If Dan wants context, resident evil has grown its story in sets of 3. 1-3 was a virus, 4-6 was a parasite, and 7-9 will be about mold/fungus/bacteria. its hard to say without 9, but they are using the theme of pathogens to explore the story, beginning from man made to ancient spooky curses/ primordial beings.
