It's so nostalgic, because it's so evocative. I remember sitting on the floor of my bedroom, fingers in the forest green carpet under me, my back against my bed, playing this. I was happier then, I could focus and I wasn't so damn stressed and scared all the time. Life just... made more sense, and this song was the capstone of a long journey. We don't get those anymore. We're inundated with so much media it's hard to form emotional attachments to them.

I just played it last year, and having never played a FF game before it caught me off guard immediately, and I really think it has become one of my favorite games even having discovered it so recently. My only regret is not having discovered it around the time of its release. The cultural impact it must have had, or discussing it with other friends who were playing it as well... That must have been a ride. But yeah, I can imagine this game being able to immediately transport one back in time when life was simpler, less hostile, more hopeful.

It was my father and I lost him last year, but I remember playing this with him, at 11 years old, and we played it over again when the demo disc memory plague happened, and again in high school when I could pull guides from the internet, we finally got all the ultimate weapons, ground through the tamer proving grounds, got all the secret and dark aeons, killed Sin and Yuyevon. Then we kinda drifted apart.

Heck, I played FFX during one of those medical issues (probably the reason for my emotional ties to it). It helps remind me to enjoy every moment in life, as if it was your last day.

FF X is one of the few, if not the only FF that emotionally grips you the second you see the the first cutscene. You immediately build a relationship with the characters, you just know there's an unbreakable bond between them and that tragic events are about to happen. Uematsu understood that very well and worked it into his music flawlessly. For me, this is the best FF soundtrack of all time and one of the best soundtracks in general.

Some of the best experiences are your first time reading a book, playing a game for the first time, hearing a song for the first time. You guys just brought me back 19 years when I first experienced the unforgettable story, gameplay, music. This was beautiful. Thank you for bringing those memories back.

10 is so far my only FF and my one of my favorite solo player games ever, I cried and just felt a bond with the characters and just the music was simply fantastic, gave this game a try because it was my cousins favorite and I knew since I played Kingdom Hearts this would be good

I'm 32, and played trough the game (again) just this month. The music made me sometimes close my eyes and just pause... Not sure if any games have made me do that before. Magnificent is the only word i can come up with. And if anyone anywhere starts the first few tones, i'll bawl my eyes out. Wow. Just wow. This game went through all of my chldhood, and still lives with me today.

This song has a new association for me, now. I would play through FFX every few years or so, and on my most recent playthrough, I lost my cat. Not just A cat, but one of the sweetest, most affectionate and wonderful animals I've ever had the pleasure of owning. She went missing and never came back, right towards the end of my most recent playthrough. And not missing as in someone else got her, but missing as in we're pretty certain wild coy dogs got her. It was a really difficult time, but oddly enough, the themes of the game and the challenges they all deal with helped to ground me and remind myself that death is just a part of life. Everyone in that game lost someone, and they kept going, so it helped remind me that I'd be alright and move on with my grief. So, this song made me cry today when listening. I don't know if I'll ever be able to play the game again, because anything in it reminds me of her, but I will always love it and appreciate how it helped me cope with death, even if some people don't consider the death of a beloved pet as significant.
