And the funniest part: None of those deaths are the fault of Pokemon GO. The players are responsible with their own safety. The app can't monitor their environment to keep them safe. All the app can do is to give warnings and remind them from time to time. So Pokemon GO actually saved lives more than it took lives, because it didn't kill anyone in the first place. It's your own stupidity and carelessness if you get injured while playing.

Selin Naz Sur honestly I'd have to agree. sure Pokémon go can get a bit weird when you play it in its real adictive spots and something weird happens while you play it (like someone's favorite Pokémon popping up on their grave, or somebody playing it in a hospital), but technically it's your own fault if you get hurt while playing. plus, one of the loading screens on the app says to be careful and check your soroundings.

Correct, the game regularly will tell you if you're moving too fast and ask if you're a passenger in a vehicle. If you choose to play and drive, YOU are choosing to make that decision, the game has to just accept that you're being honest when you say you're not driving. If you play with at least one other person, ride to a location together and have the passenger hold both phones, it's not hard to do.

I'd really like to see someone do a follow-up study on those car accidents and deaths by accident. My first thought is that since accidents caused by Go would likely be very low speed (since you can't play at high speeds), the rate of death would be significantly lower than in the average car accident where there is likely to be more force behind the crash. Of course that's not taking into account the speed of other potential vehicles involved in the crash, but still...

THAT'S IT!! Literally mentioned to someone that Pokemon Go somehow seemed unsettling to me; it's because of the 'unawareness' factor! At the time I didn't think of the whole 'still dependent on staring at a screen despite getting up and exercising' factor, and I remember hearing about people DELIBERATELY bullying, even MUGGING or ROBBING, players during the first year or so after it got REALLY popular! My mom even told me that she kept hearing about this while helping a friend in Portland, Oregon, and how people should be cautious while walking the trails in parks and cities, and to be aware of one's surroundings at all times. I never even knew the game really existed by that time, but I didn't care much anyway -- Narcolepsy + College + suriving early adulthood isn't a good thing for a game with that magnitude of dedication....
