Great discussion guys but... I really dont understand the guy in the top right's point about remakes not going to lie. Paper Mario TTYD is a game thats been made from the ground up which still took development time believe it or not so it should be rewarded. The game visually looks a lot more different than the original and is essentially new for him and everyone else who hasnt played this game before. Joey's point makes more sense. Look man, if you just dont want to play Paper Mario just say that lol, because the guy in the top right made a really weird tangent about it.

One thing to note: beyond Side Order, Splatoon 3 is normally ending support for new content and seasons this autumn. They announced two years worth of content and updates, back when they released the game.

I definitely prefer the style of remake that mostly keeps the older stuff in tact, updating it with modern sensibilities, and adds some optional new content, but it is kind of a double edged sword. You could get something great like Bowser's Fury, or you could get something that's almost not worth playing, which was the case for me with the Mario & Luigi remakes' side modes.

While it's true there are remasters and remakes coming, these are remasters/remakes fans have been wanting. Over the years I've seen people beg for Luigi's Mansion 2 on console, thinking it could improve its controls, and many, many, many fans have been asking for a Paper Mario remake for many years at this point. The Mario Vs. Donkey Kong game may not look that interesting, but I've heard the original was fun. So, I may give it a shot, but I am very interested in Another Code. And of course, I'm excited to see what now gameplay and lore Side Order brings to Splatoon. And let's not forget, we've still got some 3rd party games coming. So, to say the start of this year is lacking is being pretty ignorant to the facts.

I'm getting so tired of the argument of "if starting tweaking thing you will end up losing the essence of the game" like, is it a remake or a remaster? If it's a remaster then the intent is not to lose anything of the intent of the original game.. If it's a remake then its intent is to bring something new to the game everyone loved. If you're so intent in playing the original, then fucking play the original. no need to fucking cherry pick. I'M sooooo tired of this argument, it's always the same thing.

Play Another Code, people! As a fan of the original games, I’m pleasantly impressed with the route they’re taking for this remake - it’s basically a re-imagining of the structure of the progression and puzzles, while retaining all the story beats form the original. Well played - especially since there are puzzles that are based on the original hardwares. Curious to see what they do here. I do see where you’re coming from about remakes, Jake. To some extent, I fully agree with you. However, you still have many people like me, who’s a looooong time Nintendo fan, believe me, who has missed out on many games in the past - including Paper Mario TTYD. So remakes do have a important purpose. But they will never please everybody for sure. That’s the only certainty. ;)

I'm really excited for all the Mario titles Mario vs DK: I beat 94 on the 3DS and played a little bit of this, so I'm glad I get a chance to finish this. PP Showtime: Maybe its because it reminds me a lot of Scooby-Doo: Unmasked and Luigi's Mansion 3 but I really like how Peach is getting another solo adventure that basically involves saving her subjects like how Luigi saves Mario in LM, Yoshi saves his brethren in his series, and how Captain Toad saves Toadette in Captain Toad. Luigi's Mansion 2 HD: This one's my least favorite but that Scarescraper I will always say is better than 3's. Plus I might have a better time with bigger controls. PM TTYD: I'm hoping they have skip/fast fast forward button for the dialogue as well as fast travel like RPG.

I enjoyed LM2 and did not enjoy LM3. LM3 changed the franchise from a mostly ghost fighting game into a mostly puzzle solving game with a few ghosts here and there. Plus Luigi was so OP the ghosts were gone so quickly then it's onto another 30+ minutes of puzzles.

Honestly im glad that Mario VS Donkey Kong is getting remade. I know the price is steep but I really love how the game looks on Switch, it just gives me the illusion of playing a new game lol. Maybe its the wider field of view (field of view was my main problem with the GBA original).

If Switch 2 comes out at the end of 2024, then the February 2024 Direct will be the last Switch era Direct. However if Switch 2 launches in early 2025, then the June Direct will be the last Switch era Direct.

I enjoyed the game at the time but I just don’t really care about playing it again, if it was a remake of the first game I would be all over it but this game just feels like the black sheep of the series to me now. Alright So here's my idea for Nintendo in 2024 The Switch maybe is coming to an end but there's still a chance for more Games on the system for a last hoorah Star Fox for Nintendo switch there is no way Nintendo will stop making star fox Games i know for sure in 2024 there's gonna be that one small surprise for switch and star fox is going to be one of them Kirby Every year when a new console is released there's always One Kirby Game to end the last console or handheld for example Kirby extra Epic yarn even though 3ds was over they still did it so i believe switch will do something similar and release either A. Kirby Air Ride Remake or sequel Or B. My interest in TTYD's remake is dependent on if it gets a 60 FPS patch on the Switch 2. I'm sitting on quite a few games like Xenoblade 3 just in case they run better on the Switch 2.

Thousand year door is NOT expensive to get on GCN. Complete it ranges about $100. Compared to other waaaay higher games on GCN like Go Go Hypergrind, TYD is not much. I guess for a child with no job…yeah that may be high in that case 🤷🏻‍♂️

LM1 is perfect. LM2 is complete garbage and bad, and LM3 never played and dont care too. LM3 is terrible and overrated. We never needed a sequal to LM1
