Defiantly easier to replace than switching the joycon shells 👍🏽👍🏽

I love the guide, specifically because all the other youtubers cut their own shells and did soldering things that i didnt do and didnt need to do. I just have two questions, none of the other youtubers put electrical tape on the back of the ribbon cable? Is that necessary? Aldo, there is a difference between 32 pin and 40 pin motherboard, and you have to do something with the ribbon cable depending on which it js, do you know how to tell which one you have and what you have to do? Thanks

Do you have a tutorial for the one with the adjustable brightness?
@Nesmaniac3 жыл бұрын
Looks great. I'm thinking of ordering it from where you did. How long did it take it to arrive? Also, are you happy with the standard brightness without the soldering? Thanks.
@ZarriasYT3 жыл бұрын
It took about 3 weeks to arrive but this was in the height of the pandemic - it think the brightness level is great and it saves a whole lot of time!

I recently installed the ips v2 screen mod on my gba recently, i soldered all the wires for the brightness and everything and it worked perfectly. But, the screen is missaligned :P
@GuyManley4 жыл бұрын
Me too. The site I bought it from in the USA was sold out of pre cut shells and the instructions I found online were not clear that they were for the offset screen.

The cover where you've installed the IPS screen was trimmed? or the screen fit perfectly as in a original one?
@papasmurfington52643 жыл бұрын
I got a funny playing screen, and the color palette turned blue. Have you ever had an issue like that before? If anyone has, let me know how you guys handled it with funny playing. The LCD works fine except the color palette turns blue unexpectedly and stays blue which is peculiar. I've done this mod, with a funny playing IPS v2 screen, before and this is the first I've seen with the LCD being faulty by changing the color palette to blue.

No I've never had this, are you sure the connections were done properly? I'm no expert but sounds to me like a lose connection.

I just bought this exact kit and the ribbon cable is way too wide to fit in the motherboard, I did exactly what you did so I don’t understand?
@biglewis73 жыл бұрын
I had the same "issue" with the ribbon cable. Turns out you only need to use the other end of the cable to fit in your motherboard. Just plug it in the slot before placing the board on the shell, then apply a little pressure to it until you can screw the screws and assembly other parts. (Remember to put all buttons and the LED too)

Hey, this is the first time I have ever done it and I didn't find it too hard but I do have some experience with electronics, I would say maybe a 4/10.

Can I use the original cover for modding in the IPS screen and rechargeable Battery instead of buying a new case?

I don't mean to be rude but at 7:59 I really wish youd have shown yourself attaching those on screen because I wasn't sure if you needed to slide them together or if they snap on top of each other, now I know its the latter. also the new buttons are caved in and dont press on install, I don't think I forgot any steps though, why is that?
@ZarriasYT3 жыл бұрын
No need to apologise, polite critism is much appreciated! As for the buttons, there is a soft membrane behind the buttons, are you sure you didn't forget this when you reinstalled the case?

These are definitely on my list to do! I need to obtain a worse condition GBC at the moment though as mine is mint in box so I don't want to mod it! SP I have and am waiting to reshell - are you waiting for an IPS mod on that too or just changing the shell?
