Everyone needs to be scouted lmao. You know who else won MVP in that league? Anthony Parker, Nando De Colo, Nemanja Bjelica, ECT. MVP in that league isn't anywhere near what's it's cracked up to be, it's impressive for sure at 19 but being MVP there means absolutely nothing to NBA scouts. In fact a lot of guys who don't pan out here become big name players there lmao.

Chip Skylark sure but he was 19 and wasn’t just MVP of the league he was final four MVP just like Bob McAdoo, Dominique Wilkins, Arvydas Sabonis, Manu Ginobili and Toni Kukoc at various stages of their career... The thing about Luka is in crunch time down the stretch of games you need the ball in the hands of someone who makes the right play every time down. Doesn’t matter if it’s a pass a shot a drive to bucket and get fouled. You have to make the correct plays in the last 3 minutes of games to have a shot to win. This kid makes the correct play 98% of the time. If he didn’t Carlisle wouldn’t have him running the offense during those times. He is very impressive for a 19 year old to make the correct decision every time is just impressive.

It's revisionist history to say you "knew" Luka was going to come in and make an impact. I saw more people doubt him than who said would. I love how they've slickly changed the narrative. First it was he did that in Europe, he won't do it here because he's unathletic and slow and the Euro league isn't the NBA but now that he's balling It's "he had an advantage because he played against pros blah blah blah" . It was a camp of two, one saying he'd be great though even then not many predicted top 25 player in the league at least in his rookie season, and another camp saying his athleticism will hold him back which it only really does when he's isolated against a speedy guard on defence. I mean his game in FIBA was based around the pick n roll, playing against better athletes doesn't take away the feel for the pick n roll. His handles aren't the best in the world or anything but they're good enough you don't put big men on him. You need a lanky but quick forward, anyone else isn't quick enough with their feet or will be abused in the post.

Yeah you're right but I think with the way the medical and physical therapy has advanced and Dallas Mavs are known to have a great medical staff. I've heard multiple reports say that he's already healthy and ready to pay they just are waiting to bring him back next year to the point he is even more then ready and get a good training camp in with the team as well.

@@80teg the knicks have tried him at the 5 but he's not strong enough or aggressive enough on the glass at the 5. At the 4 he can use his mobility, handle and moves a lot better and doesn't get hit by the 5s as much. He's also better off containing screens since teams run it off the 4s more

Luka is a 1,plays as a 1, has always been a 1, guards other guards, has nothing to do with being a 4 and has never been a 4. These people, usually Americans, do not know him nor his game, just like those who said he was the new dirk before the season. started.

He'll play 1 on offense, but I won't be surprised if they move him to 4 on defense, because he's defensively slower than most PGs, and it saves his legs on defense (most teams don't run their offense through their 4); he also has the size the defend 4's (ie: Tucker, Portis, Draymond, Crowder, etc)

A a I don’t think it’s an overstatement actually. Mitchell isn’t a bad passer and it isn’t a knock on him, Doncic is just so much better. His vision is incredible and he can make passes only few others in the world can, it’s his best trait. Donovan even complimented his vision himself and said: “I didn’t have half the reads he has now”. He’s also way bigger than Mitchell and therefore also a lot more dominant on the boards. There’s a reason Mitchell has 0 career triple doubles and only one double double in 2 seasons

I don't know why everyone is trying to correct the panel on what position Luka and KP play. In today's NBA the positions don't have clearly defined roles anymore. Luka is a Point Forward and KP is a stretch Center.

Luka is the next great white hype. He is already at his peak now. As he gets older and slower, that team will not go anywhere. Luka will have to play the 3 and Porzingis will have to play the 4 so they can have a big that can cover their defensive weaknesses. He's their point getting only 5-6 assists, and he's their PF getting only 6 or 7 boards.
