I've never played any 40k games, just bought my first 3 minis and paints, and had already decided I was going to pre-order this set as my first set into wargaming. I have no idea what's going on here but I'm still very excited to learn, build, paint, and play!

Congrats. As a serious tip: finish painting what you have before buying more. Buying kits is easy finishing them not. And its quite frustrating looking at a pile of unfinished projects. Finish it, be proud and move to the next.

@@VermillionBeard Kill Team is the best entry into GW wargames imo. Full size 40k can be very overwhelming. KT is the perfectly manageable from a rules perspective and from a painting/hobby perspective. Have fun!

A question to those of you who have warhammer+. Are all Battle Reports that high production? Because this would actually be a reason for me to subscribe, most community battle reports on youtube are just too hard to follow when you are not that deep into the game systems. Having the equipment/skill effects etc. shown inbetween and also having those overlay markers of what model actually attacks which model makes it so much easier to follow and understand what is going on.

@@nickbayton941 But what happened 17:33 when Josh's roll suddenly changed from 3,6,4 to a 4,5,6 roll?! Josh's roll changed while your roll of a 4,4,4 stayed the same. I cant make it make sense. Also from one thing to another, i love the new rules, but seeing you throw the game with the activation order just to make the game look "closer" is kind of painful.

I just stopped by my GW to order a couple of Legions Imperialis rulebooks and saw my manager putting these guys together. They look AMAZING in person, the Vespids are fantastic and now I want the Tempestus even though I'm already kitbashing my own Krieg jump troops.

There definitely will be, but not at the same time as the Edition box. Starter sets will come after Edition boxes have sold out. No guarantee, but I believe the 2nd edition starter came about 3 months after Octarius released.

For the Vespids if a target is over 8 inches away and there are no other targets within 8 inches do you need to spend a communion point? Are the Vespids only able to target units within 8 inches or they have to spend a communion point?

@12:50 Aerial Agility says a maximum of one attack dice per shooting sequence. Vespid player rolled two 😑

@@IZeroCooLI A maximum of one hit can be ignored on a successful roll. Both hits had the same damage, so there’s no reason they couldn’t roll for both at the same time, even though they could only ever ignore damage from one die.

@@IZeroCooLI so the wording is it can only ignore one attack dice, but you can roll for each one. So if he rolled two 5+’s then he could only use one of them.

This is everything wrong with 40k I build my unit and pick my skills but if their and if their then my unit is actually only X. Take a leaf from the dnd book and decide in only 1-2 dice rolls instead of 4-5 and you have control and joy over your own choices, currently it feels like 400 dice rolls for every combat

New rules are pretty good, but the vespid do seem a little overtuned between communion, repeating damage with neutron shards, and the fallout tokens.
