@ianzander50577 ай бұрын
@@Sumitha-nv2sj yes you can. you can do everything in this video in Blender if you want. The controls are different. And the way you do some things are different though. So maybe find a video for Blender. Blender is free but you can also get Maya Free for a month. Maya and Blender are tools to allow you to create what ever you think up. Just like looking at different brands of hammers or drills. Some may have a fancy feature to do this and the other one has a fancy feature to do that. However, they both get the job done well.

I was a blender user, till i joined my college, i had to learn maya, but I was a beginner to 3D, the first video I searched and found was this one, took me 2 days just to finish this properly, now 1 year later, I work as a 3D Artist at a company, couldn't have done it without this tutorial, thanks a lot, After learning this tutorial, i went to several many, with different college projects, then i found the youtube Mario(elementza), all uphill from there. especially Maya tutorials. I find that there is a big difference in the mood and feel of videos for Maya and things like Blender or Marmoset or Painter and so on. Maya's videos tend to be dryer. I think these differences are because either people are trying to be more or less professional or its just the type of people who use each program. Blender's videos tends to a bit more lighthearted. Marmoset seems more lighthearted than Substance Painter. Like you said, I enjoyed this guy's humorous approach. profenalprofenal

Seriously. I think many times teachers forget that they already know how everything works, so they forget to break their instruction down to the simplest step/idea. It's like they're afraid of insulting people's intelligence but fail to realize that the reality is that 99% of people who are learning this stuff won't actually get insulted. This stuff is complicated but a good teacher makes it uncomplicated.

For anyone having trouble with the beveling at 05:41, you might have made some accidental extrusion with a thickness of 0. It doesn't change how the mesh looks but breaks the topology for beveling. Deleting any unwanted extrusion in the channel box fixed it for me.

This is awesome!!! I want to study Maya and i downloader and start it, and i see that i don't absoulutely what to do, and a watch this video and my first emotion that maya is more diffuculty to start if you don't have an 3d experience at all, but when i watch this video 80% of my questions about how to do on Maya is closed. Highly recomend this video if you don't have a real practice and not to much long guide about how to start 3d in Maya - this is the gamechanger for me. Actually 3 year ago i want to start 3d in Maya and want to watch some Russian 3d channel about that and speaker make bunch of lessons more than hour what in this video makes in 20 minutes. Mind blowing!!!

I'm currently using Maya in my Animation program, and my modelling professor is big on cleanup. From what I've been able to grasp on the concept so far, it doesn't look like you did any cleanup once you combined all the pieces you used to make some of the objects. What's your opinion on the importance of cleanup? I personally feel like, for something like this, where you're just creating a scene for viewing purposes, cleanup wouldn't be necessary, but he thinks it should always be done. I don't enjoy the cleanup part haha.
