Yeah in Australia we've just taken to 3D printing the models we need/want now, even if we wanted to buy them/pay those prices we couldn't anyway, the GW models are hardly in stock/available anyway lol. Great tips straightening out the fail-cast weapons!

Back in 2010 or so GW released an entire SM chapter for sale. Someone on the forums here calculated it was cheaper to buy a return flight from Sydeny to LA, stay in LA for a weekend, buy the chapter there, and fly back than to buy the thing in Aus. GW are lucky they have any players in Aus at all.

Brilliant technique for the necromancer glow. Takes more skill to do it this way than with an airbrush. I think it turned out great.

Im about to order my Nazgul (already have the necromancer) and was gonna try giving them all a glow effect like u did the necromancer in greens and blues but i dont own am airbrush either so wasnt sure how i was gonna do it. Really like how the dry brush made the necromancer come out. Simple but fantastic paint job! Gonna practice on some spare models before i do it to them.

Yeh definitely practice on a spare model first! Also I'd recomend getting some cheap make up Brushes they really made the difference as they give a much smoother blend

I did something similar to your bases to make marble floor tile bases. I only realised after watching your video that I did it in the stupidest way. I pressed the blue stuff on the marble tiles, then when it was set put the green stuff in the blue stuff, waited for that to dry, then cut the green stuff up to fit the bases. No idea why i didn't think to do it how you did in this video. Way faster than waiting for each piece to dry.

sweet vid! Personally I think the films made Galadriel (yes, she is certainly very powerful) a lil bit to powerful. Gandalf comes off as an incompetent senile man in need of a walker compared to her and that's doing him a bit dirty. He's pretty much a demi-god and she's "only" a noldor elf (with a pimp ring, sure, but that goes for Gandy and Elrond too). I do think the apendix scenes in the hobbit are the films strong points though (but Radagast bird poop hat and his silly rabbits can go away)

arrifs hardly excuse the 25% increase in price especially when the US and UK have special tarrif agreements in place but I'm sure you know all that. GW also have their own distribution centers in the USA now too.

@@jmaccsarmiesofArda They may have distribution centres there but the product is still exported from the UK, there are also certain environmental issues/costs to take into consideration as well. But in general to take a product that has already been export taxed and incurred extra costs such as transporting and storage, take that final amount and then use an exchange rate as proof GW are hiking costs is just plain incorrect. We've heard this for years from people is AU/NZ and it's just not that simple or indeed actually proves anything.

What I meant to say is its due to them owning a very popular monopololy on their products that they can charge whatever they want. Even here in the UK they are stupidly expensive in comparrison to other wargaming products. The base product is alrdy crazy priced and when you add the tarrifs etc on it makes it crazzzy expensive for our overseas friends.

Both those examples are one use, money spent, money gone. Now buy a box of miniatures, how long do they last? One week? A month, 10+ years (barring codex obsolescence) Cost compared to use I think they are very well priced, sure I would love them to be cheaper but not many, if any at all come close to the quality of GW, arguably they are the most "pirated" (recast/3D printed) gaming miniatures there is or ever will be. Do anyone really believe that GW's active policy is to charge overseas gamers a large amount over the top on GW UK store prices or could there actually be other factors at play and not just the perceived "greed" from the GW higher ups and shareholders?
