WE WON : DMCA LIFTED. Today we're celebrating a victory against copyright madness. We won, but at what price. Vast majority of music nowadays is possesed not by composers but by very large record label with little regard to the rights of interprets and smaller artists. I hope this will be an example to advocate for a more balanced industry between big industry majors and small independant artists. There is laws and international agreements protecting us after all, to facilitate the performance of copyrighted music and overriding local laws. We still had a lot of legal costs during the process so if you'd like to support us, Spotify and Patreon are very precious options! It's now time to let Attack on Titan rest. At least until October... ;) And it’s time to start to move on and to show you what's next for us.

The fact that this peice of music was created for an anime show. Still blows my mind away. The impact I get just hearing this is beyond words. But to think on how how millions of people felt watching the scene with this piece playing in the background, must have been something truly powerful and magnificent. The orchestra did a phenomenal job and the Soloiest, did absolutely amazing. The song truly came to life through everyone.

"The fact that this piece of music was created for an anime show. Still blows my mind away." This here. I have been saying for years that outside of Japan, Japanese composers are massively under-rated. The music that always hits me harder than anything always ends up being from a video game or anime from a Japanese composer. And I always get the same response from people I introduce to the music. They can't believe it comes from a game or anime.

@@Kairac112 I think now that the series is finished, this song that was played at the end of the first episode still encapsulates the feeling of Attack on Titan in it's entirety. It feels like a desperate cry at the injustice of the world and a yearning for justice or fairness in a world where there is so little. It feels like a representation of Eren who, even with the most power out of anyone in the world was still bound to his fate and the pain and suffering involved. Trapped by his predetermined fate as if he were a bird in a cage, as the title says, truly a tragic song and story yet so beautiful.

I think this might also be caused by the way the music is written. Japanese music has different rhythms than western music and different ways of accentuating words within the lyrics. So the german words are sometimes stressed on the wrong syllable. But that also makes it so pretty and unique imo

Goosebumps throughout the entire thing but, when 3:47 kicked with the crescendo into the cutoff? hairs on the back of my neck went up. and then when the music exploded in, with the PIPE ORGAN? my jaw fell to the floor, brows furrowed in awe. Then the soloist's final vocalization at 4:31? AAHHHH. AND THEN?? 4:37 the orchestra joining into one unified chorus sending it to the end? Hands over my mouth, tears in my eyes. It's as if I had heard the piece for the very first time when I was 11 years old, all over again.

Wow, that's truly exceptional! It ranks among the finest soprano performances, complementing one of the most captivating stories ever told by humanity. When Mozart expressed his intention to compose an opera in German, skeptics dismissed the idea, asserting that German wasn't a suitable language for such a medium. However, this masterpiece unequivocally proves them wrong-German is undeniably a remarkably beautiful language for opera. Thank you for presenting this beautiful concert and making me fall in love with this magnificent lady.

I mean, the idea that German is a wonderful and beautiful singing language was no news anymore in Mozart's time. German had long been successfully used in music. There had also been German operas before, but it is true that their popularity took off with Mozart. In classical music German comes only second to Italian. French, Spanish, English, Russian...are all used less commonly than German. I'm always a bit baffled when today's audience is so surprised that German is a beautiful singing language. I guess, they must not learn about Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Wagner, Strauss etc. in school or their private life anymore.

@@mimamo you have Hitler to thank for that. Modern peoples primary impressions of German as a language is violent, loud, aggressive and hateful sounding. The German they get exposed to is either of movie characters or history class teachings, which as you might have guessed are all about ww2.

If I could sing this song like her I would never shut up. The lady & the orchestra were the definition of perfection here. Give them all the awards. Combining her voice, the superbly talented musicians & choir, together with AOT - which is also a masterpiece, is what art is about. The goosebumps and all. It's what happens when great artists combine their talents together. You don't get a combination of perfection like this often. Thank you so much for this. I also appreciate that you guys took the time to add the English subtitles, it really contributed a lot emotionally.

This arrangement is brilliant. One of my favourite parts, the cello in 4:16 and the dramatic neogothic organ at the chorus. SPOILER ALERT: I was waiting a new arrangement of this song in the final episode. Never heard anybody talking about it but I would love to answer that someday... Keep on doing projects like this and Shinzoo wo Sasageyo!
