Using the GameSir T1S OTG red uses video stuttering, and dropped frames simply by not using Bluetooth that interferefear with the WiFi 2.4 bandwidth.
I personally think the T1S is one of the best options for flying the Tello Quadcopter on an android device.

Thanks very much for this video, and the other one comparing the T1s and T1d. On your recommendation I bought the T1s and an OTG cable, and after a bit of difficulty I got it all to work together. Two things that need to be emphasised, I think: (i) Turn on "OTG" on the phone, and then connect the OTG cable to the phone and T1s. If the the cable is connected correctly the T1s LEDs light up immediately. If they don't light up then reverse the cable. (ii) Once the phone and controller are properly connected by the OTG cable, run TelloFPV and go to the "Controller" settings. Under "Master Controller" select "Microsoft X Box 360".

Great Video. I've had my Tello for a few weeks. I've been using the TelloFPV app, which is great. I don't like using the onscreen joysticks so I ordered the GameSir T1s, it's on the way. Your video seems to be some of the smoothest that I've seen on KZbin. Is that due to the T1s or have you fine tuned the settings in TelloFPV? I you have tuned the Video settings (Bitrate and IFrame) and the Tune Control Settings for the Yaw/Throttle/Pitch/Roll (Rate/Expo/Deadzone) could you tell us what they are? Also, what is the Case that you have? Thanks for any info.

The T1S helps a lot with smooth stick movement (Cinematic effect) Plus the TelloFPV app has quite a lot of settings to play with. My Old Oppo F1 Phone was not the best for video, and I have since replaced it with a Samsung A70, which gives me even smoother video footage.

I use both aTelloPilot and TelloFPV. TelloFPV has many more features than aTelloPilot, but aTelloPilot is easier to use.

Hello, may I ask you what is the biggest distance you achieved by using the XIAOMI Mi 2 extender and the TelloPilot app? Also, is the wifi range better when using Tello Volate FPV app ? Or this has nothing to do with the app using though? Thanks in advance, Vassilis

The WiFi extender will give the same distance no matter what app you use, as it uses WiFi, and not the app to obtain distance. I've flown to around the 200 metre mark, but still had full control, and no loss of FPV signal. (I've never tried to max out the WiFi connection) Hope that helps.

Thank you for your great sharing. I'm still wondering whether or not to buy a controller. I heard that there could be "latency" issue if using a Bluetooth controller, ie. when you move the physical stick, the drone responds a bit later (probably delayed by 0.5 sec or so), and there's no such issue if using virtual stick control in the stock Tello app. Could you share your experience about the latency issue when using Bluetooth or otg connections? My answer is quite simple. Don't use bluetooth. It will cause interference on the 2.4 bandwidth if you do. However, its not an issue, if you keep resonably close to you. I use the OTG connection only. It gives me much stonger signal, from, and to the Tello, plus considerably greater distance and superior video feed. Latency is not that noticeable when outside flying the Tello, but I don't fly that fast anyway haha.

I forgot to mention. If you use an OTG connection, you will need to use a 3rd party app to control your Tello I.E: ATelloPolot or TelloFPV

Hello Sir may I ask for your help? I recently bought the T1s gamesir controller but the enhanced version. This controller can also be recognised by tello stock app (the standard tello app) but only with Bluetooth connection, not any option in the app for OTG connection. Can you please verify that the OTG connection works though with Tello Pilot and Tello FPV app as well? Thanks a lot!!

I don't have the enhanced T1S. I can verify that the standard T1S works with TelloFPV, and aTelloPilot using the OTG cable. If you are having problems connecting, try turning the cable around 180 degrees, as it is a one way connection only.

@@vcdroneGR You can get a free limited test version of TelloFPV to try out. The full version has been constantly developed. aTelloPilot is easier to use, but I don't think it's not being supported anymore, so if you have a problem, your on your own.

The app is TelloFPV, the return to home is not perfect but better then nothing. You can get a test version of the TelloFPV app to see if it works for your phone, before purchasing it.

You need to get a 3rd party Android app, such as TelloFTP or ATelloPilot. TelloFTP has a Trial version so you can test out the app before purchase.

I own and use both of these Android apps. aTelloPilot, is easier to configure, with most buttons already programmed to the GameSir T1S TelloFTP has more customisation available in the app, you can program your buttons to the GameSir. Both the apps work perfectly, and are easy to setup.

My personal thoughts are to use an OTG cable, and you will get a smoother FPV video signal to your phone. I'm not a fan of the Gamesir T1D (I also have one, but don't use it anymore)

I have an OTG cable and I cannot pair the controller to my phone. It is the same phone that I use with an OTG cable to my mavic mini controller and it works perfectly. I can get the controller to pair with my phone using bluetooth, but as you know the video is useless and the signal seems really weak. I bought the t1s because of your videos and others but I cannot get it to pair up using the cable. I've tried every possible step and it still wants to hook up with Bluetooth only. I have turned off Bluetooth. It still will not pair period could you give me precise step by step instructions, such as exactly which end of the cable you put in first and what you power up first . Thanks, I'm getting frustrated enough to sell the tello and stick with my mavic mini. I want to use the controller but I want to be able to use the video feed also. Thanks

Works..... RCA 10 and 1/2 in El cheapo tablet.. 1-turn on tablet. 2. Turn on airplane mode 3. Make sure bluetooth is off 4. Connect your controller to the USB port on the tablet.... Miracle of miracles it should come on and have a solid green and flashing red light. The tablet will tell you it's connected... 5. Open up the TelloFpv app 6. Power up the Tello 7. Connect your Wi-Fi to Tello (if you use a non-data plan tablet or device and you're not near your home Wi-Fi, as I do, it will connect automatically to the tello) 8. You will see a prompt on the screen that tells you that the controller is connected. In my case I could see "gamesir T1s" when I connected by Bluetooth, but using OTG the gamesir was called Xia### Gamesir T1s.... 9. Look at the controller icon on the bottom of right of the screen and it should say OK You should be ready to go.

The standard cables that come with the Tello, won't work with the GameSir. You need to get a USB Type C Male to Micro USB Male OTG Data Transfer Cable.

The OTG cable I used, needed to have a small amount of material removed from the plug to make it a better fit.

Have you turned the OSD cable 180 degrees, and replugged it back in ? If you have the cable connected the wrong way, then nothing will work. P.S. I have my cable marked, so I know which end goes where.

No it's not Only the T1D will work with the stock Tello App, and it cannot be used with an OTG cable. The T1D can also be used with TelloFP, but you would be better off buying a T1S Gamesir.
