Friends, today I’m back with part 2 of our FNAF timeline, what we’re dubbing “The Afton Era”. This spans most of what we see in the games. I’m excited to finally be diving into the games after spending the last episode having to do a lot of extrapolating from outside sources. You all are going to want to STRAP IN for this one, cause it’s gonna get CRAZY

Guys, the reason part 3 hasn't been released is because Scott Cathon knew MatPat was getting close to the truth, so he lured Mat to the back room with the promise of FNAF lore and killed him.

It’s honestly amazing that MatPat at this point isn’t just putting in random theories that he thought were true in the lore. He is basically actually bringing in the compelling of what FNAF basically was a horror game franchise about darkness and tragedy of your childhood. And seeing MatPat starting to bring back those memories really gives us appreciation.

It started as a fun kinda interesting story. Then Scott saw he could make hella bank, and just made more, more and even more. Just boring and stupid explanations to something that started interesting. Just a mess at this point. A real shame the intriguing lore was ruined by greed. And the fact that MatPat makes even more money off of his FNAF themed videos is a testament to the fact that the series was going down the drain. Just a weird money grab since year 3.

this gave me chills. Afton’s logic of “my son died, my daughter died…so Henry’s daughter must die too” is so nightmarish and expertly represents Afton’s descent into madness. never mind the fact that it was his own other son (and by extension, him, since he made Michael so bitter about being a permanent babysitter) that caused the death of the Crying Child. poor Charlie and Henry.

Just want to say, I'm in a criminal psychology class. Afton's whole thing matches the habits of an organized serial killer, and OSKs usually torture their victims in some way. I hope matpat doesn't feel bad at all if the theory isn't 100% because regardless I'm so happy these videos are being put out and I have fun videos I can go back and rewatch whenever I want to remember the story. I'm so grateful to mat for dedication to this game and his fans and this tedious difficult storyline. Thank you!
@Volair
@Volair Жыл бұрын
Absolutely the right take. These are, as stated in every video, "just a theory". When you present a theory, you should present it as if it's correct. This is to present the idea in full, of what could possibly be the right answer (but being stated as a theory immediately makes it clear that it's ultimately best guesses with evidence and logic applied). Books and movies have done this for ages in cautionary tales (think 1984, Fahrenheit 451, etc). These are looks into a future that could have possibly been, or at least aspects of one such future.

Hi Mat, your timeline is great I love it and, while rewatching this part, I might have found the way to explain why Elizabeth's death come after her brother's : Remember that in The Silver Eyes we are told that Michael Brooks died in the pizzeria ? Well maybe it was an accident with the springlock suit and it could be what the crying child have seen and makes him fear the animatronics and why William wants to keep him away from them. After all, Michael's death happened, according to the book, 10 years before the current events of the book so in 1983. Even if the book is probably 90% not canon this could fit in the story of the games. Maybe this accident was not report in the game (in any way) and is not refering to the crying child but happened the same year just before. Regarding Elizabeth missing in her room maybe it could be explained simply because she was with her mother. After all William's wife leave him at this point, according to your timeline, but she still probably want to stay with her children. I know it's probably a little bit late to come back to this but I hope I'm not doing mistakes and you could find it helpful if you'll read the comment. Anyway great job with the theory you are always the best. I hope we could solve FNAF one day, maybe 😂.

I like the theory about Cassidy because everyone really was wondering why she just happened to be the ONE he shouldn't have killed. Thinking that it had nothing to do with Cassidy being a special child, it's just that her death was so violent and probably so much more painful that she couldn't let it go. I like that explanation than leaving at "the 1 you shouldn't have killed"

My only question is though, if elizabeth's death is what caused this chain of events, then why would baby be designed for killing? Its because of this that I think the crying child dying first makes more sense, because it starts william's descent into madness which gets him to design robots like baby, and the post bite incident freddy's makes it seem more like Henry would be cutting William out of the equation

The Crying Child’s death being William’s motive for murder has always seemed right for me. Story-wise, making William a serial killer out to get revenge on Henry and Fazbear Entertainment for creating the dangerous springlock suits that killed his son by shutting down everything to do with them is the perfect motivation for him and it explains why he keeps coming back. I have found an issue regarding FNaF 4 (What else is new) But if Michael keeps running away from the shitty house, then why does FNaF 4 gameplay take place in the bigger house with the grandfather clock and stuff? This may not sound like a big deal at first glance, but we can even confirm that Michael’s room in the FNaF 4 house doesn’t even have a window as we can look in all four directions. It also doesn’t have a door in the front, but rather two doors to the side. All of a sudden this minor difference causes a huge conflict. I theorize that the shitty house comes after Fredbear’s closes and they lose money. But the nightmares happen before that, sort of as payback on Michael for killing his son. I mean does Midnight motorist have to happen the night he kills Charlie? I don’t think Jr’s is a bar, I think it’s the refurbished Fredbear’s Diner right after the FNaF 2 killings. Which would mean the building is on lockdown according to Phone Guy which is why William wasn’t allowed inside to look for Michael, who ran away from the shitty house to check on the grave. I think. I don’t know, but I hope that lines up.

Am i wrong, or did he contradict himself? Matpat said the 4th game is the crying childs older brother being kept inside the house due to his father needed to keep him inside, but later he talks about the 4th game animatronics having an opening stomach because of what the crying child saw happened with baby. If im wrong, please someone correct me.
@jamesd.c.4810
@jamesd.c.4810 10 ай бұрын
He just said that CC's fear for animatronics might have originated from Elizabeth's death. Baby's stomach opening thing is something that can imply that the Nightmares have the same thing going with their belly full of teeth. Both the Nightmares were used to scare CC and Michael. So, it does still make sense for Michael to be the protagonist of FNAF 4.

In all honestly, this version of the timeline actually makes sense. The fact that Michael actually draws a picture of Nightmare Fredbear in the Logbook makes me think that we weren't wrong about Michael being the one we play in Fnaf 4 (but not the kid who gets bitten). The flowers and the IV could be him either remembering where his brother is and *who* put him there, and it makes even more sense if the Nightmares are hallucinations rather than an actual nightmare. I believe in the Fnaf books when they talk about the illusion discs, they mention sometimes feeling almost dazed or confused, meaning having actual hallucinations that weren't created by Afton more plausible. Michael would also probably be really tired staying up that late (and he probably would be up in the day too), and more tired the more it all went on, making it even more likely to have those hallucinations too.
