In Archie, two different types of Brass Knuckles do exist. The first kind were mass-produced robotic soldiers who fought against the Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy (a pastiche of Marvel's original Guardians of the Galaxy) in an alternate post-apocalyptic Mobius in issue 103. The second kind was more or less a brass recolor of Metal Knuckles with brass knuckles instead of spikes that only showed up in an Off Panel strip from issue 243. Edit: didn't watch the video all the way through when I said this, didn't realize the Off Panel one was acknowledged at the end.

That would check out: Of the few Shadow Android models, one was just low-poly, one could actually pass as organic (But had yellow markings), and the Heroes ones were visually flawless copies. A Knuckles Android being a passing, if off-color, copy would make sense.

Fun fact: In fleetway, Chaos is a mutated Drakon instead of a mutant chao. Seeing the alien nature of chaos's ancestors, it almost retroactively makes the Drakons the comic equivalent of Sonic Frontiers's Ancients

@@conradojavier7547 Theres definately a case to be made for them basing both the modern chaotix and the Metarex(japanese name would probably be more accurately translated as Metalex, but the accidental dinosaur pun was neat foreshadowing) on things from StC. Despite having less oversight from Sega, StC DID get closer to the games in terms of feel, probably because, as it was also a sega game review magazine, there were people in the building who could help with capturing that game feeling.

It's really cool to see Mecha Knuckles get some love. I never been the biggest fan of him but I've always kind of liked his design it was erie and kind of unsettling to me when he shows his true form. It kind of reminded me a lot of something like the Terminator. I had played Sonic 2 well before Advanced so I was already pretty familiar with Mecha Sonic but he never creeped me out the same way Mecha Knuckles did. Maybe it's idea of a robot taking your form and looking nearly identical to you but there's certain features that just look off that kind of make it unsettling. That stuff has always creeped me out as a kid.

8:46 I figure you won't be covering the official-unofficial continuation StC Online, so let me pitch in to say that those knuckles metalix eventually get picked up by Knuckles himself and modified into angel island defenders, at the small cost of getting dangerously close to triggering porkers PTSD for metallic. Its a pretty late plotpoint, doesn't really come up until after the big finale to the comics primary plotline which wrapped up shortly before IDW started, but we got there eventually.

My version of mecha knuckles for sonic advance ,is that he is colored white and red (which is a reference to wechidna) he has the same body shape as mecha sonic mark 2 but he’s legs are more armored and he has no wheels on his heels and he’s dreads are thrusters which give him the ability to glide through air.
