The reason why they say that only children can hear the Lavender tone is because the frequency of it is too high for adult hears to pick up, as it is very well known that a child's ear can pick up higher frequencies than an adult's ear. In any case, the song's audio can be modified to where even adults can hear it, meaning lowering the song's overall frequency down to where an adult can pick up every piece of the song. I've done this and no such additional tones were found. I've also proven that the "lost frequencies" version of Lavender Town's song is fake because these frequencies, if they actually existed in the original song, should be shown when increasing the volume of every single frequency in an audio spectrograph. I first made sure that the ghost sprite and unknown letters showed up on my spectrograph in the "lost frequency" version, which it did, but it did not show up on in the original song (which was the one from the original Japanese green version) proving that it was a fake, and that some one used a program to convert the image of the ghost sprite into the audio so that it shows up in the spectrograph. Not to mention the fact that the wooshing sounds which made up the ghost sprite and unknown letters are not possible sounds an 8 bit system can generate. But even if you received a headache while listening to the lavender town song, that doesn't mean lavender town syndrome is true. You probably are getting a headache from the song simply because its annoying.

non headphone users are 100% safe. this tune actually works pretty similarly to most beta waves binaural beats which means you gotta wear headphones have mid volume be relaxed and be exposed to the beat for a few minutes (usually 20-40) thats why in 80% of the suicide cases (according to the creepypastas) were of children using headphones while playing the game with their save files almost always at lavender town. Also the binaural beats that play during the tune (according to the creepypastas again) are developed so they can only be "heard"(take effect to be exact) to non fully developed ears that people from the age of 7 to 15 normally have(however the creepypastas claim that it only affected those between the age of 7 - 12). Also even if a person between the age of 7 - 15 wearing headphones is exposed to the tune won't get any short of effects beside slight headaches and dizziness since they are aware of the story because that causes them be alert during the exposure when for any binaural beat to take effect having clear mind is needed. So to conclude if one wants to expirement with this he should try it to someone between the age of 7-15 that is unaware of the story and with a good excuse that won't cause him to be cautious. (if u actually try it please answear this comment so we can know how much of this is true)

Old video is old, but I wanted to ask; I don't think it really counts as a creepy pasta because there were rumours about it long before that became a thing, but would you ever consider doing an episode about the "Polybius" urban legend? I know the chances of it being true are pretty much nil but it's an interesting story nonetheless and I'd like to here a reputable person talk about it. :)

I would discount the theory out of hand on the grounds that the circuitry can't produce frequencies high enough. Of course, the high sustained volume level and medium-high frequencies of the midi music could also cause headaches from simple listening fatigue.

The ghost sprites do exist because if the character manages to reach lavander town without the silph scope, a hunter-like sprite appears with a message giving an option to run or not. Selecting no will prompt a message saying the trainer is too scared to send out a pokemon. Selecting yes will prompt the message good-byr

Although I don't believe the whole 200 suicide thing, I do get the headaches every time I listen to it. The White Hand is also actually related to the Buried Alive creepy pasta. If you battled Buried Alive, he would have two white hands, both being over level 100.

actually its possible to become depressed from songs because scientists found out that certain frequencies psychologically affect your mood like a guy who wrote the song sad monday (i think thats what its called) that had certain frequencies patterns that caused several people to kill themselves with it playing or right after it played so i wouldn't be surprised that lavender caused bad effects from music

Ok ok here's the real thing on the lavender town song is that the frequency was putting strain on the gameboy's speakers so they changed it to stop the strain on the speakers

The song really does give me a headache... but so does any sufficiently high-pitched noise, because I'm sound-sensitive. Fun fact, though: Apparently the American localization team for Pokemon decided "we should make this shit creepier." because instead of all of the channelers saying "Go back..." they decided some needed to say "Give me blood" and shit. At least, when I told someone who was a huge Pokemon fan on my trip to Japan, she was shocked and said that none of the channelers say any of that.
