Tinkuwu that’s pretty neat. The one thing that stops me from doing that stuff, and I know it’s a me problem, is that I’m a perfectionist, I hate having to kill/get caught cause it impacts my stats no matter how small, even though I know I would have much more fun trying to be inventive. I think it’s a hold over from mgs3, peace walker, and most other mgs games were you get penalized for doing bad stuff.

Have you been to a warzone, more specifically the warzone that MGSV was set in: Afghanistan? I have and I can tell you, there are plenty of civilians getting around that place. That's where GTA Online succeeds and the Storymode fails. The story is fine. It's a generic action film and that sort of shit fits GTA best, but I totally agree with the whole "the game needs more open world missions" deal. In GTA Online, you GET that freedom, you GET that moment where you realize "Oh shit I need to get on the roof of this building but I don't have a helicopter." So you gotta drive your bum ass all across town, grab your heli, and parachute down. It's fucking amazing. They should do the same shit in GTA VI, and try to improve on that story.

And then there are online transactions. Personally, I enjoyed the Single Player mode more than the Multiplayer. Mostly because of the crashes, bugs, cloud failures, and even more crashes I experienced. And the lack of balancing in their games, In GTAIV, deathmatches had pickup weapons, in GTAV, you can spawn with a Minigun and destroy every low level player. Same for the races and free roam. Simply put, GTAV was my least favorite GTA.
@lukeothedukeo7 жыл бұрын
I feel completely the opposite. I thought the story had significant depth to it. Because while it did have a number of over the top action moments, to me those were just sprinkles on top of the ice cream that was a story showcasing the futility of trying to be something you're not. I really tried to enjoy GTA Online, but it just felt like it would always be boring unless I bought Shark cards or spent hours upon hours doing the online missions that felt more linear than the story missions and without the benefit of plot. Different strokes man, I'm just glad that we can all enjoy this masterpiece of a game, even if it's in totally different ways.

I thought you were also gonna mention the fact that MGSV missions have hidden things in it that makes replaying them real fun. For example, there's a mission where you have to rescue a hostage and after you do it, a cutscene says that he wasn't the real one, and a couple of side objectives open up if you decide to replay it. One of those says that there are a bunch of hidden hostages, and one of those is the real dude that you had to get. And those were always there so if you explored maybe you could have even gotten the real one right away. There are a lot of things like that in missions where fultoning hostages or enemy soldiers may give you extra info on the mission and maybe even change your objectives. That's awesome and it'd be even awesomer if it happened on a game with a scale like GTA's.

The real irony in having Jake name this series “Games That Should Bang”... is that really, it’s his game ideas that bang. I should’ve been subscribed to this channel years ago.

I disagree, the only thing that makes a big ass story like GTA's playable is the linearity. No level of detail/character development would be as attainable if we chose our own path (unless it played more like a roleplaying game). I do agree that some missions are a little too "go here and shoot X and steal X" but as we've seen with other games, when you give MOST players the option to go gun blazing or stealth/creative, the average person would just go gun blazing. I think it's a good thing in most GTA 5 missions that there's a little hand holding because you can then start to appreciate the details the devs put into each mission, no matter how linear it may be. This effectively creates an interesting and detailed story mode to accompany an endless possibility of options in the open world to create a perfect storm of replayability. The most significant change I would make to the GTA 5 storyline is the ability to choose different pathways early on in the storyline. It feels like, as of now, that the player can only make significant changes to the story during the last mission in your decision to *SPOILER* kill Trevor or Michael (or neither).
@BlaiseTighe4 жыл бұрын
That’s why GTA V did so well. It had a guided, semi linear and very semi choice based single player for gamers that like the more cinematic approach to gaming. Then there’s gamers like you that like to organically find a task, complete it their own way within an interactive open world. That’s where the appeal for GTA Online comes in.

I don't think the GTA story's worst point was that it was linear. It's a just a really shitty story that is hard to finish, shitty character development that makes you care less about them as it goes on, and on rare occasion, really good bad ass sections squeezed in between really boring filler. I thought the beginning of GTAV was great. that first heist was awesome. And then it just turned into a turd.

I'm sorry but I'm so confused by what your saying about GTA V choice & doing things your own way is the foundation of GTA V. I mean that' example you made about imagine ambushing a truck I set up that exact event when I needed guns for a heist each time I play that mission I use different tactics also why do you think lester exists
@oxykilldone51137 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't mind some gameplay elements taken from MGSV, like the customization system, taking hostages, and stealth being a ligit viable option. R*'s story missions are miles better than MGSV's missions. The stories in the GTA games and the missions that go with them have always been top notch, you're doing something different in almost every mission. I'd take an open world game with fun gameplay and a fun story to go with it over a fun game, gameplay wise, but having the most repetitive missions. MGS is 1 of my favorite series, but the story and missions were lacking in it. I agree that GTAV gave plenty of options to complete lots of missions.
