6 was the only one that I’ve ever played all the way through, and I absolutely loved it! But I can see Dans reasoning. The new writers threw out a lot of the established story just to make up their own thing. Pretty crappy. Beatrice is replaced with Stellar. No crew. I remember starting a new game and going to the secret lab's coordinates early. You could see the three-domed station, before the third dome was jettisoned, and someone hailed your ship saying that you shouldn't be there. It's pretty awesome how many little easter eggs there were in these early games. (Also, the death scene when you fail to rescue Cliffy is pretty fun, too.)

Keep in mind that, at this point in the game, you were just ambushed by one of the mutants in the previous scene, and Quirk said he's under attack, and now you're here, investigating this mysterious pod on a strange planet with eerie music, so tension is really high. I was on the edge of my seat, and I just about jumped out of my skin when that jarring chord played, but I laughed my butt off about it afterward. (Bonus points: If you touch it again, the narrator says something like, "you're either an idiot or a masochist") :P 2:47 I only now realize the implication of Beatrice saying "if only you had something for me to grab on to" while holding his pants. ;) 19:39 Is Dan like a reverse Zoolander? He can only turn left? :P Also, I gotta say, this scene probably screws up people who are red/green colourblind. (World's most common colourblindness) 34:37 It was more than the "Zany Transporter Bloopers." That was just one page. SQ5 came with a full newspaper entitled "Galactic Enquirer." (Obviously, a parody of National Enquirer) They put a lot of effort into it. As I recall, the front page headline said "Baby born with only one head," and showed a woman with two heads, one of which looked astonished, while the other was doting over the baby, who had the face of one of the developers, a middle-aged bearded guy. It was as bizarre and silly as it sounds. :P 39:41 If I recall correctly, if you don't call Flo to tell her that you were turned into a fly, that's exactly what happens. Cliffy swats you and you die. :D 40:41 I think there's a lot more you can infer from this than "everything got horribly screwed up." For starters, the lab used to be a lot bigger, with three domes. 40:22 it's saying things like "intruder alert," "fire suppression system activated" and "Dome 1 depressurized." So the station came under attack and some kind of fight went on. 40:30 They abandoned the station and tried to destroy it, presumably to stop their work from falling into the wrong hands. Dome 1 and Dome 2 were destroyed, leaving only Dome 3, the one you're in. 40:38 And this is interesting... someone canceled the self-destruct of Dome 3. A mysterious somebody didn't want their work to be destroyed. Hmm... the plot thickens...
