@Thanatos4207 жыл бұрын
Better yet, shouldn't sin retractions not even exist since they retract valid points? I've never quite understood why a valid point suddenly gets retracted because an entirely unrelated thing is good enough to forget it even existed. Like here, he praised Platinum for knowing how to do boss fights and retracted a sin. Now what if the sin before that...was racism? That's like saying racism is fine because boss fights are fun. Makes no sense, and retracts a legit valid point.

I never took it as if it was invalidating a sin, I take it as 'that was good enough to make me gloss over some of the worst parts of your game'. For instance, if a game has mediocre writing overall, but the dialog is horrible almost always, and yet the combat is absolutely fanfuckingtastic, I could deal with the horrid dialog for that combat.

@sleepysera4 жыл бұрын
The point still stands though. Why give them emotions in the first place if they aren't allowed to have any? It's not like androids are BORN that way, they are built and programmed so the creators have control over what they want to put in. And it's not like they aren't aware that they are doing fucked up shit to them - there's literally a point where the game tells you that YorHa androids get powered by machine cores instead of whatever "hearts" regular androids have, because they found it too cruel to make them full-fledged androids only for them to get killed as part of the plan later. So why the fuck would you give them emotions, which would mean they would suffer endlessly?

The same with this game I believe, the Android wasn’t supposed to have feeling either, it just something that happen. There are many media cover the idea what if A.I has consciousness already. This game went a bit further to depict what would happen afterward, and reflecting our society that was build up through millennium, and tried to explain what would make a thing to become sentient. There are a lots of video express the meaning of this game better than I do. It all depend upon yourselves like it or not really. I count 46 'sins' you got wrong (and an extra for which you should remove a sin): 1) Narration - This is getting extremely old. 2) Explained in route C. 3) They are also UI items. In between 6 and 7 should be a negative sin. 9) Covered in Route C. Androids don't handle excessive emotion well. 10) He's an android not human, makes sense could survive...Oh wait, he doesn't, his injuries will 'kill' him shortly. 11) Covered in Route C. 12) Covered as soon as you get to the bunker: Bandwidth. 13) If it's believable, remove a sin. 15) Since it is very possible the backup doesn't work, or that there was no time to back up themselves, or that they would only return to the 'person' they were at their last back up, the person they were at the time of their 'death' would die, it makes sense that they'd feel like they would die. This is also explained in part via an Email about storage being limited. 16) Black boxes are covered in Route C. 18) Hey, he got a report about her, covered in Route B. 20) Nope, they learn much like humans, because they mimic humans, it's propaganda, Covered in Route C. 21, 22, 23) Covered in Routes A, B, C. 24) Propaganda, again, also Covered in Route C. 30) Explained in Route C. 34) Propaganda (seriously, did you even play this game?) 35) *sigh* Covered in Routes A, B, C. 36) Covered in Route C. 38) Incorrect, they have hearts, or the mechanical equivalent, the machines don't. 43, 48) Propaganda, Covered in Route C. 56) Covered with 'sin' 15. 61) Covered in Routes A and B, it only occurs once they are disconnected from the network since that is the only way they can actually 'die'. Eve goes nuts because his brother is actually dead. Refer back to 'sin' 9 and Routes C. 62) They're curious. Why are humans obsessed with prehistoric animals? Stupid 'sin'. 64) Wrong. Explained in Route C. 69) Play the game, he's right, your 'sin' is wrong. 70) Explained in Route B. 71) Yeah, where a lot of stuff gets explained you impatient twit. 72) Breaking his neck and severing his 'brain' from his power 'heart'. 73) Not really since they're mimicing them. 76) This actually goes towards explaining some of the things you sin. 82) Not the point, again, mimicing humans (trying to). 86) The machines don't understand, in addition, the Forest Machines are disconnected from the network, so they are lacking a lot of information that they would have otherwise. This causes confusion for them (and other machines) later. 90) It could be 'F**k' or 'Kill' 2B. Explained in Route C. 92) You should have taken off 2 sins for this because you proved yourself wrong for sins 15 and 56 since it is clear to you at this point 9S has been killed multiple times and clearly has no knowledge or recollection of it, almost as if he's a completely new person each time. Also, hiding, or at least not being open about, humanity's fate is perfectly reasonable. 9S is very good at what he does, but is prone to becoming unstable, this information does not help his stability, to forstalling it as long as possible is a good idea to get the most out of your tools before they break. 96) 9S is not the same type of android, his internal firewall is much better because he is meant to hack into other things. Preventing viruses from infecting the android that can hack into all of your stuff makes a lot of sense. 97) Better reception, more bandwidth. It makes sense. 98) Covered later on, a planned thing to bring down Yorha, makes sense it would also incorporate misinformation being fed to Yorha. 99) Covered in a part you skipped and 'sin' 96: 9S stops the sync prematurely, this saves 2B for a short time (though her sync was further along than his). The Commander is the highest ranking Yorha member, also the only unique android (from what I've seen), her firewall isn't as good as 9S' who is actively in danger of being hacked himself on the field, but it is better than the standard Yorha android. 103) No, because A2 isn't connected to the Bunker and didn't sync up with it. How did you miss this, it was explicitly explained when the Commander was infected. 105) 9S wouldn't have listened, he made up his mind as soon as 2B was killed, his mental state was already deteriorating. He stopped listening to the Pod by this point. 110) Actually it does explain why they feel the way they do and what happened. 113) They carry weapons in some sort of magical, magnetic sheath, one that is (augmented by the flight suit) able to swing the Goliath's arm as a weapon, what's to say that same tech isn't helping to support them and make them 'lighter'; Because of this, they are some of the only characters that it makes sense for them to be able to double jump. She hovers over the ground while dashing and leaves a burning line on the ground with her toe, but sand surfing in heals is what gets you? 125) See, told you the game explains it, kinda kills your #110 sin.

My answer to most of these sins is "ego" Androids believing machines don't have feelings, hearts, reasoning, etc. Is their ego. They think they're superior. Yet they're basically the same thing
@Ashurman6667 жыл бұрын
+baboner Not exactly. Androids were made to the image of the humans, meaning they had human like bodies and emotions from the get go. The machines didn't, they DEVELOPED feelings and self reasoning, they didn't have those features at the beginning. If anything, the machines are MORE like humans than the androids are because the machines can EVOLVE
@baboner10467 жыл бұрын
This is why I love this game. Never thought of that. But my comment was more based on 9s's machine comments. He and other androids feel superior despite the blackbox is pretty much based off machines (unless I understood that wrong)
@vetreas3667 жыл бұрын
Actually play through C and it's explained that "nope, they're basically the exact same thing lolz". Heavy spoilers so beware: Androids in general were created by humans, but YoRHa are not regular androids. They were created specifically to give a reason to live to all of the other androids following the extinction of the human species that they were designed to protect and love. YoRHa were created by androids who, in their hubris, thought that machine lifeforms had no feelings and no potential to develop them. They were dead wrong, though, but this would come up much later. YoRHa were created using machine lifeform cores - that is what their black boxes are in reality. The cores and black boxes already fulfilled the same function: they are the reactors that power their bodies and, unless tied to a network, also house their mind and memory. The machine lifeforms and YoRHa are essentially the same thing but, as with all wars, the best way to ensure your soldiers perform dutifully would be to de-"humanize" the opposing side. That's why you always hear the "they're just machine lifeforms, they have no feelings" or "they're just mimicking human behavior, I don't think they know what that even means" excuses at various points during the game. A2's character development comes when she realizes that machine lifeforms are actually sentient through Pascal and his village, for example. This doesn't extend to other androids like Jackass or Anemone as they were not part of YoRHa.
@Ashurman6667 жыл бұрын
+Avadastro There is a theory though, one that i think has some validity, that states that the YoRHa project was infact NOT designed by androids, BUT by the Machine's AI Terminal. Which would make sense, considering the similarities in build
@Betrix50606 жыл бұрын
Only YoRHa models use those and they are just power sources. None of the other androids have them and canonically the few in the know regarding the machine core usage did see the YoRHa as being sub-Android as it were.

Some of the things you call plot holes aren't holes at all. For instance, the reason the Aliens don't attack the moon base is because they have all been dead for centuries along with the humans being dead for just as long
@camiloandresmartinezmonter2287 жыл бұрын
actually aliens didn't need to do anything about that moon base.. actually is more possible that moon base were used by machines for make Yorha. i will just explain why a little further. Human extintion is like 4000 date aliens come way later to a world with now humans only androids ... that was said not only by dates, but by commander to 9s when he discover that moon have a relay base to give androids a reason to fight. So aliens enter and fight emil.. well i still not do that sorry i can help more aobout that part but i will continue after emil. Machines want evolve more, but who can they fight.. androids just have a rumor that humans are extinct and lose their will to fight (and some even live).. some uses those twins androis for escape. So machines decide make a plan, they make yorha put a relay server on moon simulating humans are alive. And then they destroy yorha when time has come, only for start again with new YorHa.. that is covered in last tower.
@iroquoispliskin88927 жыл бұрын
Machine did not make Yorha. The Devola and Popola we meet started the project with some others. It's written in their memories. Black Box and Yorha Project also points towards regular androids as the makers of Yorha. The npc Jackass also gives some details regarding Yorha.
@camiloandresmartinezmonter2287 жыл бұрын
he not devola and popola make the lunar base.. at best that is a place where they storage of adn and human records where... The machines hack the lunar base.. that is what you found in last mission tower. Now why were not resistence.. well they dont have the technology for do that... actually androids never had a chance at all.. did first part of emil.. and seems only emil could stop aliens... at cost of his memories. I have to say again.. that was said by commander and later confirmed in some archives.. when aliens come humans were extinct, and aliens didn't encounter resistence apart of emil. We also know that androids don't have technology for make Yorha (i mean 2A or more of those units).. that is said over and over when they had to make trades with pascal for parts. Last in tower when the AI split and multiply, they are show interested in make the enemy stronger for make themself stronger.. and based in that conversation... seems they had do it for a long time.. actually the sin of that game is not about Yorha... is about machines.. Is implied that they made Yorha a lot of times.... at same time they destroyed Yorha a lot of times.. i dont see why this is time is so different. Other is the dates.. again.. human go extinct 4200 CE.. aliens attack 11945 CE, if androids wanted to make and destroy Yorha for the illlution of humans still there, Yorha will go extinct kinda fast.. more they didn't know that alines will come like dont know over 4000 years later... What is true is the bunker was made by androids not Yorha.. they just put a bunker with data.. and machines hack it.. and use it.. they make Yorha too to keep the illustion. Also if Yorha were made using machines cores.. where they find it.. if aliens come that time later. There is a chance that could had exist before aliens a Yorha, but its not the same as yorha that is 2A or 2B. probably the real answer is more that Yorha 1 was not so good (if were emil actions dont have sense) and later when Yorha was destroyed (by androids or machines or aliens) machine hack human server and make a Yorha 2. or more numbers... PD: actually i have to stop here.. cause still not finish the second part of emil.. and seems i will get the answer there.. a read a little more trying to see the point .. but seems is kinda correct.. there is no 1 YorHa .. there are a lot of YorHas .. and the first ones. the one that made the bunker and human council.. disapear long ago...
@iroquoispliskin88927 жыл бұрын
Camilo, you seem to be misunderstanding a lot of plot points. The documents/dialogues I listed in the previous comment are quite clear. The Machine Report given to you by Jackass at the end also points in the same direction. You forgot that Devola and Popola can use maso energy, and they are in fact the ONLY androids capable of repairing 9S in route C (so all Yorha) and that's not a coincidence. Regarding Terminal Alpha and Beta I advice you to read the script of the Yorha stage play, maybe you will understand better the reason behind their actions. Also the aliens invaded in 5012 and we know that at some point Emil was helped by P-33. For thousands of years the war was only between "regular" androids and machines, the FIRST experimental Yorha were made in 11941 for the Pearl Harbor Descent mission. It all ties in with the documents: androids loss of morale, Devola and Popola starting the Project and sending human data to the moon base, the Black Box description. What the machines did was the opposite: they intentionally caused deficiencies in their network in order to NOT annihilate all androids, cause their only initial program given by the aliens was to "destroy the enemy".
@camiloandresmartinezmonter2287 жыл бұрын
I still not finish emil.. but at first part is stated.. he had to multiply for defeat aliens.. that is equal to say.. YorHa at that time didnt have enough power for that. Now stage play dont have sense.. i mean humans extinction->YorHa -> aliens attack->YorHa destroy. Basicly we can't connect the YorHa destroy with not let other androids know.. cause in middle appear aliens attack.. basicly the back door they put at first.. already happen and probably destroy the YorjHa before alines attack..

Many of the "sins" listed make more sense when you look at the game as a whole (minus the obvious clad outfits and sexuality of 2B and A2) and thus...they are not really sins and more like a premature opinion of someone. This game isnt trying to be deep, it is. Best example: Why do they try to stay alive at all costs, despite having a backup ready most of the time? If you copy your memories into a clone of yourself and you die...well, that clone might be exactly as you were when you died BUT YOU ARE STILL DEAD. Your Consciousness in that very moment is dead aka you are dead. Any clone that exists next or after you is a separate being that just so happens to have the same set of memories than you. Doesn't make it 100% you. That is also why there is no happy ending in this game.
@sleepysera4 жыл бұрын
That would be true if a switch of bodies wasn't treated as the most trivial thing EVER and you doing it every few minutes all throughout the entire game 😂 Every. Single. Time. you teleport or go back to the bunker you replace your body. The ONLY thing you send around is your data, the body gets built by the vending machines/access points whereever you leave one out of fresh materials (confirmed by Yoko Taro himself and also highlighted in the game by the fact that quicktravel causes you to return to regular looks if you had used self-destruct before). So...sorry, but you are wrong about the whole "a clone of you with your conciousness is not you" thing. Just because one resistance member at the start of the game mumbles about the old ship of theseus thought experiment doesn't mean that actually is an issue for any of the characters in the game.
@cephalonhope80064 жыл бұрын
Interesting, I know this is 1 year late but this is something that everyone missed: One of the vendors in the camp talks about this very clearly, where he claims that he refuses to replace his last old part as he fears that by doing so he would no longer be himself, this obviously opens up one of the many conversations in the game, as we are obviously meant to ask ourselves "what exactly makes us "us"". Now, wen androids upload to the bunker, they will still be the same person wen they are reborn, as they are basically linked whit a server, so the data that was on that body is the same used on the later (dare for not a different being), specially since we see that 9S is still conscious while only being data, only wen the upload is sadly impossible is wen they cease to exist, as this "new" them will be lost forever (basically, as long as you are connected to the server, you are always the same person, but any time you are disconnected, or unable to upload is wen you basically "die") But, by the end, we basically get the only happy ending we could wish for, as the Pods all this time, basically created private "memory" data of 9S, 2B and A2, which means, that they were like floating brains saving every memory their master made, so basically the 9S, 2B and A2 we got by the end of route E have ALL of their past lifes memorys, basically, they get to trully be whole as all their data is now one, so yes, 9S, 2B and A2 survived at the end, all thx to the player/pods, as we preserved their memorys for them.
@sleepysera4 жыл бұрын
@@cephalonhope8006 "this is something that everyone missed" That's LITERALLY what I mentioned in my comment. It's the ship of theseus thought experiment. And aside from his silly little thought experiment, it ISN'T an issue for anyone else ever, throughout the entirety of the game.

@@sleepysera I was just trying to explain that for our MCs, specially 2B, mind was more important than body, unlike the android at the camp, they could care less for their body as long as their memory's remain, specially by the end of the game, where 2B transfers her data to A2 instead of bringing everything whit her to the grave, showing that she does care about her memory's despite all she has done to 9S.

@@sleepysera When you switch bodies the characters don't lose any memory, Therefore it doesn't count to them as dying. Skin does not "need" oxygen from outside the body. Live skin cells receive oxygen to sustain themselves the same way every other organ in the body receives it - via oxygenated blood in capillaries. The reason why you might feel uncomfortable like your "skin can't breathe" in non-porous/airtight clothing like rubber gloves is not because your skin is asphyxiating from a lack of oxygen, but rather because it's not able to release the heat your body is generating. As your body heat is trapped in the covered region, you get hotter and hotter and start sweating, which is what makes you feel clammy and uncomfortable.

Dartigan, not every piece of information is spoon fed to you like in some other games, you have to find out the meaning of particular things because Yoko Taro leaves them open ended. for example. the YorHa base is black and white because the Androids see the whole situation in black and white, the androids are the good people and the machines are the bad people. 2B says emotions are prohibited so she doesn't get close with 9S because spoilers. the commander doesn't enforce the "no emotions" rule because the operators she's surrounded are full of emotions. Android models who go to earth wear blindfolds that serve as a visor. Ironic, but it's meant to symbolize that they "see no evil" while the operators "speak no evil". A2 doesn't have a blindfold because she was betrayed by YoRHa and knows something is wrong. 9S learned the "Truth" about the whole situation when he took off the blindfold.

It's also implied that 2b knew A2 sometime before the events of the first game, cause she herself was thinking of deserting so she wouldn't have to kill 9s, who she had growing feelings for. 21:01 Still didn't realize that he asked 9s if he wanted to KILL not FUCK 2b

About the kill/fuck censor thing, it's both. It can also be love, kiss, hold, and other things but the most accepted one is it's both kill _and_ fuck.

"Fuck" can totally mean different things. One is making love, having a sexual intercourse. The other is pummeling someone to their last speck of dust.

I had the feeling that around A2's story the reasoning is that everyone is operating on "Local only" to prevent the virus from infecting anyone else, which is why A2 can't be infected by the virus, the PODs are just doing a sort of Shakespearean between-the-acts summary for the player and couldn't interact with one another either. 9S wasn't actually infected until he stuck an infected android's arm his own to replace his, he was just blinded by his emotions.

I don't usually comment on videos, ever, but this is really good. You are very concrete, the video is fun to watch, and it feels really refreshing to see someone with a different point of view. I've also noticed some of these things myself when going through the game for the first time, and they have rather bothered me so it's nice to see that I'm not as alone as I'd think :) Kudos to you friend!

The bits about the machines fearing death is because those machines weren't connected to the network. You also conveniently skip over the bits of the Adam and Eve fights where the former purposely disconnects from the network to experience death and the latter's connection is cut by 9S.

The Aliens attacking the bunker thing isn't a plothole there were no humans on the moon.
@talezshin7 жыл бұрын
Aliens 'are' attacking the Androids and YoRHa is a total pain in their neck. Why not launch a full-scale attack on Bunker? In fact, aliens are actually capable of interstellar travel. Say, a single burst of anti-matter projectile would annihilate the bunker and be done with them. Seriously, bringing up some fantasy world based character to mush up alien attack plot hole is just lazy. Those 'Dimension travel' is quite common in cheap (and cheesy) fantasy novels and even became cliche. You know what? You don't have to make any plots complex at all. Complex plots only work in political drama such as Romans of Three Kingdoms, Legend of Galactic Heroes, etc. or thrillers. Not Sci-Fi love story. -_-

Dude, I love your content. However, this by far the worst video younmade about a video game . it is seem whether you weren't paying atention or you didn't play the game as a whole. One example was when you said," the human was never in the moon" that was explianed in 9s campaigne in where the commander said to him that not only the human did not make it to the moon but as wel they were extint before the alien invasion.

@busterbladex7 жыл бұрын
A good chunk of the sins here are actually explained or more laid out after awhile of thinking. For the best example is the "I know you want to **** 2B" moment. In truth, it's actually 2 things that fit it that ultimately works with 9S: Fuck...and Kill. That's what the memory section with him stabbing 2B's corpse was, yet his reaction to having her memories be deleted and yes, the sin part you skipped over when he meets the 2B duplicates and says he finally has the chance to kill her. Despite the fact he's been constantly mindwiped by getting to close to the truth by 2B/2E(which is foreshadowed by an out of the way mission on 9S's playthrough in that Executioner Units exist specifically to kill YoRHa units), he still retains his the memory that he both knows 2B is his executioner and the fact he really does like her...but hates her for constantly killing him(and yes, it's EXACTLY the same way in reverse for 2B, she HATES killing him over and over again but has no choice due to those being her orders). That's why he still knows 2B even though he didn't upload his data back at the beginning of the game and why 2B reacted in that way.
@lunerblade137 жыл бұрын
I didn't realize the kill part good observation.
@busterbladex7 жыл бұрын
It's mainly due to what Adam was talking about to 9S earlier, about the violence of mankind and other things. It seems to come straight the hell out of nowhere that he would suddenly bring up sex but I believe that was the point, to be a pumpfake and get you to think of it in that context rather than what Adam was talking about earlier. And of course, it lines up with how 9S interacts with 2B after she dies.
@buenosleche65757 жыл бұрын
Xhominid, The One and Only It can't mean kill. In the French translation, there are only enough asterisks for "fuck" and a few other words that would make no sense.
@busterbladex7 жыл бұрын
Except it does. One of Jackass's missions as 2B has her spell out that what makes the YoRHA units want to kill and what makes them want to love is basically the same emotion for them. And it also makes sense with how 9S ultimately sees 2B if you take his side missions and how he acts during the second half otherwise.
@furyberserk7 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. 9s never had his data backed up. He woke up before 2b and was told to report to her chambers. He is also always acting the way he does, so any personality he shared with her is innate and isn't something new at all. This is literally no evidence within game that shows that 2b is the executioner of 9s for the reasons stated to have her be so, considering it's 2b's first encounter with him fighting the goliath and 9s' first time having a partner, considering he remarks going on solo missions. If there is a time skip like from ending A and the start of C, then I could understand, because 3 weeks have passed, and 9s might have witnessed her killing him a number of times or something, but the version from start of A doesn't have those memories. I feel maybe the translation wasn't good enough, but it's currently blank information.

About devola and popola, the game does not need to develop what they did in the previous game because it is a sequel, is halo 3 supposed to give a short recap of the events of halo 2?
@XanfireX17 жыл бұрын
While I understand why this is the case, I find it pretty sad that most Nier: Automata players play it before the original Nier. Mainly because: A. Since the devs completely spoil OG Nier, new players to the franchise won't be able to experience it blind. B. New players won't be able to pick up on all of the references to OG Nier. C. New players can't see the importance that Emil, Devola, and Popola had to the series, and their stories won't be fully appreciated. This is especially true for Emil, who imo has the most depressing story line out of everybody!
