@frost96816 жыл бұрын
(I'm assuming this is a joke, but if it isn't...) Karate is very grounded and mechanical in movement. An aerial kick of this nature is too free-form (not to mention that it's useless in a 3D environment, it only works due to the game being 2D) and inconsistent. All movements in Karate work like a well-oiled machine (precise, and all of the body participates in each and every move - but not too rigid), and power originates from hip movement and stance, which don't actually apply in a move like this.
@frost96816 жыл бұрын
@superkami guru And what makes you say that? It's one of the most mechanical fighting styles out there. When I say mechanical, I do not mean slow and robotic, but that every part of your body plays a part in every movement you do. You say "uh nope" as if you have some clue of what you're talking about. Care to provide literally any evidence or counterpoints other than "lol". If you're talking sports karate, I 100% agree. Sports karate is lackluster and has close to no complexity in its mechanics. When I say karate, I mean real, traditional karate (I personally study JKA Shotokan, which is the most traditional and complex style of karate that exists nowadays)

@@frost9681 isn't karate not very good in an actual fight
@frost96814 жыл бұрын
Andres Garcia depends on the style. Traditional Karate (Budo Shotokan, like they teach at the Japan Karate Association) is very effective because it maximises power and speed unlike any other fighting style. The only real downside of Karate is that your side-to-side movement is pretty limited, but if you fight smart then that doesn’t matter. Westernised styles, which is most of what you see, or fake styles (like the style in Karate Kid, which isn’t even remotely close to karate) are very ineffective because they miss the primary mechanics that make karate effective.

This video is not quite right tho. You have to realize that Chun Li sometimes would actually use her hands to spin herself upside down during the Spinning bird kick. +Hoerkelis As he stated, those "huge muscles" have been exagerated over time and in SF2 (where she does the move), her legs aren't that huge. Also, no matter what, I don't think any human limb could ever withstand that amount of force.
@sophiedixon12439 жыл бұрын
+Hoerkelis I think you might be wrong on this on.... you don't dislocate you're limb through muscle, I believe its through the socket.
@SwoleTommyPickles9 жыл бұрын
+Volvary, exaggerated or not, each addition to the game's main series is canon therefore that's officially her new leg size. SFV takes place years in-game after SF2 and all the characters have aged and changed with time, Birdie is the biggest example of that. Completely different design and put on tons of weight, skin color even altered, but it's still canon and what Birdie officially looks like now.

It is dangerous delivered in certain circumstances, ie if your head were against a solid wall, a boxer could crack your skull. Thing is Chun-Li's kick is so potent that she just rips their heads off, and if they were to be against a solid wall, their heads would just get completely crushed.

Okay, at the risk of being *that guy*, here's something I noticed that would throw off your numbers. You analogized her legs to a rock on a string. That's considered a point mass. Basically, the formula you used assumes all the mass is in her foot. A leg is considered a rigid body (inb4 [generic NSFW joke]), which means you need to take into account their moment of inertia, or the fact that the mass of her legs is distributed across the entire length, unlike a rock on a string, where all the mass is at the end. The formula for this is (moment of inertia)*(rotational speed)^2. That would normally be a lot of calculus, but for the purposes of this video, and for the CE (Civil Engineer/Close Enough) answer, you'd probably be okay approximating with a cylinder with a diameter somewhere between her thunder thighs and calves. Cylinders have a known formula for moment of inertia you can look up online. You can also use this approximation to get a better number for a lift coefficient. Conveniently, NASA to the rescue on this one with the Kutta-Joukowski Lift Theorem for a Cylinder. www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k-12/airplane/cyl.html

***** Let me just check, on what game theories there were RTS... Well, actually, my assumption that rts aren't mainstream enough for this channel was quite wrong as there were episode on SC2. Hmm, that was forgettable, even though I liked it at the time. Also, being niche doesn't mean it can't be huge. Let me explain this ridiculous tough of mine: as an example, Undertale. I would consider this game quite niche as there a lot of gamers that don't get it. For example, there is like 3 friends of mine that enjoyed the game, even though I recommended it to at least 10 of them.
