A few things: In the recording from "fishery" it's mentioned that the cave is fleshy and is alive, coupled with the fact Thirst Born has a dialogue that remarks that "the flesh will grow" make me think whatever is that cave is related to Thrist Born. There's also the fact that Shize the 3rd in the "John" record had a heavy emphasis on "soul" and the fact Shize™ knows how to trap souls in cans makes me think that Shize the 3rd was going to use the same method to trap the 2 armed person.
