned to captain/sail, supply, and set sail. Winterfell is Landlocked and Arya wanted to go west so it's likely it was made in the Iron Islands which could speed up the process, but it still at the VERY least takes months to make ships, let alone one so detailed and obviously customized. It could take YEARS to build a ship like that. It takes 1 month to take the Kings Road north to Winterfell(with a full royal procession slowing the journey down, so how Jon managed to make the trip longer than Cersei idfk, he must have gotten lost at sea in that little ass dingy, or stopped by starbucks again).

But I was thinking, what if Episode 3 still ended with the Night King being slain, but it only resulted in the rest of the White Walkers being driven back up north, rather than instantly dying with the Night King? We could find out that it was mainly the Night King, who had this genocidal agenda and wanted all of mankind to be gone, perhaps thinking that humans are too irredeemably depraved to deserve anything other than annihilation, to punish the wicked and bring relief to those suffering without end. However, some of the other White Walkers could see themselves as the original victims, who got forcibly turned into monsters, furiously fought back against their creators, found themselves hunted down by humans and the Children of the Forest alike, and wanted nothing more than to be left alone in peace after the Wall’s construction, despite their great power. For those other White Walkers, besides Craster’s sons raised by the Night King himself, they only went along with the invasion because the Night King gathered them together and made them join his campaign. So once the Night King was killed, they abandoned the cause and left. So regarding Jon Snow, the White Walkers were the only ones to successfully take down a dragon, without need of those now-destroyed scorpions, and what’s left of their existence could be equally threatened by Daenerys. Jon is eventually backed into a situation so desperate that he ends up trying to negotiate with the remaining White Walkers and join forces to defeat the Dragon Queen, who gradually becomes more power-hungry and mad over the course of Season 9. Again, this is a spur of the moment thought I had, so I do not know if that is sensible at all. I was just thinking about that one level in “Halo 3”, where the Flood briefly teams up with our protagonists, Master Chief and the Arbiter, to stop the Prophet of Truth from activating the Halo ring and destroying all sentient life in that section of the galaxy.

The destroyed and respawned armies, the collapsed, but not really ceiling, Jaime's seemingly lethal stabs from Euron that were of no consequence, the whole city of King's Landing, including the castle being back to normal in what seems to be a month or two. They sacrifice consistency to create emotional moments without realising that consistency and consequences is what gives meaning and gravity to those emotional moments... Everything just feels random and empty now. Like, Peter Dinklage gave a great performance when he found his siblings dead, but I couldn't be in the moment with him because the moment made so little no sense.

RR Martin had no story in mind really. He had a starting point and then worked on characters, their development and how they would react, so it was pretty fluid. However, that brought some problems... Character development was beautiful! But the plot was forgotten. And after it lasted so long and he got to so many characters and conflicting stories, he realized he's way over his head, in my opinion. That is why it takes so long to write the next book and why he turned his attention away to prequels instead of finishing the story he started. And that is why the compete story was left to Dumb and Dumber who are rushing to Star Wars and just wanted to finish it ASAP.

Why did you do that? Just interested. I thought it was an amazing episode...the build up..the intensity...but Jon should have killed the Night King after a hard battle. That was my only criticism. But I agree that the last two episodes were really bad. Was so gutted about the ending. My friends and I met every Tuesday to watch for four years after we each caught up.

Everyone has a limit, the first three episodes were written by D&D, best writing or adaptation in the history of TV. It's just hard, nobody can be at the top of the game for this long even the best ones. I can't recall any show that didn't go downhill after season 5 or 6. It's just impossible, it took GRRM 25 years to write 5 books. And GRRM promised to D&D he would finish book 6 by the end of season 3, and he is still writing it. Without D&D Season 1 would not even exist, and the books are popular as fuck thanks to this show, D&D are amazing at what they have accomplished, best showrunners ever! Even though the last couple of seasons where shall we say sub-par in the writing department, but Deadpool, now that's impossible to defend.

Yup so true about J.K Rowling. Is she a perfect person? Of course not. But is she not literally the richest woman alive? Yes, they were kids books. But at least the story was finished.. at least she didn’t leave any lore unresolved at the end of the series. At least she didn’t sell her rights to D&D exclusively. The HP films had like 3 different directors, they made sure the vision was complete.& most importantly look at the different in the legacies both productions have left behind. Two years later GOT has almost entirely disappeared from pop culture, only really kept alive by big fans OR bitter fans like myself who take fault with thee ending. It goes to show how catastrophic a bad ending can be to a brand.

If stories are so powerful, why were t we given one?? I made a video to nitpick the finale and had to stop at 60 because I had to move on with my life. Literally every shot and line can be questioned or criticized. It was a very rushed and lazy way to end the series, leaving characters assassinated and ends loose all over the place. 🤦‍♀️ I’ve never been more upset about the end of a series.
